I've got some free rooms coming, and I'm thinking about going in September to meet a buddy that coming to town.

Caesars changes their tower names occasionally, so I wanted to check the latest.

Any other CET hotels to recommend? PHo maybe? No poker, but Bellagio and Aria are right across the street.

I'd say Augustus, Octavius, and Palace. I haven't been in another tower in a while and I know they have upgraded some relatively recently, so they might be nice.

Is the poker room at Caesars going to be open then?

If you are looking just for poker, then Harrah's is closest to the north poker rooms and Paris/PH is closer to the B and Aria.

I think you are diamond or higher, so you're probably fine, but the check-in at Caesars has looked awful the last few times I walked through the lobby.

Thanks, guys. I'm guessing Caesars poker room won't be open. If I play at all, it will prob be at Bellagio or Aria. I haven't played at Venetian in years, there's just something about that place I don't like, and I can't put my finger on why. I dislike Wynn, they are too tough for me. Resorts in a no because of the parking cost.

If I stay at PHo I can prob play at Bellagio if I can walk, maybe Aria too, I'll have to see. I might end up driving to Orleans for the friday night tournament if we don't go to a strip club. Sort of wish I could play the sunday Orleans tournament but I'll be driving home then.

I wonder if I can verify with MGM if my card gives me free parking. If so I may venture all the way to Mandalay Bay, and it would make Aria a lot easier to visit.

It sucks all the small fun rooms are gone. If I didn't feel compelled to use this free room, I'd just as well go to Phoenix and play there.

If you stay at PHo don’t forget about Horseshoe. Easy to get to through Paris. You could even stay at Paris or Horseshoe.

Mbay is still closed 1 or 2 days a week IIRC. So check if they are open.

Pretty sure resorts world parking is free, all you need is any type of players card, even the entry level one. Unless it has changed very recently that I am not aware of.

They changed it at the start of June. They added in a new tier, easy to achieve, as the minimum to get free self parking. I think the I heard that the poker room will help you out with parking charges but I don't know the details.

If you stay at Caesars, Bellagio---Aria---Park MGM train is very convenient, free and offers nice views

Convenient to what? The walk from the Park station to the strip (NYNY basically) is almost as long as walking from NYNY to Bellagio (only half kidding). I find that train as next to useless unless you are staying in Park and need/want to go to Bellagio/Aria. Then again, I pretty much find Park useless.

Not much of a fan of the Horseshoe room. Thanks for the Mbay info.

I'm only going to play a few hours at most. It's a long weekend type of trip and I'll only play 1 or 2 days at most. I'm not a poker fiend and usually hit my stop loss in a couple hours.

Yeah, just walking from a room in Caesars to Bellagio is a long trek for my back. There's really nothing past Aria I have interest in walking to. Even for Aria, that's too far from Caesars. I'll make a decision before I go if I plan to play at Aria, and stay at PHo.
