Later won 11/12 in sports over 2 days.

Easy game.
Hold on. Your friend was at a craps table that hit 23 points. And he only won 1400? Pretty sure world record is around 40-some points. And that's easily breaking 100 - 200k in profit with no problem even if you're clueless at craps. Soooo I'm just gunna call BS.

Not all of them were hit points, she also hit a few 7s and 11s on the come out roll. We were probably standing at the table for a good 2 hours while this streak was going on. It was pretty early in the morning and we had staff waiting around to close up [For whatever reason, the casino there actually briefly closes. This was 2008 so not sure if they still do or not]. They didn't end the table until she finally crapped out. And yes, he only won about 1400. This was literally the first time he ever played craps at a casino and I didn't even know anything but the basic bets at the time [He was 18, I was almost 21].

Not me but my oldest son about 8-9 years ago, forgive me if this breaks any rules.

His girlfriend and him just got back from five weeks in Europe and her dad invites them to Vegas for the SEMA show, he is in the automotive industry and gets comped almost everything by vendors.

So they are playing BJ at the old/small Boardwalk casino on the strip and he goes broke. His girlfriend gives him a $5 chip for a hand of BJ. He gets a suited BJ, like the AJ of clubs, and they have a promotion going where he gets to spin a wheel for amouts from $25 to a top prize of $500.

He hits the $500. Lady running the wheel tells him she has worked there for about 2.5 years and has NEVER seen anyone hit the $500. He proceeds to take the houses money and bet green chips at BJ and runs it up to $5000!! Big crowd around him, tipping the dealers a green per hand, pit bosses sweating the action in that tiny dump of a casino. When he gets to the cage they take like 40 minutes to pay him, the whole time they are trying to get him back to the table.

He calls me and I tell him to take the money and run cuz if he's anything like his old man he's going to give it all back. Amazingly he does the smart thing and pays off his girlfriends (now wife with 3 kids) credit card off that she used on the European vacation. So proud.

PS: if someone rolled 23 points at the craps table I was on, I would own the casino. Gotta press those bets.

Sad, I know. But he was a teenage kid who luck boxed his way into qualifying for the PCA Main Event via satellite and had never even sniffed that much money before that.

I love threads like this and love reading stories about amazing runs. I am happy to post one of my own. Three days ago I went to play a few hands of blackjack to blow off some steam. Cashed in $300…10 hours later cashed out for $20k. I was playing basic strategy and was playing the 'high tie' bonus. Sucker bet, I know but it accounted for the large chunk of my winnings.

one of my first trips to Laughlin, NV. Early in the morning, six deck shoe, the dealer didn't win ONE HAND! I cashed out like $1k (just couldn't bet big at the time), guy next to me, construction worker/laborer was up to about $10k the proceeded to lose it all back. Saw him in the parking lot crying.

A friend of mine in 2006 cashed in a WSOP event and was dead broke but after paying makeup he had like 8k. We went over to Bellagio and he jumped in 25/50NL with Phil Laak, yes he has no BR management at all. He quickly doubled up and cashed out.

Then he hit High limit Black Jack playing like $50-$500 and quickly won another 5 or 6k.
For the next 3 weeks he proceeded to play high limit black jack and 10/20nl and 25/50nl hold em and ran it up to 700k, no kidding. He had a box at WSOP with tons of 5k chips and bricks of $100's.

I knew he would go busto any day tho, how sick is that right. Sure enough he lost several 100k back to the black jack tables in a few weeks. Never bought a house or a car mind you. Went back to Florida with maybe 100k and came back to Vegas/LA for the big WPT legends. He did cash small in that tourney but shortly after was totally broke again.

This guy is calling me up asking for a stake now. Total Degen. lol

that's what degens do

700k in the bank with the S&P paying like 30% right now (white hot variance) Even if you could make just 10% interest/dividends that would be a good living without touching the principle.

One time, I was up about 2k for the trip, and went to the wynn with my parents. No 25$ table was open, so I decided to 1v1 the dealer at 50$ for 500$ total (I know, I know...)

