I believe you, but that's kind of ridiculous to me. It's not like casinos haven't been surveilled for the longest time. I have a hard time picturing any person coming in, plunking themselves down at a machine and just because the screen looks like there's a winner on there them making a case for getting paid. There's literally zero further evidence they've played and there IS evidence that they haven't.

I have a hard enough time convincing wife to go to Vegas. I'd guess there's basically zero chance she'd want to go to the local.

Looks very pretty
That was mine.

$64k.

Best hit for me ever, by a wide margin.

I see some believe I was "down to my final 2 spins", as it's $100/spin and I had $200-something left in the machine. Not quite, but I also was having quite a bad night until about 15 minutes before that.

I only had $9500 with me and I wasn't going to spend all of it. I was going to quit if down $9200. I was down $8300, and held a pair of aces. One of the lines ended up with AAAA, and had a 3x multiplier, so I got $2400, and about $200 from the other 9 hands, for $2600 total. It was a handpay, and I took it in cash.

That gave me some breathing room, but I proceeded to run about 6 or so hands, all losers. I didn't lose $100 each (since I was playing 10 hands at once), but each of them lost most of the 100.

Before I could get too frustrated, the next hand just started counting up credits before I could hold anything. I was confused at first, then saw what happened. I was shocked and jumped out of my seat and started talking to myself.

Crappy night turned out to be a great night. And I was only there because I had free tickets to F1 and decided to take my son to it.

Thanks for sharing, and nice hit!

If you could legit go through 9200 and hit "cash out" on a machine with $300 left in it which is 3 spins, that is some HERCULEAN power of will that I could never muster. My stop-loss floors hit at about a 6% rate, and def are never "3 more spins, who cares anyway" territory.

totally agree...unless there was some hard and fast reason why the $300 cash was essential and irreplacable...kids, coke dealer etc

This is literally the best feeling in VP. I've been dealt an autohold hand maybe 10 times in my life? It never gets old. I've had one or 2 where I wasn't even looking at the screen and just heard the jackpot noise (wha? Oh I see!), and two on those all star II machines where turbo is "true turbo" (the cards just appear lightning fast). Those were fun- dealholddrawdealholddrawdealholddrawdealBAAAMMMJAC KPOTNOISEWTF??!!

The hundred line machines are something else, though. It takes a good second or two for the entire screen to fill, during which time one can realize, "OMG I F'ing did it!".

leon, have you taken a look at Fountainbleue? Upscale place, looks like they're trying to outWynn the Wynn. Maybe you could cut a deal in there while they're looking for new mini-whales. Or wait a couple weeks after they've stolen a few of Wynn's, and renegotiate your Wynn deal.

There seems to be a limited market for these monstrously huge super high-end hotels. I think in a couple years, one or more go bust. I don't get what FB is trying to do way down at their end of the Strip. Steal customers from Resorts World? They probably don't even have a solid customer base yet.

I guess you get a lot of comps if you go around throwing $9500 into vp machines.

What casino was the big win at?

Just got back from a trip, will post TR soon. Went with a buddy who walked to FB late Sat night, he said it was really nice. I meant to go check it out but couldn't find a good time.

For me, it just doesn't get any better than the Wynn. We spent a fair amount of time at Cosmo this trip and it just cemented for me that that's not my crowd. It's just a little too noisy, a little too dark, and the douchebags (which Wynn also has obv) are just a little too obnoxious. FB would have to be just as nice, same/better VP, and they'd have to offer me better comps. I think the chance of that happening are pretty much nil.

I watched the YouTube video on where they checked out the Fontainebleau. It has very little VP so probably not a good choice for Leon.

Best they have is 8-5 bonus poker at the $5/credit level. Very unexciting.

Read on another site that FB was taken for $4.5 million by a Wynn regular whale. Playing $5000 a spot craps and roulette.

I think it’s even worse than that. I’m not expecting full pay VP on a strip property but FB has very little VP period. I doubt they have Leon’s go to game.

Dec TR

I booked this trip about 3 months ago. After I got back from my Oct trip and knew I needed surgery this one became up in the air. I definitely wasn't going to be able to enjoy myself if I still felt like I did in Oct. And, I wanted to get my surgery in early enough to allow enough time to recover for the trip. If I had to cancel bc of the surgery I of course would have- health has to take the priority. Thankfully, everything worked out!

I'm going with wife and buddy D who recently was laid off. I opened the door for him to cancel once I heard he was laid off but he didn't even let me finish my sentence and said, "no, screw that, I'm going to Vegas for sure". Wife elected to join relatively late in the game, I found out after she was doing it purely for me bc she thought she was saving me a solo trip (she had no idea D was going).

