People can still reek after smoking. I do not like the smell. It irritates me about as much as an unbathed Frenchman does.

INteresting thought because I like the smell of weed but the after reek of a person who walks into a neutral smelling room turns me off almost as much as cigarette after reek.

Now as far as unbathed Frenchmen go, that is a whole other level of funk

I usually go to Oasis for my CBDs. In my experience, they're the only dispensary that goes out of their way to keep CBD flowers in stock.
But if your anxiety is really bad you may want to try a Trokie instead of flower.

I don't smoke weed. How long does an ounce last a typical recreational smoker? What would be a typical monthly budget?

no real definition of a typical recreational smoker. i could polish off an oz by myself in a couple of days if i made a real effort. i could also make it last 2 months, but that would take more effort. someone who doesn't smoke every day could make an oz last 6 months or more.

Most people with a standard 8 to 5 day job probably max out at an ounce a week.

Recently I made an ounce last me over a year. Yeah it was old at the end but it still did the trick. My most recent ounce may last 6 months. I only buy good stuff and my tolerance is much lower than it used to be. Back in college I could polish off an ounce a week, but weed was also much less potent.

Ounce a week, damn! I smoke about an 1/8 oz every other week. I take about 3-5 bong rips a night. Cartridge is for weekend if I'm out, and those last me about a month.

As noted, there is no 'typical' recreational smoker. However, a little simple math can give some ideas of what to expect. An ounce is 28 grams. A lot of people I know who are old-school and roll their own joints find that they are somewhere between a third of a gram and a half-gram by weight. So, out of every ounce, they are somewhere in the 60-65 joints, give or take a couple. I've been known to smoke a half of one and leave the other half for the next day if it was just me...indica=in da couch for me. Great for pain relief though.

Other 'recreational' smokers use the little one-hitters and some only use a bong. How much gets used is very much user-dependent in those situations.

Yeah, people who smoke joints, share with their friends, or use other inefficient methods use much more than people who use efficient methods.

I smoke everyday, often 2 or 3 times, generally using a bong or a pipe or a vape, and 1/4 of an oz easily lasts 2 months. If I wanted to stretch it out and be most efficient, I could easily have the same highs and make it last 3 months. I also prefer to have a very functional high, as opposed to people who like to knock themselves out. Just like how some people enjoy having 1 or 2 or 3 beers, and some people want to get "wasted"

Joints are incredibly inefficient compared to bongs/pipes/vapes. It will use up 5-10 times as much easily to get the same high.

A huge variable in getting high is how long you hold the smoke in. You can smoke huge amounts, but if you smoke joints like they're cigarettes you won't even really get high. Whereas you can smoke a much smaller amount, and get high, if you hold the smoke in for 10 or more seconds. 10 seconds is a good minimum. If you aren't holding the smoke in that long, you are pretty much wasting it. 15 seconds is better, and 20 seconds better still.

And yet another variable is how potent the stuff is. And of course your tolerance builds up over time.

right there with you. when I was younger, I would hang with friends and we have 3 blunts in rotation between 5 of us and just get ******ed.

now I smoke one bowl, get just perfect for about 2-3hrs. and truthfully, I can't barely smoke more than that even if I wanted to. as I have gotten older, my lungs have become weaker and my tolerance has went down too, even though I'm still a daily smoker. Not complaining and thankful it's not like alcohol, in terms of building up a tolerance.

Yeah smoking weed and "partying" don't go that well together. Stoners usually hang out at the park or their house doing free (ish) stuff.

If you wash your hands after smoking a joint, and smoke in open air, I don't see any reason you should smell.

If you smoke in open air using a pipe or bong, there probably won't be any smell.

The people you are referring to probably smoked a joint in a poorly ventilated car, and then didn't wash their hands afterwards. I think the majority of people who smoke weed are stealthy and nobody knows (unless they talk openly about it).

So my friend comes to visit and says we should try some edibles, they're legal now. I may have smoked a few times before in the past, so I say, sweet let's do it. I'm thinking to myself, why does anybody bother smoking anymore when they can just eat it?

Smoking it hits you much quicker so you can pretty easily get as high as you want, then stop smoking. Edibles take like an hour to hit you, so after about 45 min you're going to be like, this stuff is weak, and take more.
