Haha man wait till you get AAA3K at 10 play and you hold AAA3 and you hear the magical ****ing sound and get like an 8x

Day 2

After going to bed after midnight, I wake up 4 times to take a piss! That's gotta be a record for me in Vegas. So annoying. So after the 4th time, I figure, "it's gotta be at least 5am. That's enough sleep". I check the clock and it's 4am!?!! WTF. But now I'm up... so I stumble downstairs. MUST find a nap here sometime today or I'm not going to make it.

Head downstairs and immediately starting getting pummeled on UX and spin. Move to hi limit and finally break the seal for the day.

That doesn't last long at all, and soon enough I'm out on the floor again. At some point I think I'm down over 10k and decide to use up free credit.

Start.

End. Decent payback.

I keep going, and soon I'm down 12k. I'm playing spin and can feel tilt kicking in. I decide to go "just one more thousand" before breakfast. I know even this is a mistake, gotta cut off medium losses before they become big ones. The machine immediately justifies future irresponsible behavior on my part with this beauty-

Spoiler:

Ahh, center line magic on spin. Only held a pair, but bc it came down just perfect on that center line, I made it three ways!

Rejuvenated, I now go on a tear-

At some point, I drive the credits over 50k in the machine which is over the limit. They have to pay the 4awak with a separate ticket. I cash out the 47k ticket which is too unwieldy in any case. Put the 4k in the machine, lose it super fast, then another 2k from the 47k until I stop for breakfast. Darn, a little too much given back but that was definitely the bomb- from -13k downswong to +17k for the AM! I'm up almost 40 grand for the trip!

D and I head to Jardin. Wife has to work soon and usually skips breakfast anyways so it's just the two of us.

After breakfast, we have a little time to kill before our limo to the Cosmo/grind D some points. We swing by hi limit and break even.

On the way to the Cosmo, I tell D I don't know how long I'm good for. Wife is planning on hitting the spa in the afternoon which will keep her out until just about our early dinner at 5:30p. I know I'll need to take a nap, and we've got dinner/Steve Martin later. We decide to just play it by ear, but we'll likely be here only a few hrs.

Hi limit lounge at Cosmo.

We feed in 5k and D has 10%. The machine is pretty good right away, and soon enough we find out first dealt quads of the trip!

Spoiler:

PREMIUM!

Kicker draw result-

Spoiler:

Man. Well below avg (effectively 1600$ worth). Oh well. At least D got to see his first "tons of lines kicker draw hand".

We play for hrs and hit tons of jackpots. I actually forgot to take pics of all of them, whether bc I was too tired or mentally forgot that the 1-2k jackpots which are routine playing so many lines and which I never take pics of at the local count for the TR. Oh well, suffice to say we didn't hit anything else huge. At our height we were up about 20k, and we end up a 10k winner at the Cosmo! I'm up almost 45k for the trip! I call us the limo back to Wynn.

Once back at the Wynn, I head straight upstairs for a nap. I sleep for at least 2 hrs and when I wake up D is playing craps downstairs. I join him, and it sucks. I think I lost 4k really fast. Head over to UX and hit only one jackpot of note-

I think between craps and UX, I gave back basically all of the Cosmo win. Still a good day, up 35k at this point. We head upstairs to change, then Delilah.

Everything was pretty solid. Couple of notes- the chicken tenders we got "just bc"- I mean, if they're offering chicken tenders at the Wynn, they've gotta be special right? Nope, basically just... chicken tenders. Avocado on the broccolini I don't get. It was fine, but the whole was literally no better than the sum of its parts. The rice with that short rib was the bomb. 8/10 overall.

After dinner, we rush over to the Encore Theater bc the show starts at 7. We get there and the velvet ropes are still up. That's weird. They let us in at 7 and I think, "maybe I read that wrong, but I swear showtime started at 7. Maybe they'll get started right away". We are the first in the theater and it's basically empty. We're waiting... waiting... people are trickling in. Wife says "I feel bad for Steve Martin etc, they're basically playing to an empty theater". That makes me think- I double check and... yep, STARTS AT 8PM?! Argh. So we've got tons of time to kill. No idea how I got that wrong. Anyways, they ended up not starting until 8:15pm and the house was full at that time.

Unfortunately I couldn't grab pics during the show bc they were very specific and strict about no cell phones. The show was good and I'm glad I went. I've never been a huge fan of either Steve Martin or Martin Short but it was cool to see two old dudes still doing their thing. Comedy was 5/10, experience 8/10. Best part by far was the bluegrass band that Steve Martin has a relationship with- Steep Canyon Rangers. They played a few tunes and even if you're not a bluegrass fan (I'm not), it's impossible to not appreciate the musicianship. These guys have won Grammys for a reason. 10/10 there.

After the show, we play VP and lose- down to about 30k up for the trip. Head to Encore for craps- we play for quite a while, it's never a winner but never awful. At some point wife heads up to bed and immediately things improve LOL. I end up almost 4k winner! Decide to head to bed- it's after midnight. However, on the way I stop at spin poker and just can't help myself.