Agenda- relatively packed this time.

Thurs- get in, dinner at Mizumi
Fri- D and I play at cosmo to try and get his status bumped up, dinner at Delilah, Steve Martin/Martin Short at the Wynn after
Sat- Xmas cookie masterclass at Wynn, OPM at Cosmo, dinner at the "psychedelic Italian" place associated with OPM after
Sun- head home

Bankroll- 60k

Other stuff- I want to play bigger (hence slightly larger bankroll), but also know that if I lose control I'll busto my recent massive hit back down to nothing and have no desire to do that. D is also planning on partnering with me at the Wynn. He'd like to try and make Black card status at the Wynn and is lacking 36k tier credits. Zero chance he makes it on his own, but with him carded in and my play... I think we can do it.

Day 1

Before we leave, I get word from a friend that sends me a pic of the SD airport- disaster of a line, place looks super crowded/like a bomb went off. We pivot and go just carry on to avoid the check in situation. Looks like I won't be bringing home a bunch of stuff with me this time... get to the airport and it's a breeze. Oh well.

Never gets old.

Once in the room, I immediately grab some bourbon and get to work. Wife and D want to grab lunch at Red8.

Wife making a mockery of this TR...

We're on the board!

At some point, wife and D finished lunch and we all play together. D is in for 10%. We card him in and start to hemorrhage- I know we finished that session up, but minimally. Wife is getting bored and decides to head to the room, D and I hit craps.

The session immediately starts crappy (as always), but luckily turns good early. I'm trying a slightly bigger betting scheme, 6 and 8 450$ each, first hit go to 600$ then take/press/take/press every hit. So I'm in for 5k to start, down a few k in the first few rolls but then we catch a couple good rolls. At my height I got 6 up to 2400$ and was able to win that bet- never got anything beyond that. Anyways, in for 5k out for-

D and I head to the old school machine. We are severely under-aced this trip, esp three aces (I think I put in 1000 hands at this point and still haven't been dealt trip aces once).

So we can convert a pair twice on our first real draw... but, kicker?

OK, we'll take that since we're definitely not getting good draws at it.

D and I head up to the room a small winner. Time to get ready for dinner.

I'm curious to see Mizumi since the remodel. It's been closed almost a year!

Overall, the same place. Different color scheme, slightly different layout. I think I like this better, although that just might be bc it's new.

Menu is unchanged.

We also got udon noodles, snow beef, tempura and a couple other things. I forgot to take pics obv bc we were just so hungry! This was the typical 7-8/10, bumped up a bit bc I haven't been here in a while!

We head to hi limit. Wife doesn't think she has much in her.

Overall, we lose this session. Wife decides to head upstairs, D heads to craps and I go back to UX. Wife semi-jokingly says "well, now that I'm leaving you boys can win big". That phenomenon is a running joke with us and I already told D about it as well. I look at wife and say, "you're still here? Hurry up, go upstairs!" which thankfully she takes well.

Wow. One ace into 4 again, STILL have only been dealt trip aces once!

I give that back super fast and step down to 5 lines.

So at this point, I'm barely down for the trip, but that's mostly bc of the craps session. I kind of feel bad for D since he's partnered with me (and really needs a big win since he was laid off). I then think, "I'd be playing 10 lines at this point if I were solo. D's a big boy, no need to change what I'm doing on his behalf". So I go back to 10 lines.

AND... we've got our first 5 digit bink!

AND... our second! STILL HAVE ONLY BEEN DEALT trip aces once?!

I text D both those hits and the good news. We are now up well over 30k.

As is my usual, I find a way to give back too much, but I end the evening still up over 20k. Good start! I get back to the room, wife is still up, of course I tell her "lol I binked 40k within 30 min of you going upstairs" to which she rolls her eyes...

Day 1 result- +21k

Day 2 coming soon...

Never seen him play it ITT but the strategy is exactly the same as what Leon plays (not UX but basic triple double bonus) and DSTP adds about half a point of RTP on top of the base game (and way more volatility). It gets the game over 98.5 rtp.

I've played some DSTP before. In general, it's not for me. I like the "pre-excitement" of seeing multipliers and a big draw like on UX, rather than the "I've got a big draw and will I hear multipliers coming?" that is much more of an aspect of DSTP. Of course, I've never hit something huge on DSTP before and that undoubtedly is coloring my thinking.
