About twice a week I go place sports bets at the stations casino by my house and throw down $20 on the $5min 6 deck bj game. I play 2 hands of $10 and stop when A. I lose the $20 or B. I run it up to $100 profit. Well yesterday I got to my stop point of $100 profit and decided to double my bets and keep going. I cashed out +960. I thought it was pretty amazing.

I've read a lot of success, sad degen and just downright funny stories coming outta vegas though.

LOL, if thats the worst you've ever done you should consider yourself a winner. And never play again.

My buddy was waiting for his room to be ready at Flamingo and sat down at BJ table. Bought in for 300 or so, playing quarters to start off. He works it up to 40K while pounding scotch the whole time.

He puts 10K in his pocket swearing to himself that that cash is never coming out on the table again.

He hits a downswong and is playing his last $500 chip (besides the 10K in his pocket) and gets 11 vs a dealer's 6. Reaches into his pocket so he can double down, loses, and proceeds to lose the rest of the 10K he had stashed.

The following day he had a similar run, but topped off at 18K and lost all of that back too.

Best live run-up was $50 into $6500 at Bellagio several years ago and online at UB -- $40 into $5k. Also had a $100 into $5k at InterCasino.

Most I've run up was like $1,500 and I got scared and cashed out. I need an epic run in my life...

If I ever was up 40k at bj, I would leave immediately and never play again. But 40k means different things to different people I guess

This is what I said earlier. If I got to 40k I would quit but I honestly would have stopped at 3k. I always think I short change myself by stopping my runs to early or not pressing the next bet when I am on a Heater.

I'd never make it to plus 40k.

heard story from a friend of the legend himself. guy is a sushi chef and huge degenerate, one weekend at foxwoods spins up 120~k from maybe a thousand or two and loses it all. nothing like making a multiple of yearly salary and losing it all in the span of three days, max he was betting was around 5k/hand

problem is, YOU personally will never run a buyin up to $40k because you think like this.

The guys that turn $500 into $40k are ones that are pressing big and parlaying big wins. Also why it turns so fast.

On another note, I put $100 onto carbon poker a week ago and spun it up to $5k playing BJ. My friend called me to let me know he was 5 minutes away from my place. I told him drinks were on me all night cause I was up $5k.

Spoiler:
account was at zero when he got there 5 minutes later

If I had not been standing/sitting next to him the entire time, I wouldn't have believed it...

On my bachelor party trip April of 2010, a buddy of mine sat down at a $10/hand BJ table with $200 at the Monte Carlo and ran it up to just over $40K in six hours or so. Absolutely the sickest thing I've ever seen...oh wait, not it wasn't...the sickest thing I've ever seen was his losing ALL OF IT BACK inside of ONE HOUR (though not before he tossed me a $1K chip and said "Congrats man").

We tried to talk him off of the table, but he wouldn't listen (was belligerently drunk). Finally he left but only after giving it all back. It was truly sad.

I've had a lot of runs that were more profitable than this (I do have willpower to walk away up a large amount) but this one happened last month.

Sat down with $500 at a $15 table, betting around $30-40 a hand. I am getting crushed. It's brutal. After an hour or so I'm down to one $25 chip and $25 free play coupon not good until the next day (a few hours away, which I thought I would make it to).

I have my last $25 bet out and I pick up an 11 vs 8. The pit boss has been watching and I think she feels "sorry" for me at this point (feigned guilt knowing I'm helping keep her employer in business). I ask if I can use the $25 coupon and she says I can because it won't be collected until the next day anyways. I get the card face down and the dealer ends up making a 3 card 20. I need a 9 to push or 10 to win and fortunately I get the win.

$75 "stack" now. Decide to bet green chips until I bust. I run it up a little and decide to start pressing my bet with some reds. I don't lose a hand (a couple pushes) for about 12 hands, hit 3 blackjacks, a few good double downs... all while pressing my bets. By the time I lose a hand I had about $120+ out there. In under an hour I run my last $25 chip into $900. Walked out up a few hundred and very grateful.

I almost never play blackjack but whenever I do I run hotter than the sun.

1: Ran $10 freeplay on pacific or something to 2k when I was 15, got a check overnighted and felt like a boss.

2: Talking Stick Resort - Apr 2011 - sit down with $100 betting $25 a hand, leave with 7k an hour later. Think I was steady betting $500 from $1k+.

I'm glad I don't have the blackjack bug.

I was going to post something like this dating back to when I was a brokeass college student. I have so many bad memories surrounding the game I hardly ever play it at all. Amidst all that, one session when I was like 22, I ran $3 into 120 or something. Felt like I had been rescued from a dungeon

Not really a run but I am here at the stratosphere now waiting on the 7pm tournament. Did my usual throw $20 on a 5 min table. 2 hands of $10. Ran it up to $150 when this hand happened. Dealt 77 on first hand and J6 on other hand. Dealer upcard is 3. I decide to split the 77. Two more sevens dealt out, I split on both hands. After dealing to splits, I have 710, 79, 7K and another 77, not allowed to split last 77. Stay on all. Dealer busts. First time I have ever reached a cap on splits. Thought it was pretty cool.

The story would be much better is we knew how much you originally bet on the last hand on each hand and how much you ended up with total from the $20 after the hand.
