Is Sam Nazarian part of current Sahara ownership ? I thought the name change from SLS related somehow to a change of ownership ...

"The SLS experienced financial hardships after its opening, and Nazarian sold his stake to Stockbridge in 2015. One of the hotel towers was rebranded the following year as W Las Vegas, managed by Starwood as part of its W Hotels chain. The SLS was sold to Meruelo Group in 2018, and the W Las Vegas became part of the SLS again after the resort ended its relationship with Starwood. The SLS was renamed Sahara Las Vegas on August 29, 2019, as part of an ongoing renovation by Meruelo. "

Are you also restricting the category to gaming industry CEOs ?

Fwiw, I thought the SLS renovations of the casino were very nice, if a bit misdirected for the local market. At TT's insistence, went there around the time of its opening a SLS, but never returned.

The dude has been posting on twitter nonstop since the pandemic began that everything should be reopened, the governor is bad, masks are bad, social distancing is bad, etc. Not sure if he is a right wing shill or is living in fantasy land hoping the pandemic will magically disappear.

I believe it was the local LV Fox channel that did the story right after it became known...and there was an exchange on Twitter about the filing.

That sort of pleading is typically made to get over a jurisdictional bar to get into a particular court; it doesn't limit or cap damages.

Anti-SLAPP statutes are a different beast. I don't know if Nevada has one.

Didn't realize that was how y'all did it out there...my bad. I'm used to seeing the actual amount being sought plus punitives and fees/costs.

They still are going to have problems showing any manner of actual damages though...

That’s how it’s done in Texas as well. Just have to allege minimum jurisdictional amount. Guess you don’t practice civil law.

Dumb stuff huh? I’m assuming you don’t know anything about this topic so once again good job sticking your nose where it doesn’t belong. Stick to your own moronic viewpoint of, well, just about everything you think you know about, arrogant tool.

NBD, of course -- and I agree that quantifying actual damages will be tough. Establishing the fact of actual damages ought not to be too hard, however.

Lol imagine taking the side of a casino over some guy who typed out a story. These are the people who get all moist over the thought of a Trump family political dynasty because rich people are our betters.

Fyp.

In Nevada, people get "all moist" over rich bettors, not the Trump family. Mr. Trump lost in Nevada in 2016 by 2 1/2 %. No reason so far to expect a different outcome in 2020.

Ask yourself why there has never been a Trump casino in Las Vegas. Given the family's repeated fiascos in New Jersey, I doubt there was much appetite for giving a Trump casino a gaming license.

This is comedy gold, GJ is sort of like a "mean SageDonkey".....

The post GJ is deriding was actually 100% on point, as a Texas analogy to pleading practices in Nevada.

Exactly I can’t imagine anyone taking the casino side over an individual but this guy just isn’t very good at what he does and deserves what he gets.

I hope he closes down and someone else can fill the void.