Anyway, I have them bringing patron shots non stop and im pissed because they dont give me blue label. I decide to play till they will bring me blue label. My GF is sleeping on my shoulder, and im hammered. Next thing I know, I have a 6 k stack in front of me, but I still want my blue label, even though I could've gone and bought my own damn bottle. Next thing I know, there's 2 other people at the table betting 2k per hand, and I only have 1.3k I decide to go buy my bottle after after they go bust. Good times

Not sure how playing against the house, in an unbeatable game, is fun. People who play blackjack lose a little bit of respect from me.

Nobody cares about getting respect from you...get over yourself. Clearly a ton of people find blackjack to be fun since it is a popular staple in just about every casino. Every game in a casino is unbeatable to the average player yet casinos are attractive to just about everyone out there. Just because you don't get it, it doesn't mean it's bad.

On a side note, who loses more respect from you? Someone who spends $100 to go see a sporting event or some who takes $100 to the BJ table (any table game) and plays for a while? To me it's someone spending money to see a sporting event. They can see it for "free" on TV and have a much better view of the action. Different strokes for different folks. Get out of this thread if you're just going to whine.

More of a weird/improbable story more than a good run, but a good run nonetheless:

Friend and I are finishing up a poker session at an Oklahoma casino. Normally we play a little bit of slots/ table games before leaving just for ****s. Blackjack is almost unbeatable because of the ****ing 50 cent rake they take on every hand, but we sit down at a table anyway.

We're each up about $200 over the next hour or so, but before we leave my friend decides to make a $100 bet. Friend gets dealt 3 3 with the dealer showing a 2. He splits the 3 3 and gets a ten on the first hand (always staying on 13) and another 3. Same thing happens, splits his hand and gets a ten on the first hand, and gets another 3. This time when he splits, he gets a ten on the first hand, and an 8 on the second hand. At this point my friend is busto, so I lend him one of my $100 chips so he can double on his eleven. Just like clockwork, the dealer pulls out a nice crisp.... ace of spades... for four hands of 13, 13, 13, 12, totaling $500.

The rest of the table finishes playing their hands pretty uneventfully while a small crowd gathered around our table. The action finally reaches the dealer, who reaches across her upcard to show.... another 2 (total of 4). The dealer slowly pulls out the next card, 5 (total of 9). Obviously we are sweating bullets, when the dealer flips her next card... 6 (total of 15). At this point we're screaming for a monkey, as the dealer flips over an ace (for a total of 16). At this point, several people from our table, as well as a few onlookers, are screaming "monkey", which in turn is getting several looks from other tables and the floor. Sure enough, the dealer pulls the prettiest ten of diamonds you've ever seen, for a $500 payday. The table just erupts. My friend hands me back a $100 chip, and tosses $25 to the dealer. That one hand made him a net BJ winner for 2011 (of the maybe 5 times he played).

I've never had a run, but a good buddy of mine had a redeeming one a few years back, nothing huge, but the best I've ever been a part of.

Joe landed in Vegas on Thursday somewhere around noon, while I'm on my way to meet him there later that night. He calls while I'm at the airport telling me he's down $1500 on blackjack and has only been there about two hours. Now, he's far from broke, but $1500 gone in two hours is a tough hit to his bankroll for the weekend. I tell him to stop, go somewhere and drink, and I'll be there in a few hours and we can re-assess. I get there, he's down closer to 2k and not enjoying vegas at all... this was his mood for most of the weekend.

Fast forward to Saturday night, he's down close to $2500, all on Blackjack. I'm up a few hundred from poker, and our two other buddies who came into town for the weekend are basically even. The plan for Saturday night to go to the club so we decide to go gamble for a bit to get some drinks in us, and then head out. I sit down at poker, they go off to the pits. Two hours later, one of our mutual friends comes to my table to tell me the good news, "Joe went on a sick heater and is up 3.5k!!"... Won what he makes in a month in two hours. I'm still waiting for something like this to happen to me
