About 6-8 months ago a story circulated the poker room at Crown (Melb/Aus) of a young chick the night before who came to the casino with $200 and ran it to near $3million playing blackjack then moving to baccarat.

She then lost it all playing 200k a hand and cried at the table when it was all gone. Lots of people hovering around tables watching, she played out in the open for most part then played upstairs in the Mahogony room where still plenty of people can rail who are in the room.

I would not bet my life on this story, however at the time of hearing it, it seemed legit
Once in a blue moon something like this is possible, but the Crown in Melbourne is absolutely pathetic for odds for blackjack. In my opinion it's almost criminal.

Autoshuffle only.
Only double a 9,10,11
No re-splitting
Dealer doesn't peak at the hole card
and if you're playing under $50/hand it's "blackjack plus", where dealer pushes on a 22.

Read that last one again. It's absurd, and yet the tables were full. Odds are just so stacked against you that I just find this hard to believe.

"regression to the mean." google it.
It was heads. 10,001 heads in a row. What's your next move?

10,000 heads in a row, Im allin on heads cause chances are its not a fair coin

edit: just in case you are not leveling, the sumbers will even out in the long run only in relative numbers, not absolute. after 100 throws it might be 55-45, so we have absolute deviation of 10, relative of 10%. after 1000 it might be 520-480, so absolute its now 40 (more), but relative its 4% (less)

Not my biggest win or anything, but probably my favorite.

I think it's every gamblers dream to clean the dealer out of their rack. I'm in Peru right now and gambled a bit at our hotel. Went on a good streak at blackjack ($400 sol max, ~$150usd). Won about 8000sol, and last bet of 400sol x 2 (double down) they had to pay me out with 40x 20sol chips. I took all the 100 and 500 chips (only had like 6 500 chips).

Felt pretty good, istaquit after that hand. I had teetered at the edge a few times before where I would have broke the dealer if I had won but finally did it after the 4th attempt

One of my buddies recently won around $100K two weeks ago (Im pretty sure it was the RiverRock casino in BC Canada)

I still have to get the details from him. Who knows though, by the time I see him I might just get a sick degen story lol.

I heard he was sitting in the highstakes room by himself, went on a sick heater to $80K or something, downswung to $40k, then won back up to $100 and stopped. No idea how much he started with but I'd guess $5k at most (probably less). I don't play table games but definitely a bit jealous haha maybe he'll hook up a Stud Hi $1500 WSOP stake... 1 time!

What's the usual limit (min/max bet per hand) at the big casinos in Vegas, such as Bellagio, Aria, Wynn, MGM?

I'll to go Vegas this summer, it will be my first time! that's the reason why I'm asking.

Really don't know if you're trolling right now or not.

I thought casinos like O'Sheas, Hooters and El Cortez are the ones who offer 5 bucks / hand at BJ.

There are very few $5 min tables left in the country. They are out there though, usually at the low end casinos and sometimes only in the mornings/weekdays. As far as maximums, you can get about anything you are looking for.

There are more $5 min tables than some of you think. Stations properties have $5 min tables with the exception of RR and GVR on weekends.

A little backstory, at the time I was just purely gambling for a living. I had made my gf almost 2k that week that I let her keep.

So we went to just have drinks at the bar. I brought exactly $100 with me for the drinks and cause I was gonna try not to gamble and just spend time with her. I pay the bill of like seventy something dollars and we get ready to leave. She goes let's go play, I tell her no, she says use this hundo that she takes out of the 2k I let her keep. After telling her no about 3 times I say **** it, ill go play and lose it so I can go back to the house and stick it in her.

After bout 15mins I have $700. She says let's go, I say no and keep playing. Next thing you know I'm rockin and rollin. There's 3 suits watching me, and one keeps telling me with my luck I should go play megabucks. I tell him no, I'm good, I'm takin you guys for $500 a hand here lol! At one point I was playing 2 hands of $500 each. I put 1k on 1 hand twice, first hand of 1k I double and push. 2nd hand I have an ace and 4, I double for another 1k and pull a 4. Dealer has a 5 up. He has an ace under. First card out he gets a jack of diamonds. I tell him come on break bro, he proceeds to pull a 5 of hearts!

After that hand I keep playing $500 a hand and at my high point I'm at exactly $15.5k. Now they're changin the dealer every few hands cause every time a new dealer comes in they burn a card.

During the shuffle I'm on the phone with my friend back in NY and he's screamin at me to get up and cash out. I proceed to lose 7 hands, pick up my 12k left and head to the cashier. I give my gf $2500 to cash in at one window and I take the $9500 to another. They give me a huge hassle about the over 10k structuring, hand me a card with info about it and ask for my ID. I tell them they don't need my ID, just give me my cash. After a little back and forth I go to the window my gf is at, take the 5 pink/purple chips put them in my pocket and then the lady gives me my $9500. I went back 2days later with the rest and was in and out in 5mins with the rest. A few days later my gf thinks she's entitled to half of my winnings. Even her mom tells her to STFU, that she doesn't deserve anything. After having an argument about it I wind up taking 5k and throwing it right in her greedy whore face and tell her to ****ing choke on it and die and I never talked to her again.

