So the wildest thing happened to me last night. In my apartment complex, it's shared laundry and I left an entire load of clothes in the dryer overnight. I realize it about 7am this morning, check the laundry room and my clothes are gone. LMAO. That's some hood **** for ya.
Not that much of a bad beat as it was mostly t shirts, undewear, socks, etc. No big deal as it will make my packing a lot lighter. I'll just buy underwear and socks when I get to Vegas. Maybe this can start a new tradition of run good.
Speaking of run good, tilted from the beat on my clothes, I went to my local casino MGM National Harbor for a morning session to add to the roll. Everyday there's a lucky tables promo where one table at random is picked once an hour and everyone at that table gets $300. This brings a very promo nit crowd usually and at their 1/3, action is always very straightforward and void of big gamblers.
I bought in for $250 at 11:30 am, planning on a hit and run double up session as I had to be somewhere at 2:30 pm. The very first hand I pick up 88 in MP with a $6 straddle and $12 raise out. I flat the $12 and 6 see a flop of
7s5d3s. The short stack leads out for $10 and is snap raised by the BB to $35. I complete the call and we go 4 to a turn of 5c. Action checks to me and I lead out for $40. I get a caller behind and the short stack is all in for ~$20, the BB completes the $40 call. At this point we have a ~$300 pot. The river brings a 5s. The BB checks to me and I lead out for $90. The button goes into the tank and folds his A high flush face up. At this point I'm furious because there's action behind, but the BB goes into the tank for about 3 minutes before folding his 7 (55577) so I get no action on my river bet because the donk on the button folds his Ace high flush face up with action behind. Nevertheless it's a great start with a $300 pot.
The game eventually gets boring with guys not really giving much action. The table was very slow in every hand rather than table switch, I bagged up a +$389 session in a little under 2 hours. Pretty much freerolling the trip.
It's been a year since I've been to Vegas and I'm pumped. I'm sure it will be a slow week for poker, but my plan is to get 30 hours in over the course of 4 days. This will be made up of Daily MTTs in the morning and cash at night. Most of my play will be at MGM, Planet Hollywood, Aria, and maybe Golden Nugget if I decide to do a night downtown. If you want fancy food and club pics, you will not get that here. But you will get as close as possible to a live TR doing a lot of casino jumping, along with some "hidden gems" of Vegas that I absolutely love.
Pic related, session earlier today.
