Going to be in Vegas for 4 days midweek in Feb. staying at Caesars

I'm a TAG rec player who is pretty good at MTTs ($100 - $200), and OK at 1/2 1/3 cash (marginally winning).

I've usually played Aria MTTs - I like the deeper slower structure and I like the room. Any other deep stack recommendations? As for cash, I like the Aria room, I like Caesars, would probably prefer tables with a little more action than the OMCs and grinders.

Any advice appreciated.

Have a good trip to Vegas. I thought PHO & Harrah’s had the most NL action tables in the rooms I played in October.

While I won’t play at there, you should see if the Venetian has any of their deep stack events going on your dates. You can also check out poker atlas to see what rooms run daily’s. If I remember correctly, Aria and Venetian tend to get more people in their daily events than other rooms, but I’m sure that can change.

I’ve heard that the 1/2 & 1/3 games at lower tier properties don’t have as many regs, but I don’t think that even at Aria you are going to have a table full of regs at those stakes.

Personally I prefer Aria due to the room and their staff, but also because I mainly play PLO which runs daily. I’m doing a solo trip starting tomorrow and might actually head to some other rooms to play NL. The new room at the Wynn is supposed to be really nice, so I’m planning on checking it out.

There are probably more regs at lower tier rooms grinding promos.

Yeah, any room that is doing a promotion based on a set number of of hours is going to be filled with OMCs/promo grinders. If you look on Bravo it will show you what the monthly promotions are for each casino.

That's not to say you can never find good games at those properties, it's just not as likely as at other properties.

Aria/Wynn/Venetian, **** everything else. Bellagio if you go to Aria and games are dead/not running (only a relevant worry 2-3 hrs of the morning).

Best quality rooms, best comp rates, games with people willing to lose more than 50 bucks, why am I still listing things, best outlets to spend said comps on, Buehler?, most affluent recreationals in the hotel area, opening raises consistently >$6 which you cannot guarantee elsewhere, yada yada yada

Gl have fun

I cannot stand Venetian 1/2. Graveyard from all my experiences. 2/5 was better

If you like most stacks under $100 and preflop raises to $8 then give it a whirl

A lot of the Venetian 1-2 players are trying to see a lot of cheap flops because they mostly care about hitting the high hand promos and jackpots. If you show up and start raising a lot PF then you’re going to be really annoying to them.

Thanks for all the recs folks. I'll let you know how it goes.

I don’t think that’s true. If you show up, rarely raise PF and try to hit the promos then you’ll fit right in IMO.

A couple years ago is when i last went i really enjoyed Caesars. Dealers were friendly and the room was away from the slots.

Also went to the Bellagio. I hate slot machine noise and was sat at the Bellagio right next to the slots and it drove me nuts. Also the Bellagio let people cut in line when they tipped the floor, which i understand, but got annoying when you are waiting and you watch a guy slip a 20 (not sure of the denomination) to the floor and get seated right away.

I have had both worlds at Venetian. Have had tables with locals grinding promos and have had tables with pretty well-off recs on vacation trying poker out.
