It's increasingly difficult. My late father owned a manufacturer sales rep agency for 35 years representing some of the biggest companies in the industries. In the old days he could just requested extra "Rep" badges with someone's name on it and it was no problem. Eventually they cracked down and required a business card for the company with the persons name on it. Now SHOT says clearly in their registration that a business card is not guaranteed good enough.

The year my dad sold his company and retired and he and I started another business in the industry that same year. When we registered for the show, they denied us. Long story short, it literally took a signed letter from our banker to "prove" that we were a legit new business in the industry.lol

Heck after attending the show for 3 years, I moved my officer after my dad's passing and they denied my application the next year. They said the business address change looked suspicious so the system kicked it out. I had to call to get it straightened out.

They really are getting serious. But then again, it used to fit well within the convention center in New Orleans and now it's busting at the seems in Sands.

Well I stopped by the other day to use some more of my comps and there was a game going so I played for 4 hours. There are two regs in the game now playing for rake back that are rude and trying to make the game as unpleasant as possible for any tourist that sits in the game. I think these guys only want to play with fellow grinders wanting rake back. Two tourist sat next to me and both looked at each other saying how serious this game seemed for 1/3.Then one of them accused them of being married and they didn't even know each other. It was so bad.

This, along with the dumb promo, is the reason this room is so bad. I don't understand how the room is still open but the Linq is closed. It's a shame.

They are a short walk from Venetian and Mirage and a slightly longer walk to Wynn and Caesars so why even have a room there?

Doesn't sound like the regs are that good if they don't even want to play with tourists in a 1/3 game.

I overheard the big boss say they are going to start charging for parking but you can get it comped by just giving casino a little action.

You only get $10 an hour if you play 60 hours. Most of the time you'll be playing 4 or 5 handed with mega nits and 1 short stacked tourist. They take $2 out at $10 when you're playing 4 handed.

Friendly staff though and $2 hour for food. Food choices do get old though

Thanks for this. My buddy and I will be stopping in with huge pockets with the specific plan on putting them in enough spots where they either go broke or decide the risk isn't worth rakeback. It should be fun, lots of fireball and beers, and hopefully some crying nits. I don't think these guys realize there are guys out there who specifically enjoy this kind of interaction with rat, poor, 1/3 players. I've been known to do dumber things with 4 or 5 hours.

Guess that shouldn't be a surprise with the Mirage being next door and Ruffin such a skinflint. The tram will probably be magically fixed once they start charging.

Ruffin said the part below several months ago. I think he sounded pretty excited about the possibility of charging for parking.

On MGM Resorts' controversial move toward adopting a pay-to-park policy, Ruffin said he's going to "wait and see if it spreads. If it spreads, I'm sure I'll join the party."

He didn't sound excited to me. He said if it spread, and it hasn't spread. Even so, I wouldn't like the idea of Mirage patrons using my garage. At least he can shut down the tram and force people to walk through his casino to get there.

"I'm sure I'll join the party" doesn't sound excited to you? I always thought he would have worded it differently if he wasn't excited about that.

In any case I'm expecting to see this spread.

There is a free tram that runs from TI to the front entrance of the Mirage. It's in a very weird place in TI and you either have to stumble on it or know where it is to find it. It goes over the side street between the two casinos and right by the Mirage parking garage and stops about 30 yards from the front doors of the Mirage. It's free and 100% automated to there is no driver. It just goes back and forth.

Quite honestly if you have to wait for it, you can walk on over to TI just ask quick but if you are lazy or its hot or cold it's not too bad of an option.

Tram is the worst out of all the free trams on the Strip.

i dunno steve. I think the aria/crystals/bellagio tram is pretty aweful as well considering.

edit: btw it is rather pathetic that some of the RB "grinders" at the TI are legitimately doing this for $10/hr. I guess there's a shortage of jobs, but this is lol sad.

It's in just about the perfect place if you want to go to the Mirage but want to save money by parking at TI. Right inside the entrance from the garage. People are going to wait a couple minutes, worst case, for the tram rather than schlep luggage all through TI, down the sidewalk, and into Mirage.

I don't like that tram either but at least it consistently runs. The TI/Mirage one often isn't even working.

Its only sad do to how bad the games are and how infrequently they run to get 60 hours in you probably have to spend a additional 25 lingering for games to start so there's no way you have time for a regular job.

The big problem is its a bitch to get to the TI poker room and boring NLH can be played anywhere at much more convenient locations they should look at spreading 1-1 PLO although clearly they don't want too many people taking advantage of the promotion which is counterintuitive.

I wanna say it disappears during the winter months, or at least it did the last couple years when I called the poker room.

The 1-1 PLO at Harrah's can't get a game going, so I'd be suspicious if TI could get that running any time soon. The TI used to spread a 3-6 mixed game, which was ALWAYS full whenever I was there. They have a high turnover rate for dealers, though, so maybe the new staff doesn't know the games.

To be fair (or, to belabor the point, depending on how you look at it) - the tram between TI and Mirage is down for maintenance a lot, as are the escalators going from the parking garage to the main casino floor. If I run their 10pm nightly eight times a month, I'd say either the tram or the escalator is down on two of those visits. And this started long before MGM started charging for parking.

The Linq was well known as the place for that game, and although I heard it ran from time to time, I never saw it run, nor more than two names on the list.

2p2'er LasVegasMichael drove that game. I guess he lost interest and the game died without him driving it. Or maybe because it had moved to the IP/Quad and they closed their room.

I heard about a blond that got trapped on that escalator for 3 hours when it suddenly broke down when she was on it.

Parking notwithstanding, I wouldn't make something that took customers away from my casino to another one, my highest priority either.

What's the current line on CET joints charging for parking at this time next year, 2 to 1?

Oh shyte! With UFC 202 coming up Saturday I remember that Kahunaville was my go-to for watching these fights while in Vegas.

Any good suggestions for an alternative, in TI or elsewhere?

Here's the one thing most players don't know you can easily get your 60 hours per week easily you show up at 10 am and they put your card on the clock you automatically start getting hours if no games start up which usually they don't start till after 1pm so there's 3 free hours off the rip bring a laptop with you though. I did it 2x and got my 600 easily and still made profit from the nitty games.

According to Bravo they don't open until 1pm Mon-Thurs and 11 on Fri-Sun.

I noticed it a few weeks ago.
