I had a friend ask me how to link/upload photos to posts the other day and thought that this info might be useful to others as well, especially with all the new posters and TRs that have been coming out of the woodwork of late. Additionally, I have a selfish motivation as hopefully this may convert would be photobucket (which absolutely sucks for viewing on iPhone) users to use imgur instead.

Disclaimer: I have the iPhone 5s so this tutorial may be specific to my phone. However, I expect the general process to be similar across platforms.

First, go find this app (Imgupr photo uploader) and download it:



After installing, open it up and it will look like this:



If you already have a photo taken in your library, select choose photo. You don't need an account or to be logged in for this to work. Once selected from your library, you will have the option to upload the photo so go ahead and click the upload button.



After you click it, the upload will begin.



Once it's finished, you come to this page where you should click "get embed codes" second from the bottom.



On the next page, select BBCode



Now your photo link has been copied to your clipboard and is ready to be pasted into any post without further formatting.

Wish these apps had a "shrink this 3000x4000 image down to a reasonable size so it doesn't mess up forum threads" option.

i use chrome and as the page loads chrome automatically brings them back down to normal size and you can click the pic for the XL version.

DSB thanks for doing this, makes a TR much easier to read on the App when it will show the pic instantly and not load in safari in horrible quality

Thank you very much for this. I have an iPhone 5s and was going to use Photobucket for my trip report next month, but you have now converted me over to Imgupr. Speaking of which, I am not going to be able to make it out to Vegas next month since I have yet to receive my FTP funds. Therefore, I am going to make a Horseshoe Tunica trip report in the brick and mortar forum.

I was wondering, would any of you guys be interested in reading a trip report over in B&M? It would be cool if I had a few LVL regs giving me some feedback, pointers, opinions, etc... Anyway, I didn't mean to derail this thread, but I did want to get the word out that I will be making a TR next month. Thanks for the tutorial, DSB!

The mod over there makes threads a lot less fun. Posts that are even a little off-topic will be deleted. If it's Vegas TR I don't know why you would want to post it over there.

I don't know of anything like this for video but that certainly doesn't mean that it doesn't exist. Sorry I can't be of more help.
