I've never played live PLO and was looking for any insights people have on Aria's $1/3 and/or V's $1/2 PLO. I'm not just talking about during WSOP but all year long. Do the games play about the same? Is one place known for playing deeper than the other? Anyone have ideas on win rates possible for a 40 hour a week reg. ($2/5 win rates too)? Plus any other comments on live PLO in Vegas are appreciated.

Venetian 1/2 PLO is not a 1/2 game. Plays much bigger as you have to call 5 and can straddle for 5 also. Aria 1/3 PLO is what it says on the tin. No straddle allowed and 500 max buy in keeps it small.

I play both games a lot. the above is correct except Venetian $1/2 plo straddle is $10 and permitted on the button, so it happens often. The max buyin is $1000 and it plays about twice as big as the aria $1/3.

aria 1/3 is pretty soft (post-wsop) and beatable if you can get past some occasional variance (obv)

for an honest answer OP... if you've NEVER played plo, I really do not think you want to be walking into the Aria and plunking down $500 in the little game.

You will get eaten alive.

He said he's never played LIVE not that he hadn't played plo. Where do you expect him to start if not the lowest stakes?

Not trying to derail, but what about the 1/2 PLO at the rio

Yeah I've played plenty online, as ty71087 wrote, the key word was lowest LIVE stakes. My online play has been almost exclusively 6-max and I'm figuring live is mostly FR which would require some style tweaks in my game. And no problemo mschu18 it wasn't a derail by you or soccer. I left off Rio because I thought it was probably a Caesars-ish rake trap.

Also I'm not particularly happy with the online roll out of UP, the delayed roll out of WSOP, and the news that Party might skip an early roll out. And Merge, etc. can kiss my big black ass. So I'm looking into the viability of live PLO for 40 hours a week paying the bills. In another thread, I asked cush about the upper win rate limit on $2/5 NLH and he put it at about $50/hr for the best of the best. And I was hoping that some live PLO grinders would chime in here about the likely win rates at the live PLO since it seems the Aria/V stakes are different and play different deep wise (at least for the A's $1/3 no straddle game).

Another De-Rail. Choo Choo!

Any comments on the 1-2 PLO at Binions!

I play PLO online but would like to play smaller than a 500 buyin.

As OP, I'm calling there are no de-rails, anything about live PLO is fair game, bring it on.

Tonight, I'll be the guy at Aria wearing the "that's why I drink" tee shirt.

I just started playing micro plo online and would love to play a .50-1 or 1-1 PLO live game. Maybe the quad would run it, at least during the wsop.

And for aria/Venetian which waitresses look better?

Dont think any casino in vegas would run a plo game that small. Maybe at the 2p2 party

if you beat 50cent/1$ online you prolly beat 1/2 game at the venetian aswell.

sounds like aria is a good starter for you due to the BI cap, that way you could get a feel for the live game...and after youre comfy, go to the V cuz its deeper and adjust accordingly when you get to the table.

GL op

Meh. They charge time, which wouldn't be so terrible except about 80% of the time there is a problem calculating the pot and god forbid you run the board twice. It's just so much slower than aria or Venetian, where you can also run it twice, but the dealers are more competent at calculating pot. Plus the food/temperature situation is better. And no automatic shufflers. I would just avoid Rio for this particular game. I didn't notice that the action was that much better either.

You can buy in for $100-500. Min buyin for Venetian or Aria is $200. Rio allows button straddle for $5 or $10.

If you want to play small stakes PLO outside of WSOP, aria is the only consistent game in town. Venetian doesn't have the interest to run it every single day.

It's hard to say what a typical win rate is at 1/3 PLO but I would say it's around what $2/5 players are making, except mid-week, non-series you're playing with the same people all the time and it's hardly ever a good game.

I have to say, because of the variance that is unpossible and insustainable

if you bet 50/1 online, you'll actually crush the venetian 1-2 game, no doubt.
it doesn't run regularly like the aria, but when it runs, it's amazing

Why not just play on the Asian apps? I play 5 and 6-card on UPoker and PPPOKER in the greatest games known to mankind. If you live in Vegas I imagine you can find a reputable agent around somewhere.

In my experience, PLO pot sizes tend to be one level above their NL equivalent. For instance a 1/2 PLO game will have pot sizes that rival a 2/5 game. A 2/5 or 5/5 game will have pot sizes that rival a 5/10 NL game.

Sick bump

Anyone got any current intel as to the low stakes plo games as of late?

Poker atlas says there’s a 1/1 plo at the flamingo with a 100-500 bi... wondering how big this plays

If I’m looking to buy in for a plo game for about $200, what’s my best bet without getting eaten alive by rake or big stacks?

I've been in Vegas twice in the last ~month, and played mostly PLO.

Aria has a consistent 1/3 PLO game that has a 500 cap, with a couple players playing shorter than that. It's a $5 bring in, first raise to $15, so the SPR will be a bit smaller if you're playing $200 deep.

Bellagio has a PLO game that went a couple times when I was there as well. 1/3, $1000 cap, $5 bring in. Obviously played a lot bigger than the Aria game. I don't think this game gets started very often, I just happened to be in the room when it did.

I didn't play Flamingo or Venetian, but did see lists for PLO at the Venetian at times.
