It's increasingly difficult. My late father owned a manufacturer sales rep agency for 35 years representing some of the biggest companies in the industries. In the old days he could just requested extra "Rep" badges with someone's name on it and it was no problem. Eventually they cracked down and required a business card for the company with the persons name on it. Now SHOT says clearly in their registration that a business card is not guaranteed good enough.
The year my dad sold his company and retired and he and I started another business in the industry that same year. When we registered for the show, they denied us. Long story short, it literally took a signed letter from our banker to "prove" that we were a legit new business in the industry.lol
Heck after attending the show for 3 years, I moved my officer after my dad's passing and they denied my application the next year. They said the business address change looked suspicious so the system kicked it out. I had to call to get it straightened out.
They really are getting serious. But then again, it used to fit well within the convention center in New Orleans and now it's busting at the seems in Sands.
