I recommend the Irish pub across the street. Also the Ethiopian restaurant just a bit further.

this. Why would anyone go to Jack in the Box with so many food options in Las Vegas? Unless they are strung out on meth and can't get a ride or walk. For about the same price I had the best ham steak (big as a plate) and egg breakfast ever at the Orleans.

Everyone reading this site has an open invitation to nut-kick me if they catch me in a Vegas JITB. After said kick, I will give out a $100 bounty.

I've always felt Irish bars were upscale.

Those Orleans bastards.

But seriously... hopefully the Orleans never changes anything again except the bed sheets.

Because it's starting to become a verified old school casino.

But I have always been a big fan of the Bill's Gamblin Hall... Barbary Coast etc.
and not the POS Cromwell in which they evolved. Some of the Cromwell's rooms have brick wall views, without the iron cast fire escape routes (because I love San Fran hotels) , and are laughable.

I seriously think all the whiners around here about the Orleans poker room are mistaken about low limit game quality and the overall quality of the room. Memorable and very worthy. The old world staff and charm of the entire casino bring it and unfortunately these types of casinos are becoming a thing of the past. I just hope Boyd Gaming is profitable without the need for change. Because all the big companies are extremely broke and doing all they can to **** up the strip.

Boyd Gaming has a reputation as a well run company that has clout with regulators in the gaming industry. Their partnership with MGM is questionable given that company's financial down slide but Boyd seems to know what they are doing. Revenues are up and the bills are getting paid.

The Orleans, Gold Coast, Sam's Town, Main Street Station, California, etc. always seem to have an above average room/food/beverage options with good pay outs at slots and table games.

I wish Orleans ran 2-5 NL games and I wish their NL games were 9 handed instead of 10.

They would if they had the interest. I dealt a few there over the summer when they got the interest. But they just don't seem to attract the 2-5 players...

But yeah occasionally they can get one going. GL!!!

If you're bored of playing NLH, the majority of their tournaments are either Omaha8, Stud8, or a combination of mixed games. They do have that bigger NLH tourney on Friday night, and from what I understand, it's a pretty great tourney.

The dealers are amazing, and the floor is super friendly. I wouldn't go there for an amazing food experience, but they do have a decent amount of serviceable food.

My only complaint (which didn't really matter for me anyways) was that my room didn't have a refrigerator. Not sure if it was just the room I was staying in, but I thought that was a little odd.
+1

People looking to play 2/5 are the Wynn/Aria crowd. They don't go to Orleans. Orleans is a limit HE O8 room mostly. People there don't have the bankroll to play higher limit NL.

As for 9 handed tables they are so busy and don't have the tables.

Does the Orleans allow smoking in the poker room? Or is there smoking allowed right outside it so the poker room is smoky anyway? I've heard aconflicting reports from the local wags.

If you are at a table near the edge of the poker room it could be an issue but I've never had a problem and I think they are good about asking people who are smoking near the poker room to move.

The serious NL players don't like the 10 handed tables. I don't see how anyone there likes them. You have no room at the table.

There are a bunch of signs in the video poker area near the poker room saying it's a non-smoking area. But many smokers tend to be inconsiderate jerks, and smoke there anyway.

Decent Sports Book too.

I'm loving this tread. It's about time this classic casino and poker room got some airplay for better or for worse.

I’m with that. I’m a big fan. I actually love all the Boyd casinos.

Wife and I fly out a month from today and got our rooms for the weekend comped. Looking forward to the low roller weekend and hopefully hitting up some relatively warmer weather than what we are experiencing in Idaho right now. We love this casino.
