PLO AT FLAMINGO PLO AT FLAMINGO

THANKS to everyone who came out and played at the Flamingo this summer. The games were great, you guys were awesome. It was nice to put a face and name to some of your 2p2 handles. We are attempting to run PLO year round at the Flamingo Poker room. We are attempting to pitch our higher ups to allow the game to have 2x(double) comps and tier credits, so fingers crossed. If you're in Vegas stop by FLV some night... I'm there Monday night thru Friday night after midnight.

Take care.

Thanks, FLV. 1-1 PLO was a less-intimidating way for some of us to jump into PLO without getting eaten alive (although any PLO game seems to result in huge pots pretty quickly). Great way to get some PLO experience.

Does this mean it's still running, or on hiatus till you get the signoff for higher comps etc?

Checking in at the Flamingo tomorrow & looking forward to playing some PLO!

I think I'll pass...

"Poker room manager said, and I quote, "I have good news and I have bad news.. good news is we're looking at the footage, bad news is even if money was stolen off your stack we can't be liable for the chips..."

I played it when I was out there.

I was David or Dave - 33 year old

I was pretty chatty at the table and half the nights I was drinking =)

LOL. Bending the truth. I asked Andrew to see if they were in the casino still, as i couldn't leave the poker room at that time. Never did I ask him to retrieve the money himself. He also conveniently omitted that a short time later, when i was able... I did a lap around the casino floor to see if i could find the accused as well. Conveniently left that part out. If i could confirm that the accused were indeed in the casino, I could have surveillance watching them until this solution was resolved. We can't demand "stolen money" from a patron until we have concrete proof... and Andrew's claim is not concrete proof. If you choose to believe that we are "out to get" Andrew, then that is your prerogative. But believe me, losing my job is not worth some guys $100.

Hopefully we can fire it up... we didn't have a game today.

what's the thought process behind the 2x comps and TC? I noticed that the $2/$3NL games were being pushed earlier this year at places like Flamingo/PH/Bally's.

Is it because the pots will be consistently large enough to get full rake? Or just to try and get some more variety in the game selection? Attract players with a little more cash to the casino?

I was glad that I got to check out some PLO this summer. That's my favorite section of the strip.

I wish you would lower the min buyin to $50 again

It's just more incentive to get the games started.

that plus, players like the tier points to get to diamond status faster.

$50? I guess if you are strictly trying to attract beginner PLO players this could make sense, but if a player can only afford to buy in for $50 then maybe they shouldn’t be gambling.

While I mainly play higher stakes PLO, it is nice to see a room offering a 1/1 game for newer players. Aria has been the PLO hot spot for several years, but it is so over run with regs/pros it’s not fun anymore. Even the 1/3 game was filled with regs. Heck, one of the guys I played 5/10 with earlier this year was in the WSOP 25k PLO game.

A beginner is going to get felted 4 or 5 times before they even get their sea legs.

Maybe set up a .10/.20 game while he’s at it, or just play for literal peanuts.

Good point. Maybe they should try to run a "true beginners game" with a $50 buyin as well as the 1/1. Not sure if they can get both to run, but could be an option. Again, with so many reg plo players in vegas, it's good to see a lower stakes game that might not attract a bunch of regs.

I am stunned after all these years that the donk N/L mentality is still so prevalent.
Would like to see one of these small rooms offer only daily PLO tournies and ring games. Throw in decent comps etc and you`ll likely get a loyal base.

Why do you want a regular game at the flamingo when Aria already has developed reliable 1-2 and 2-5 PLO games?

Hate playing with Aria regs. I just hope they despise Flamingo enough to stay at Aria even if games are much better at the Flamingo.

Have you not read the thread? The Aria PLO games are filled with regs/pros, even at the 1/3 game. Back in January and March the 2/5/10 game had at least 6 if not 7 pros in every game. That’s just not fun for the majority of non pro players, not to mention -ev for non pros.
