Finally going to Vegas! After telling my gf over and over we should go she eventually said you just go since you'll be playing poker mostly, I don't want to go. I was going to book in Nov, but found out my friend is going end of Oct into Nov for SEMA to work the show with his company. His company has a hotel block at the Venetian and he will be staying there.

Since Mlife acquired Borgata, my comps are shared and I had a couple options available. Buy 1 night get 1 free at Bellagio and Aria; or 2 free nights everywhere else Sun-Thurs plus $50 resort credit. I wanted to stay somewhere somewhat nice, and a good location close to the B / Aria since I will be playing ssplo. I have narrowed it down to Mirage, MGM Grand, Monte Carlo, or NYNY. Any room is fine, hopefully the $20 trick will work. I might go to the pool, but not really a need.

My poker friends all say I need at least 1k per day to survive Vegas and not to go more than 3 nights. My SEMA friend doesn't gamble and says 150-200 a day is fine, and he is going for 10 nights. I plan on being on the safer side though.

He wants to walk Fremont and bar hop around random places and not go to any mega clubs and I am fine with that. We may dress up for Halloween also haha.

I am planning to just do whatever go with the flow the first day maybe place some sports bets, the second day play a daily tournament and some plo, the third day play some beej and whatever else, maybe go to SEMA.

Are you already registered for SEMA? If not, you can't get in, it's for industry people only. Also, if you can get in, you need to be committed to it because it's a huge pain in the *** because of the crowds. Just getting there and back is a challenge. If you're "meh, maybe" about it, just plan on not going.

Im not registered for it but my friend is with his company. He said he is able to get me a free guest pass? He did say going there and back is a challenge though.

Never heard of such a thing but maybe it's new. I haven't been there in several years.

really wanted to book the cosmo but its still about 500 a night there. im wondering, should i do all of my play there in hope to get comps? or keep going play at all mgm?

Cosmo doesn't have a poker room, but I've found that they're pretty loose with the comps

Depending on how much you bet per hand, if a $20 card counting book and 2 hours skimming it saves you even one $100 bet, it's prob worth it.

ha well see. bought a book and downloaded an app that tests you on the count, pretty addicting and difficult at same time though

Went to Wynn today it's gorgeous should have booked there played little 1 2 bc too early for plo to get off and left a 200 winner. Back at room now gonna hit pool then check out aria later

Still no plo games in this town looked at the rock game at aria seemed to nitty so might have to settle with some backpage for now. Find a white connect and deciding as well. Don't wanna feel like **** tomorrow but also want to let loose

I just got back from Vegas yesterday. Played every day from Thursday to Sunday and the 1/2/5 and 2/5/10 rock PLO games were fantastic. Must be the days of the week (although the 2/5/10 game was good on Sunday).

was gonna say i saw you write this somewhere else and was gonna comment that my games were atrocious. prob was days of the week. the regs were unpleasant nits as usual