Well. That was awesome. So many quad aces- but no kicker. The machine just wouldn't let me leave though. Only downside is it's now after 1am. That wasn't a huge session but it was still hot, no doubt. I pop a melatonin when I get up to the room, hopefully I'll sleep more tonight. Another great day.

Day 2- +21k
Overall- +42k

Day 3 coming soon...

When I got to the first spoiler, (even before opening), for some reason I had the mental image of the gate at the track. Drop the flag, "and they're off!"

Glad to see that's what happened.

not sure what was ordered at Delilah
even though you posted pics

many places with boxes found around menu items are drawing attention to profit leaders
consider it a weekly harvesting of the lazy order

that's right some say don't judge a book by the cover

I was gonna say the key to you winning big might be no slot tourney, but you've won when you've done those before. Still, once you said that wasn't on the agenda I thought to myself even before reading another word that means a win for you.

Really? I didn't know what DSTP does to the ev, but I LUVVVV the jackpot possibilities. I once pulled a 4x "pre" and a 10x after the deal. Plus a 4 to a royal. That one got my heart going.

Day 3

I sleep in until about 7am which is pretty decent for me! Head downstairs, thinking, "breakfast is in an hr and a half. Hopefully this'll be a good session, but even if it's not it's not that long. How much can I really lose?".

Cue doomswitch. The below is the only jackpot I hit. I lost 13k this AM and there was zero recovery, unlike the day before.

Meet up with D and wife at Tableau.

Wife got the salad with braised rabbit and eggs- it was pretty good. Think I'll have to get that next time.

After breakfast, we decide to play VP and try and earn D some tier credits at the Wynn. Bottom line, we can do it, but we're going to have to put in a bunch of the action I would normally put on my card on his over the remaining 2 days. Normally this wouldn't be an issue, but given I was up 42k and have given back almost 1/3 in an hr part of me wants to coast. I'm vaguely worried. We start at UX.

DA FUQ. After all the draws I've missed in my life, I can make 3 to a straight come in 5/5 TIMES??!

We move to hi limit.

As can be seen, we mostly traded punches, but it got pretty good at the end! We both stepped up in lines, hit some good hands at the end and got D some credits! I think we claw back 6k this session.

It's time to hit our Masterclass! Some Xmas treat decoration thing- normally I can get 4 of these per year for two people. This is the first time I've ever done a masterclass at the Wynn, so they let D come along as well as wife.

Chocolate bomb being converted to hot chocolate.

I elect to not follow the specific instructions and make up some designs on the fly.

All 4 of "my" cookies. Only one I'm really upset about is the Elton John gingerbread man- I had no idea where I was going with this and you can really tell. Sue me.

To no one's surprise, wife's cookies came out the best. We all had fun and lunch was basically pure sugar. The cookies themselves were near inedible- the base cookie had to be cooked super hard (presumably to make it easier to decorate), and it made for a 1-2/10 cookie at best. Far more of a decoration than a cookie.

Gift bag with yet more sugar for later.

After the Masterclass, we hit craps and it's cold. I know I lost 4k here, so I'm down 11k for the day. Wife heads upstairs to get ready for the show/dinner at Cosmo, D and I try VP again.

It's obv a good session. We're giving back money fast, of course. Then, second dealt quads of the trip!

Spoiler:

Meh.

We end on that note to get ready. I think we clawed back another 6k, so I'm only down 5k for the day now!

Heading to the Cosmo for the second time in as many days.

We're seeing OPM. I'd never heard of it, but apparently it was leaving for good at the end of Dec. D has seen it before and recommended it. What I'm hearing is "adult Cirque du Soleil/something like Absinthe". I don't even really care, as long as it's a new show. D has managed to score 3 tickets and dinner afterwards courtesy of his host at Cosmo.

We're right in the first row. D tells me I have a 99% chance of being messed with.

The MC, supposed to be a robot/AI with sexual tendencies. She did in fact mess with me, a lot. She asked my name early on which is never a good sign, and probably came up to me in at least 3 acts afterwards. At some point, she sat in my lap and proposed I run off with her instead of wife, and then she proposed wife come with us as well. 4/10 on embarrassment scale.

Following images NSFW (mods feel free to delete if needed)-

Spoiler:

Overall, the show was a lot of fun, and yes, it was basically Cirque du Soleil with near-naked performers and a lot of sexual jokes. I would definitely bring people back/see it again if it was available!

Next- dinner at the Italian place associated with the show... Day 3 result so far- -5k.

If they ever offer a chocolate work master class, take it. Fascinating what is done with chocolate. Sugar work is kinda meh.
If you or wife is further interested, look up Amaury Guichon, apparently he works our of Las Vegas now. Very present on social media.

Hmm, the show looks great - seems Absinthe-y?

I’m still sad they took RRR out of the Cosmo. I had one of my favourite nights ever there with wifey a few years back

They are both Spiegelworld, so your connection to absinthe me makes sense.

Superfrico is ok, but I also miss RRL.

No derail here as far as I can see.

LOL yes I'm aware. I put those "eyes" in first. Then chose to pivot to some weird costume, which then itself sort of reminded me of Elton John. As I said, there was zero plan behind that one and it definitely shows.