I'm still pissed off that I gave her the 5k, but always smile when I tell about that run and scowl when I think about the 5k I blew by throwing it in her face.

Here's my sick but true story.

I've never sat down at a blackjack table with more than 1k. Multiple times I've had more than 25k on the table. One time I've had more than 40k at the table. The most I've ever pulled off the table and walked out with was less than 4k. Gross.... I know.

Got drunk one night and staggered over to TI from our room at Harrah's. I bought in for like $2-300, my buddy buys in with his last $45. We won to the point that people were stopping to watch. I don't remember good portions of it, but we each ended up with almost 10k.

dont remember the exact hands or anything from the borgata a while ago.

my friend owed me like $3k who was coming on the trip so he brought the $ i owed him but we traveled down separately because i had to come back earlier. so before he showed up, i went down and took $500 out of the ATM, and lost it immediately betting between $50-100/hand.

He showed up, and we immediately went into the high limit area at borgata. Got my $3k from him, and started with betting $100/hand.

So my usual blackjack strategy is to bet big. Obviously my stack isnt enough to take any big swings, so most trips end up with me losing my loss limit but i prefer to potentially win big (or lose it all) than grind out a small win/loss.

Fluctuate a bit, and i get to the point where i have $1k left. I have a 11, dealer has like a 2, 3 or 4 (dont remember). I'm out of cash to double down, so i just have to take a card. get some ****ty card (2, 3, or 4) so I'm sweating at this point. dealer ends up busting and i'm back in business.

After that point, every time i sat down, it seemed like i would go on a hot streak. Multiple times I would tell my friends I've hit a good point and would stop playing for the trip. first $10k, $20k, $30k, etc, etc. Not sure what got through my head, but i decided it would be a sweet idea to bet $5k/hand. I think i won one, lost one, then won 2 in a row. at this point i realized i was sitting on over $40k in profits (risking only $3k) and stopped playing for the rest of the trip (I only stayed one night so just watched my friends play rest of night and left next morning).

==

on the flip side, was in vegas earlier this year and brought like $5k for gambling. some friends showed up with me around 1 or 2pm, but others not until before dinner time. before dinner, i was up $13k. ended up losing all of the profits + more over the next 2 days. The last night my friend and I were combining stacks and betting $1k/each. at one point we thought we were going to make a comeback but had the sicko double down hand where you pull a 20 but the dealer pulls a 5 or 6 card 21. after that we lost 5 or 6 hands in a row and that was that.

(again, well aware my bet sizing is way too large for my bankroll each trip, but thats the way i prefer to play. win big or lose it all. no small wins/losses for me. am a recreational player, no counting. as seen above, vary bet sizes focused on trying to maximize profits and not minimize losses...will put in big bet, i.e. rest of stack, to try and get back to even)

I played BJ on party poker years ago the first day they came out with it. I ran up 22k with a table max bet of $200 and quit up 17k. I thought they must have rigged it in my favor as it was brand new and they wanted to suck people in.

I just remember hearing "Congratulations your a winner!" non stop.

One of my best friends in college won 30k at online blackjack in like 2002. It took them like 3 months to process his cashout, then they sent him $9,900 at a time. We were gathered in his room yelling and screaming as he ran the $500 up to $30k, was awesome.

A friend of mine playing a super-sat before the main event in 2005 because he was busto and couldn't afford the buy-in. He calls me on a break with 10 people left to bust and tells me he is going to ship a ME seat. A bunch of us show up to rail him and he ends up bubbling (partly because he is an idiot and partly because the floor didn't go hand for hand until way too close) and instead of shipping a 10k ME seat, he ends up with $300. Crushed, he and a couple of buddies decide to get hammered and light the rest of his cash on fire at blackjack. Its like 6am, so I beg off and crash. When I wake up the next morning, it turns out he dropped down to $150 and then went on a super-heater and ran his roll up to $35,000 in less than 2 hours. He ends up buying in directly and buying half the action of everyone he knew. Of course, he busts out on day one like a monkey one of the guys he buys ends up winning 120k or something and he ends up turning $150 into 60k. This stuff never happens to me.

Neither of these involves me but here are two recent ones from Hollywood Columbus. The first I doubt I believe but there were a few poker dealers talking about a guy that walked in with $1000 and walked out with $123,000. I kind of have to call BS on that one.

The next is one that happened last week. Guy walks in with $1000 betting $50 a hand and runs that up to about $36,000. How do I know it’s true…because the guy takes it in cash from the cashier cage and heads home. Shockingly wakes up a couple hours later to 3 guys in his bedroom with guns beating the ***** out of him screaming “where is the cash bitch!”
End of story, 2 thieves in custody and 1 on the run.

Bump of an awesome thread.

Was 20 at the time with no job but was making money playing poker. A friend and I went to Atlantis [He had qualified for the PCA tournament in the year Elky won]. I only brought about a G with me and got slaughtered in blackjack. I was down to $100 and went on a sick heater which got me to about $900. I then proceeded to back my friend in craps for $200 and he went on a run where a sexy lady rolled a winner about 23 straight times and I got half the winnings [About $700]. Later won 11/12 in sports over 2 days.

Easy game.
