This discussion reminds me of a time I hit a jackpot in French Lick IN just hanging out with friends. 2am or so. It literally took them 30 min to unlock my machine. So long for an attendant to come over, so long to process my paperwork. It's very frustrating. Any smaller casino/place that doesn't get much action you can expect to wait a long-ass time. It's really maddening when you're stuck 10k in 10 min, hit 2k and wait triple that to get paid- F, I'm still down 8k! Hurry up!

So happy for you....and for our own greedy entertainment. We need your bankroll replenishment as much as you for the future of this thread

Can't remember the source, so may be wrong. Heard somewhere or another that the IRS is considering raising the $1200 number, as $1200 ain't what it used to be.

so good to have some run good Leon...really hoping you can sustain it.

weird (IME) that you had the 4am wake up. I mean...I'm fully aware of the early Vegas wake ups, but I always sleep way better after a day on the gambol when I've run good than when I've run bad. I was guessing a massive day might have helped you sleep longer

there's a much longer story i won't type now, but last trip with a group of friends we had a hired car just pulling up outside the four queens right as one hits a jackpot requiring a slot to be unlocked. attendant shows up, friend won't give ssn to just anybody, and they end up deep in the casino bowels filling out physical paperwork. took over 40 minutes

Man all that winning sure is tiring!
I really hope there is no plot twist. Just consistent plot until the end please

That monster UX hit is such a perfect encapsulation of the dichotomy of emotions with UX. So happy for the hit, so pissed for the lack of multipliers. And yet, we can't stop playing it!
Loving the success so far. Go go go!

Another epic TR from the man, the myth, the legend...

Only thing this TR is missing is us getting to see that falcon in action lol

You can't get paid until the machine unlocks. You can get paid any way you want- cash, check etc. The good part is most places (including the Wynn now) have self-pay- you set up your account, then when you hit a jackpot, you enter your own pin and 2 sec later you're ready to go and the money is on the machine. Each place has their own limits on what a player can and can't unlock, and it sometimes differs by machine too. For instance, at my local I can only unlock <9999$ jackpots myself. At the Wynn on the floor I've unlocked as big as 30k myself. I'm told on some of the hi limit machines people can unlock up to 99,999$ themselves. Anything over 100k requires engineer verification. It's all over the place.

Edit to add: it's a tax thing. The win gets recorded and sent to the IRS. You have to sign the tax form. The employee unlocking the machine is verification the tax documentation is in place. So automating the process makes sense, it's literally just a number recorded on a form somewhere. There's no reason that can't be done automatically, it just requires a player account to be set up.
Is that a fairly recent innovation? The last time I got a handpay I didn't see any kind of option to do that. Of course, it was some time ago (there was a "teen" in the year).

There's been talk for years about this. Unlikely to happen for awhile.

Me being down $16k ish on VP in 10 months is pretty sickening at $0.05 - 0.25. Zippy royals, zippy a 4 of a kind with a kicker. But this thread continues to give me hope.

Maybe I'll end a session with a push one day. I'll keep shipping it in respect to our hero. Someone has to take these bastards.

Paying your vp dues between hot runs can be excruciating and seem to last forever.

It's great to see leon take a peek out of his recent vp crater!
Cash for leon; entertainment for us.
Win/win!

Legislation was introduced back in March 2023. If signed by Biden, the ‘SLOT Act’ would increase the jackpot IRS threshold to $5K. The current threshold of $1,200 hasn't been changed since 1977.

Could have use that this week.
Sorry for the mini-derail, but Leon inspired this degeneracy so I feel compelled to come in and pay respects with an image.

Thanks Leon. I salute you, sir.

No I've always been the opposite. Being up is such a rush that it makes it harder to sleep. Dead and buried, I can sleep ok.

I can totally picture this. Esp when you're at a place that doesn't handle jackpots often. It's brutal.

Yes pretty recent. It's only been the last year at the Wynn and Barona. Maybe a year earlier at other places I've heard of.

Rest of Day 2

After lunch, I head over to hi limit. Let's keep this craziness going!

Despite these hits, I end up losing quite a bit at hi limit, and even more at ice cold UX. I gave back about 10k in this stretch.

I'm getting kind of tired of VP, but don't feel like physically standing and throwing dice. I decide to chill and hit the bubble craps machine- I can bet big enough that it'll be fun, but I can also take my sweet time, not have to deal with other humans etc. Should be fun! I feed in 500$ to start. Based off my experience before (when I got 6 up to 600 and had to take several hand pays), I know the max I can bet per number is whatever the win will be + bet size = less than 1200$. If I get to that point it'll be big enough and I'll be having fun for sure.

I start with 50$ on all the even numbers (so 220$). I start off hot, then move to 3 units on all the evens (330$). It stays hot, and soon I move to 4, then 5 and at my height 6 units (660$). This is legit big. I snapped some pics along the way.

Ended up turning 500$ into almost a 16x win LOL. Unbelievable how well I'm running this trip. I briefly consider how big this would have been if I were doing my usual at a real craps table, then decide to just enjoy it. I text my buddies T and D and let them know, they are incredulous at how ridiculous my trip has been so far. That basically erased the 10k I gave back at VP. I head back to hi limit.

This ends up being a break even session. Still up 15k for the day. We head to NYNY for Mad Apple, then dinner at L'atelier Joel Robuchon.

The show was great just like last time. Both mom and N really enjoyed it. I can't be certain, but I feel like they added stuff from the last time I saw it (less than a yr ago), so that was fun for me too.

Walking from NYNY to MGM.

L'atelier Joel Robuchon

I love this place, almost as good as the full restaurant, twice as fast and about twice as affordable.

We elect to skip the tasting- mom and I aren't that hungry and it would tie us down for about 2.5 hrs. This is going to be hard to stay in ketosis but I'm committed- I just need to minimize the bread and carbs.

Really milking this mini-baguette here.

This onion "pancake" was legit one of the best things I've eaten in years. 10/10, texture, flavor, presentation, everything.

The strawberry concoction here also 10/10. SO GOOD

A superb meal as always. I had one mini-baguette, a couple bites of potatoes and some of every dessert. I assumed I would be out of ketosis after this meal, but shockingly was not (and didn't put myself out over the entire weekend). This was great data to gather, for the future trips I can totally enjoy myself and as long as I stay in control I won't completely undo all the work I put in in between.

After we get back to the Wynn, it's more VP for me. I give money back at hi limit, then move to UX.

This was the only hit of note at UX.

I'm well off my hi point of +17k for the day. I move to cruise at an old school machine, but it's icy as well. Not done, I see the 2$ spin poker machine calling my name again... it did bring me all the way back pre-breakfast. Let's try it again.

Not enough, slide that 2 up one spot will ya?!

Spoiler:

HOLY F!!!!! AGAIN! AND AGAIN WITH THE THREES FOR THE SAVE! Basically the same hand as before, also my first draw of note!

And with that... I'm above my high point for the day again. I decide to play a bit more, give back enough to get back down to the old hi point, and call it a day. Seriously- I feel like a pawn in some grand scheme that has been pre-determined already, and I'm just lucky that this chapter they decided I get to win. How else can I explain moving to this spin poker machine twice in a day, and each time it gets me back to my hi point, with the same draw both times?! Just crazy.

Day 2 result- +17k
Overall- +77k
Dealt quads- 6

Day 3 coming soon...

I like leon's TRs either way, but this is a very fun one so far!

I'm also jealous of the L'Atelier pics. I'm a few weeks away myself and it can't come soon enough.
