This is the new show from Spiegelworld, they guys who produced Absinthe. It's at the Cosmo, and in the same area as Rose Rabbit. Lie, so you can have a cool dinner with a caberate-type show and then move right next door to the Opium theater.

My GF took me for my birthday, and holy cow - if you liked Absinthe, you're gonna love Opium! It's absolutely bonkers. Funny, goofy, awe-inspiring, dirty, you name it.

Like Absinthe, it's a bunch of human circus acts in the round, interspersed with funny, crazy antics. But unlike with Absinthe, Opium has a through line, a story. It's about a crew on a space ship...and that's about it! But man, is it great.

As some guy on Facebook said, it’s like “Rocky Horror Picture Show met Buck Rogers and exploded in Captain Kirk’s pants!”




Go see it as soon as you can. It's now my favorite show in Vegas.

I’m checking it out tomorrow. Been meaning to for a while because Absinthe is my favorite show in town.

I saw it opening night. Entertaining but definitely not as good as absinthe. Pretty sure they’ve changed it up since opening night though. They were having people fill out surveys about what they liked and what they didn’t. A lot of the early yelp reviews were pretty mixed so I think they did change some of the acts.

I haven't seen it yet but have seen Absinthe and saw Rose Rabbit Lie both quite a few times, so I plan on seeing Opium.

I have seen a single show since moving here full time in 2010... I think I am missing some good stuff.

Most of the shows are overrated, but Absinthe is great and if Opium is anything like it I would recommend it too. It will be on my must see list next time I'm back. The Cirque shows are hit or miss depending on your preferences.
