I did it 2x and got my 600 easily and still made profit from the nitty games.

That sounds like a real thrill.

If you are a break even player, and unemployed, how is this not a win? even comes with benefits

Because break even players are losing players in this game

Just think about what game you are playing in when you're playing with a table full of people all thinking that same thing.

If your a break even player in 1/2 in general, and you are telling me that now that there are a ton of nits sitting the game that now he's a losing player thats still ok. If he runs at -$5hr for 60 hours and still receives $600 for his labors, thats like receiving a 50 hour paycheck from mcdonalds to sit at the table all week without falling asleep.

Assumed you have a bankroll to play the game, and also are unemployed, how is this not a win.

One would even get comped meals to the tune of $120 plus liquor. Win/win

It is a win win if your a smart player problem is it will only work for an unemployed person or retired person. i did it 2x and it's exhausting i would do it again I just don't have the hours to do it I do work full time. So I only have time to play once or twice a week.

Would or should a good player with a $2k roll and living expenses taken care of feel comfortable in this game if he strives for 60 hours but gets at least 40 hours a week?

Same situation if you're a break even player or a marginally winning player either/or will work but you better bring stuff with you to do if a game isn't running but hey you still getting paid if the game isn't running!!

Appreciate the feedback, but from this thread people have said the game is tough... not your ordinary game. Is it mostly tight aggressive players or just a grind because it's such tight nitty game?

As long as you break even you still make money. It's not hard at all.

They just reduced the number of tables overall from 7 to 5. This is really going to suck during the series when they actually have cash games and their nightly tournaments get 50+.

The game isnt tough at all. its 1/2. Show me a tough 1/2 game. it could never be considered tough if you are participating due to the promotion. Bottom line, period. If you can play 1/2 break even this is a win.

It's full ring with 4+2 drop. You can't beat nits.

I've seen both in heavy promo rooms. Sometimes games are okay/good. Other times they are basically unbeatable.

When the games are 8 nits and you $10 an hour doesn't make up the difference. Games were awful when they had the freeroll.

Just because they reduced the tables doesn't mean they can't increase them come WSOP time. They put the tables in storage so they can increase when they need to.

But the poker room is now under the purview of the table games manager. If they can't make their own decisions, I worry that they'll get stuck in a bureaucratic bog.

Wow that's crappy to mix Table games and poker under one manager?? I didn't know they did that how long has it been like that?

I heard about it around Christmas time, maybe a little later. Not sure when that decision was made.

Nothing has changed except now there is a 3-6 limit game going daily too. One 1/3 no limit table and one 3-6 limit game both have the same rake back deal.

What are the chances they could get a 4-8 limit game going? The former Venetian crowd that used to spread 3 tables back in the day may play.
