Hi!

Coming back to for my fourth trip to Vegas from Norway.
This will be a bit different, my last trips have been Vegas only, but this one will feature a roadtrip from San Fransisco to Vegas.

Not exactly sure when we will be in Vegas, but will get at least 4 full days from the 18th-22nd. Booked a comped suite at Vdara for 4 days, will probably do Aria if I arrive earlier.

Bankroll will be about 3k for Poker. Food/spending money is not restricted by any budget, but as I just closed on my first home I would prefer sub 100$/day, excluding flights and hotel.

Plans:
2-5 PLO Aria
250$ 200kg DSE @ Venetian

Food:
Looking for a high end Italian place. Last time I went to Carbone and told the host to hook me up with something exciting for 400$ total including wine. That was a very good experience and I would like to repeat but at a different restaurant.

Relax:
Pool @ aria

Open for recommendations. Will be traveling with 2 friends.
27 days to go, pics incoming when its 24 hrs to travel.

Lets GO!

Lykke til, from a fellow Norwegian!

Will be in Vegas from 24th - 4th, but promise to leave some money behind for you to take.

So, today is 3 weeks until we leave for the US of A and my lovely second home, Vegas.
To kill some time, I decided to degenerate it up on some slots and PLO on Pokerstars.

I never got around to that PLO, as the slots was feeling nice. Started with this

and after a few hours the balance is now this

So, I've placed a order to upgrade to business class on the flight and will basically doing a 14 day vacation for free! Nice.

You realise that expectations are now high?
Seriously though, nicely done.

Every time I'm in Vegas and play blackjack, I always hear people talk about pushing their luck.
Today I did that. End result $29,075,52 - which gives me a 28.7k profit for the day.

I will take some days off from work now and rework the schedule. This is going to be one for the books.

3k bankroll for 2/5 PLO seems like disaster

+1, a friend of mine played 1/2 PLO at Aria a week ago but they did a $5 bring-in so it plays like 2/5. He had well over $3000 in his stack and wasn´t even the big stack at the table.

Its now less then 48 hours until takeoff, so starting to get exciting!

So just to clear something up:

I meant 1-2 PLO with the 5 bring in at Aria. Imo 3k (6 buyins) is enough for 4 days. Anyhow, for us traveling from overseas, i feel the BR part is pretty ambiguous. Will i play more if i lose the 3k? Yes.

All in all, i peaked at 41k USD on stars, playing only high stakes Extra Chilli. Biggest win was 19k. Ended up withdrawing a total of 21k USD. Some issues, as Skrill will no longer send direct to norwegian banks, but it should be all good soon.

Still waiting on room upgrade in Vegas and also waiting on flight upgrade. I made a offer of about 8k Norwegian (1k USD) to upgrade to business, and as far as i can see, its still around 20 seats available in business, so hoping for the best.

Have booked tickets to Sharks vs Knights in San Jose the 12th. Will try to catch a game when we are in Vegas aswell, but the prices are way steeper for a game in Vegas.

I wish you all the best, but again this was the average chips in play from a friend of mine at the very same 1/2/5 PLO at Aria only 4 weeks ago:

Edit: just noticed that the max buyin is still at $500, weird. Either way - it plays very deep so expect some swings!

Thanks for the heads up! I've been playing the 1-2-5 for about 150 hours and as long as the max buyin is still capped at 500 i dont feels its going to be a problem.

And as said, if there is need for more cash, i will withdraw more cash.

Now, just for curiosity Muck, in your thread you were talkinb about comped buffets etc. Are you simply spending poker comps on this? Or do you have another way to get these comps?

For me, ive only used poker comps, room comps in advance and review of play after the stay has ended (during checkout)
Would love to hear if there is any more sources to get comps =)

For the buffets: I used to play MyVegas for a couple of months during work and earned enough points to get 4 different buffets for free. You wont have time to earn them with such short notice tho and I do not thing they are worth actually paying for.

I managed to play 30+ hours at the Bellagio this trip and got $60 comps or so, just spent it on tableside dining. Guess its the same for Aria as well.

Ah yes, got some myvegas points from the last trip. Will def check it out.
Got a favorable mail today: I've been upgraded on the 11 hour flight from CPH to SFO. Business class, here I come.

Im a business class virgin, so Im actually more giddy about that flight then going to Vegas right now.

Seeing as this is a Las Vegas subreddit, I will do travel update from the flight, then go quiet for a few days and just do a summary of SFO, Yosemite and the other stuff, and then go live when I hit Vegas around the 18th.

also, my last TR is here! - I think my biggest stack on the 1-2-5 PLO was about 2.9k. I made a full pyramide with the 6-5-4-3-2-1 formation and started on the second level. Oh fun memories.

Subbed. I'm looking forward to poker pics and airplane stories. Or vice versa.

I flew first class once, when I was 12. Otherwise, I have not been on the good side of the curtain.

$3,000 for the 1/2/5 for four days is OK if you have a stop-number during each session. And I mean STOP. I lost $3,000 in one afternoon in that game. (Thank goodness I was still up $5,500 for the trip!)

first time in business class will be fantastic, no matter what carrier you're on. Basically all of them do flat beds, great food and drinks. big screens and excellent entertainment options and enough space to breathe and move without ever being crowded by other people.

not sure who you're flying with but in tiers it's basically 1. Middle Eastern/Asian airlines, 2. some of the better European carriers inc Swiss, BA, and then the upgraded US products.

but again, any of them will make you wish you always flew at the front

good luck with the trip

BA Business not so good in comparison to most these days. That said i'll be in it London to Denver prior to our Vegas visit at the end of April.

Middle East as you say is normally amazing. Even Gulf Air has massively upped their game.

The New American however, is very nice and the beef is off the chart.

Yeah, read that about BA although they just launched a new product this week.

I’ve got a Virgin Australia/Virgin Atlantic combo bus class round the world for June - Syd LA LV LHR HK Syd and in a Princess kind of way I’m dreading the Virgin Atlantic legs because I’ve heard they’re very ordinary too

So far so good. SAS has a decent business concept, but its not like the Asian ones. Comfy seats that turns into a bed, 1-2-1 configuration. Looking good so far.

I made an offer with points on SAS to Business (and Plus). I hope I get it, flying from Stockholm to Los Angeles.

We flew from London to SFO and then from Vegas to London 2 weeks later last year with Virgin Atlantic and they were probably top 3 in terms of longhaul I have ever tried. And we flew economic. If you fly weekdays and your flight is on a less busy route you will have half the plane empty (obviously not an issue if in business class, but a big "upgrade" if traveling in cattle class ).

I think you can only use 3 Comps in a 90 day period!? What is your choice there or what do they offer for you?

What is that orangeish chip in the front right? It isn't a $5 chip, it clearly has different markings on the side, the $500 Aria chips are purple, and the $5k chips are flags with a lot of white. This is driving me crazy.
