Awesome, Lake Tahoe or Atlantis are the places suggested so far that are most appealing as they seem like places I would like to visit regardless of gambling and aren’t massive cities like LA/MIA.

Tahoe has great poker action during the Circuit event, but the lake is too cold at that time. Too much snow.

I live on east coast and just connected 2+2 that this is the skiing destination Lake Tahoe. Skiing and then gambling in evening, sounds amazing

They have the poker stars event there every year, so they just have poker for those couple weeks and not the rest of the year? I could have sworn they had it year around. Also if not there’s lots of other casinos in the island

Exactly.

Can you name one casino that has a poker room? Baha Mar says they offer poker and maybe they have a tournament sometime during the year but there’s also no regular year round poker room.

One of the issues with gambling in the Bahamas is that it’s tourist only. Citizens and other residents aren’t allowed to play in casinos. Kinda similar to Dubai where tourists are allowed to consume alcohol in hotels.

There are some poker options in the Caribbean like Aruba and the Dominican Republic but Bahamas isn’t one of them.

You’ll dig it then. South Lake Tahoe has 4 1/2 casinos right next to each other, and Heavenly is the closest slopes, basically right above the casinos. Harrah’s, Harvey’s (both CET properties), Hard Rock and Montbleu (formerly Caesars). Montbleu is a total dump, Harvey’s is kinda low-roller, other two are nice.

But the only poker you’ll get is a 1/2NL game at Harvey’s.

The casinos are just down the road from the gondola at Heavenly. The Circuit event usually starts around the last week of October, so I would guess that some years the mountain won't be open yet. I have been snowed in before, so they get plenty of snow some years by Nov 1.

No beach there. But wait! Laughlin has a beach, lol.

Best time to go is during spring break, according to all those videos.

I’m not lying, I’ve actually been wanting to check out Laughlin and part of the reason is that there’s a body of water to do things on. A few years ago we rented a boat on Lake Mead to use for the day to waterski and tube and stuff but then it rained so I can’t vouch for that plan

So is best option to fly into Reno and then get some sort of shuttle to South Lake Tahoe?

If you don’t mind driving 60-80 minutes to Gulf Shores, AL then Biloxi is an option for beaches. Terrific white sand beaches on the Gulf of Mexico with lots of great local seafood restaurants.

A shuttle or a rental car. It's a one hour drive from Reno to the South Lake Tahoe (Stateline, NV) casinos.

harrah's and avi resort do have man-made beaches...the last I saw. yes jet-skiing and tubing are popular to do on the river there as well. unfortunately, no poker that I am aware of other than at the casino that looks like a riverboat (forgot the name).

There's some poker somewhere because Trooper made a video about it. Might not be very good but it's poker of some kind.

"Riverboat" in Laughlin? Probably Colorado Belle. There is a CET property (Harrah's? I can't remember) that had an OMC infested game (one table during the day) and low buy-in donkaments as well.

Bravo shows that Harrah's Laughlin has a 3-6 LHE game going right now.

I've never been to Tunica and I would go ahead and rate it over Atlantic City sight unseen.

AC is a dump these days.

I think there’s a misconception about Tunica. Apparently, back in the early 90s when gambling was legalized there, it was the 3rd largest gambling market in the US for a while. Behind Las Vegas and Atlantic City.

Today, 5 or 6 of the 8 casinos they have are total dumps and legalized gambling and lots of other markets means Tunica is barely in the top 20 based on revenue. Atlantic City is still #2. To put numbers into perspective, I am pretty sure the new MGM National Harbor close to Washington DC generates more revenue than all of Tunicas casinos combined.

Tunica has two poker rooms, Hollywood and Horseshoe. Weekends are busier and there’s plenty action during tournament series, but on a regular weekday evening, I would put the over/under on the number of total tables between the two places at 5.

Rent a car in Reno (bonus: it’s one of those airports where you can walk to the rental cars). It’s about an hour drive- if you’re going to South Lake you’ll go south out of Reno, through Carson City and over the mountains.

Personally I like to stay in Reno for a night, I’ve got a soft spot for that town.
