I just got home to Henderson from my trip to The Grove dispensary. I got there about 830 and there was no line. After playing with my phone a bit I looked back and saw a line forming. I ended up about fifth in Line. A security guard passed us out some water as it was already ~95. The people I was in line with all seemed to be cardholders. One guy mentioned that prices here have jumped dramatically. He said he could get $25 per 8th and now it is $45/8th with his card and 55/8th without it.

Upon entering you are immediately hit with the odor of Marijuana. Anyone who smokes would appreciate it. They ask you for your ID and you have a seat. They started inviting you in one by one (or party by party). It seems like they took the cardholders before me (which is fair) but I didn't care. The seats were comfy and it had AC. To the right is a big wall of monitors/tv's with scrolling prices. They seemed to match what I was seeing on leafly.

I got called back and lead through a door to be shown all the products. I wasn't really interested in purchasing any "flower" as they call it but may have bought an eighth of a hybrid strain but apparently they are out already. I already have some "flower" so I didn't buy any more.

I ended up buying a vape pen with some hybrid concentrates and an edible candy bar for next weekend.

I also bought some CBD oil for $100, as they were out of the smaller size.

For the heck of it I also got a preroll for $15 and asked for something uplifting, so we will see how that goes.

Grand total $225. The prices they quote you include tax but the receipt breaks it down. They give you a zip lock baggy to store things in and I was out the door. Doors opened at 9 and I was back to my car by 9:30.

I didn't get any pics of the location but here is what $225 gets you, mainly of oil/concentrates.

It's a wild feeling, for me, driving after the dispensary. Pulled next to a cop at a stop light and had to remind myself that I don't have to "act normal". Trip to CO was a cool experience.

Like CO, the prices will drop and things will start to level out. Bud will saturate the market once the initial surge is over.

You'll still pay a little more than the guy that knows a guy, but the convenience will offset the price for many.. especially those with zero hookups

It's not legal to smoke pot in your hotel room, but so many Vegas hotels just reek of the stuff. This was one of the biggest reasons I quit staying at the Rio during the WSOP.

I heard a rumor that casinos may have a smoking area? Anyone know if there is any truth to this?

I'm staying at the gold coast, my friend lit up a J outside in the smoking area... within 10 minutes a nice old-timer cop came out about the "funky smell" and let us know there's no smoking weed on private property in Vegas. He could have written us a ticket but was very cool about it.

I think the casinos want to keep weed away from their properties because it lowers their profits.

In the future, I could see a "Weed Casino" being a thing.

I don't really have any problem with the new law. And of course it's not possible to say what effect it will have on the prevalence of marijuana in and around casinos after just one day.

But I do think that a lot of pot smokers are either extremely unaware or just totally inconsiderate of the effects that smoking has on people around them. And that thought was completely reinforced by the response in this thread when someone brought up this concern.

there's a potential law that would allow businesses to apply for a license to have a weed area. it hasn't been passed/signed yet.

if this one doesn't pass, something eventually will. what's the point of selling weed to 10,000 tourists per day if there is nowhere to legally smoke it?

i predict within 12 months you will be allowed to light up a joint inside one of the major strip nightclubs.

good! even though vegas was named "the dumbest city in america," it can be a smart city in it's own way.

they should embrace every vice that they can, live up to the name sin city. the mayor wants vegas to be the plastic surgery capital of the world, which i think is brilliant. they might as well be the weed capital too!

Not sure about that, customers high on weed drink way less. OTOH, people high on coke or amphetamines drink more and therefore clubs look the other way as far as possible without losing their license.

It is silly that it is not specifically allowed at concert venues and festivals. People do it anyways, and did it in the past, and will continue to do so. Take the downtown event center for example, which other than being across from CCDC would be a great place to smoke.

Honestly the topic is going to be a moot point. Edibles and wax/extracts will be the primary form of consumption eventually. I have a setup that's exactly like a vape setup and I can smoke it literally anywhere without being detected (live in FL, it's a pill state).

I went to The Reef in NLV earlier tonight and picked up a Tryke brand Disposable Vape Pen for $55.

There was a line I waited on for about 35 minutes, then once we got inside, I was allowed to bypass the rest of the line and go to the Express window since I knew what I wanted and didn't need to wait to see their dry selection, etc.

Are visitors able to purchase or do you have to be a Nevada resident ?

Im sure the law is the same in Nevada as it is in Colorado where I reside. If you are a non resident you can purchase marijuana but can't purchase as much as residents. Obviously trying to prevent people to bringing back large amounts across state lines to other non-legal states.
