Looks like you'll be able to celebrate your freedom on the 4th with the freedom to smoke some cheeba for fun, and not just to treat your glaucoma.

i live in tx. will be last state in the union to get on board. and as embarrassing as it is i have yet to visit a rec smoke state yet. even more embarrassing is i am not completely clued in on it. (i rarely smoke anymore)
but for the sake of freedom, can i go into a dispensary in any rec state and buy green with no license and no record of purchase?

What will be the rules on where you can do this? I'm guessing casino's are not going to allow it like cigarettes? What about walking the strip?

there's a bill that hasn't been passed yet which allows for permitting for smoking zones. each property would need to receive its own permit. then, the casino would be allowed to decide where you can smoke weed on their property.

it's not legal to walk down the strip smoking a joint but it could be in the near future.

weed is already fully legal here, but sales aren't available yet. July 1st is the date when recreational sales will begin

not only is there a record of purchase, but there's a state-wide digital database that tracks every purchase down to the milligram. it also got hacked and everyone's data was stolen.

don't let the man intimidate you with his list, go buy something

Yeah, I had decided early on I never wanted to move to Vegas because of the prevalence of glaucoma. It seems to hit so many at such an early age too.

unfortunately, the only government approved device for ingesting weed is one of those gas mask bongs. hate to break that to you.

LOL. Seriously though in every rec state I've been to (CO, WA, OR) edibles are like at least half of what the smoke shop displays.

I know many of the shop owners down western/commerce/industrial area... they are understandably excited.

half of the shops in town would have closed if recreational had failed. some of these places are really dead, they are losing tons of money.
90% of the shops don't even grow their own weed. so they're just a standard retail shop with crazy overhead.

there's still a massive weed black market here that will be obliterated. kinda sucks for me because i already have a medical card. the number of customers is going to jump like 20x overnight. gonna have to wait in line behind these ****ers

There are a couple "super shops" and a new one being built right next to the jewelers... the little shops are struggling for sure, but I dont see them closing their doors.
Been inside reef and apothecary grow facilities, they are quite impressive.

Here in WA, the shops are cash-only, so no tracking. The stores have ATMs on-site, so if you're paranoid, just make sure to come with all the cash you need to avoid withdrawing from the machine in the store. Some stores have loyalty programs but you can opt out of those.

It's actually pretty casual; in fact, I don't think the term "dispensary" is really even used for the rec shops. It's just a shop that sells cannabis. No biggie.

In Houston you can have up to 4oz on you and the cops will only write a citation and you need to attend a 4 hour course on responsible decision making within a few months. Not exactly the same as walking into a shop and buying some by still piratically legal to use for recreational purposes. Just don't leave Harris county.

My understanding (and experience) in CO is that you have to show ID to get to the room where you decide if you want to buy. So they may have a list of people who have shown up to at least shop for weed, but can't (???) correlate entering the room with an actual purchase. Cash sales only, if I recall correctly (long term memory gain!)

Of course, just the fact that you are reading this (let alone posting to this thread) puts you on a list, somewhere, I'm sure.

Is there an emoticon with a tin-foil hat? There should be...

Well, this is getting kind of off-topic for a thread about weed in NV, but yes, they also check IDs here in WA to enter the shops but there are no records kept (that I know about). It's like going into a bar, they're just making sure you're 21. They don't scan them or anything like I've heard they do in some states.

Edit: To your last question:

My understanding is that since weed is still considered illegal on the federal level all these rec places are cash only and NO cc.

this is just something I read in a marijuana site...could be completely wrong

If anyone gets to a dispensary tomorrow, I'd love to hear about the experience, and especially if they record your ID or not. I don't mind if they check ID at the door, but I really don't want to get into a database.

(Don't want to lose my concealed carry rights just because I bought a sack of recreational weed).

Sounds right. Many banks are federally chartered and if they are seen abetting federal criminals, they might lose their charter.
