After cashing in my $500 ticket from the penny WOF machine I walked back to The D and to hang out at Longbar. I drank a few cocktails played a little VP and after a couple hours decided I better head back to my room to grab some sleep before my morning plane ride back to Dallas at 9:30. I was +640 on the day pulling me out the red making me a winner for the trip +115 booking my first winning trip in my last 5 adventures. I was feeling a bit hungry so I grab two dogs from American Coney and took them back to the room for a midnight snack

I arrived back at Dallas the next day and found my truck in the parking garage around 2pm. I've already began planning my next trip looking around the end of September, even entertaining thoughts of maybe going to Reno for that trip, but I know I'll be back in Vegas with the wife the week before Christmas. I'm traveling out to Ruidoso on Tuesday, mostly be playing golf and hitting the horse track but I'm sure there will be a trip or two to the casino during the five days. If I can remember to snap some pics I'll post them on this thread when I get back and some slow time at work.

Sounds like my schedule, although I don't always make it to midnight, with the time zone change and too many years of getting up at 5:45AM for work. On the flip side, I always try to squeeze in one long walk at 6:30AM. Vegas early morning, the sights you see are priceless.

Nice TR. Question though: since when is Dallas "west Texas"?

The deli in the back of the Golden Gate is the nuts for quick, solo dining.

I agree with you on Hash a Go Go. It seems to have many fans, but I find two days worth of calories in a breakfast gross.

The Gold Coast is an excellent place to cure your VP itch, but downtown has many choices also such as the Fremont and California. For a change of pace, check out the old school coin operated 9/6 JOB machines on the 2nd floor in the California. Bring a few rolls of quarters....

Sounds like a great trip, thanks for sharing.

Worth checking out for breakfast or lunch near The Plaza is a place called MTO. It's on same side of Main St. when you walk out of the Plaza and are facing Fremont just turn right and walk about 150 yards.

Awesome TR! Excellent variety of casinos, excellent variety of food with great pictures, and a great variety of games. Seriously a great trip report. It's not too long/wordy but enough to explain everything.

Please post again when you return. You sound like a great Vegas buddy in that you play everything, run decent enough, and enjoy good food and some good drinks.

Cheers...to more TRs!

Just saw this trip report. One of the better ones I've seen, since I can relate to it much more than the Robuchon, bottle service, hookers and blow ones.

Just one thing..it is "Fremont" not "Freemont"..sorry to be so nitty..

I crush 2 or 3 of those things every time I'm out late downtown. Elite drunk/midnight snack type food. Great TR! I'm in Vegas every March Madness as well. I'll hit you up a couple weeks out next year and maybe we can meet up for a beer while catching the games.

Not a big fan of Texas, but I cant deny the cuisine you cant go wrong with grilling and fire pitting everything and texas may rival Canada regarding bacon love, im from New Mexico and we pride ourselves in our chilli and get murdered by Texas every year in those interstate competitions.