Judging from the pics were you really at OPM on the 16th? If so I'm guessing the early show as it looks different from the late (which we were at).

Also, I love the master class pics.

IIRC all the Spiegelworld shows rotate acts for each individual show, so the overall theme will be the same but with some different bits

If true, I never knew that. It also seems impractical as it's simply not a big venue. I'm assuming some of the performers from the early show do stints at superfrico after the early show? I know that Absinthe and OPM share some acts, but didn't realize it could be the same night.

Rest of Day 3, Day 4

Where we left off, the early show of OPM had just finished and we're headed to dinner at SuperFrico. Sorry for the delay in this last installment, I figured let's enjoy the New Year's Holiday and save this for later. I can confirm that some performers from the early show were performing in the restaurant during the dinner, so they must change acts or at a minimum some of the performers between the early and late shows.

We decide to get the tasting menu. It's a little pricey, but has most of what we were going to order anyways. Plus D is assuming his comp will cover this meal.

Overall, a disappointing meal. Most of the dishes were meh and/or too sweet. There was zero variation in the tomato sauce between dishes, meaning any dish with tomato sauce had exactly the same flavor. It's like it all came from the same vat. Given the venue, I wasn't expecting much but I WAS expecting more than we got. 4/10 at best. Dessert was the best, that was a solid 7/10 (cherry cheesecake mousse). I'd come back for the show, but not the food, and it sounds like the show has gone away now...

Picked this up at SuperFrico. They offered barrel strength buffalo trace which I'd never heard of. Turns out, it was a special partnering between the BT distillery and Spiegelworld. I got a pour which was meh- it's a little young. However, they offered the bottles for 250$ which is "normal" for high end barrel proof bourbons I'm used to getting (eg, Stagg, Bookers). I'm sure there's a Vegas markup here as well, but hey, I just hit 200k! I decide to live a little and purchase the bottle for collector's purposes. It's not worth drinking at that price. Who knows, maybe one day it gains value??

After dinner, we head back to the Wynn.

Cosmo's many Cadillacs.

We head to hi limit to grind out the remainder of D's points. He's got a long way to go- by my math, hrs today AND tomorrow.

Initially, we're doing ok bc of those hits. Giving money back as fast as we get it, but at least we're alive. Wife goes to bed at some point, but shockingly the run good switch doesn't materialize. We start losing fast, then faster. I had told myself "don't give back more than 10k" for this session, but once we blow past it we just keep going. I reason that we're going to play on his card tomorrow anyways, what difference does it make it we lose today or tomorrow? What's clear is we're committed to his points, we're pretty close and the year (and chance to get him top tier status) is drawing to a close. So we keep going... and keep losing. At some point I get up from the multiline machine in disgust, head to spin and UX, give back a few more thousand before I finally throw in the towel.

Stuck 17k for that session. Ouch. Head upstairs, shockingly wife is still awake! She gives me 1/2 a gummy and I collapse in bed, exhausted and pissed off at myself.

Day 3 result- -22k
Overall- +20k

Day 4

When I went to bed, I was dreading the last AM session. My thinking is-
- definitely going to wake up early, definitely going to play (on my card, not D's)
- definitely going to grind points for D to get him to black status
- IF I get pummeled in the early AM session, and the session with D sucks, I could somehow turn a trip when I was up 40k+ into a loser!!!!

When I wake up, it's bright out. I figure, it's probably 7am or so. That's good! Stumble to bathroom, check time... 9am?!!

This is f'ing amazing. I slept right through the AM session! I'm definitely doing the gummy thing when I'm in Vegas again. I don't believe I've EVER slept past 8am in Vegas.

D texted me an hr ago. I tell him I'm up, we plan to grab an early lunch at Red8 and skip breakfast. I tell D to meet me in hi limit- let's get this point grinding thing done!

We're running behind expectation for dealt quads this trip. Which of course means, here comes dealt quads number 2! Multiline is a great place to get them!

Spoiler:

Meh.

We're grinding, grinding, grinding... eventually we get D to black, and what cost us 17k last night only cost 2k today! Definitely take that.

We meet up with wife for lunch and I quickly pack before heading down for the last session. It's multiline time, more lines, let's see if I can smash a home run before we leave! I'm up 18k for the trip and tell myself hard stop, leave with at least 10k profit.

As can be seen, I went pretty big at the end. Playing super fast as the clock was ticking down... nope. No home runs this trip. I cash out 11k up total.

In for 60, out for 71.

A far comedown from my height this trip, but a win is a win, and I have to remember that winning at all is a good result. I've run really well at the Wynn in 2023, definitely in the black for the year. A few big losses but several big wins as well and the majority of my trips were winners.

Day 4 result- - 9k
Overall- +11k

Postscript-
not much to say about this trip, overall did well doing non-gambling things, had a lot of fun, and aside from Sat had no major implosions. Between the Wynn and my 200k hit at Barona I am going to owe some serious tax next year.

ALSO- got a text during the trip- my Rolex finally arrived! So I picked that up the week after I got back.

Thanks for reading!
