Trying to temper my excitement at the upcoming trip by posting a bit...

Participants- me, wife, kids

Location- Wynn, obv.

Room- Parlor suite for my wife and me, connected room for the kids

Reason for trip- do we need another one besides Vegas? Actually, I think my wife and kids are looking forward to this one almost as much as me. My wife and I have been embroiled in a simultaneous buy/sell of a home. One can't go without the other, so as you can imagine the stress is not just 2x, but more like ^2. We're nearing the end stages and have reason to want to unwind and celebrate.

She and the kids haven't been to Vegas since, January I believe? I've also been playing less at my local and have been jonesing like crazy, I'm not going to lie.

On the agenda-
- Eat at the Wynn, focusing on restaurants we haven't been to in a while (eg, Costa di Mare)
- eat at other places- I'd like to take them to the BBQ place at Red Rock, but that may be a bit of a drive JUST to get food...
- pool
- arcade, including the one at The Orleans which I decided I'd check out with the kids during the last TR, inspired by the-
- movie theater at The Orleans- tickets for Infinity War booked. Might jam another movie in there on the fly
- O at Bellagio- I've been twice but not in years. My wife went with me once and thought it was "ok". Kids haven't been, I'm sure they'll like it.
- Bronx Wanderers at Bally's- wife wanted to try a non-Cirque show, the family is into music, why not?

And... gamble, of course. Roll is somewhat TBD (LOL edit initially wrote "TDB", gee wonder why I used THAT acronym)- bringing 10k for sure, and have 1k free credit waiting for me courtesy of my host. Mom wants to partner with me for some undefined amount- I was given instructions to help myself to "whatever amount" happened to be left from what she had back in March. She doesn't even remember the amount, so I'll have to see when I get there. Could be 1k, could be more... I'm assuming it's around 3k which is fine with me bc I wouldn't want to have less than 50% of myself anyways. So call the max roll 21k, much more likely in the 12-15k range. Plenty for a few days, hopefully...

Question- does anyone have any suggestions for other fun things to do with the kids? I'll have access to my parents' car, but would prefer not to have to go TOO far from the strip. Thanks!

Thanks for the replies. I realize Infinity War has been out for a while but we haven't seen it and we're much more fans of Avengers than Star Wars. Solo will likely be the second movie, if there is one (can't take them to see Deadpool 2 yet).

Drop them off for a couple hours at that playland/daycare thing in the Orleans for a couple hours? Deadpool is by far the best of the movies you've mentioned, imo, and I haven't even seen the Star Wars one yet.

How about rollin smoke for bbq. Much closer and very good.

9 and 6. They don't golf at all. Gun range is probably a possibility soon- I seem to remember being taken to my first range around 8 or so. We grew up around guns though.

Dusted off $1500 in under an hour today playing .25 5play UX and DSTP TDB. Still on one handpay lifetime in years of playing videopoker sporadically with zero lifetime dealt quads A-4. Have 2 total dealt quads now of the ****ty variety. Gotta even out eventually right?

Not really, $100 is easily a meal for 4-5 people there. While the place is pricey, it’s definitely worth it.
They do have some AYCE options for like $40 I think, but obviously you’d have to be in the restaurant for that.

Got back in yesterday, exhausted as usual. I'm going to try and get all of the 1st day in here. We arrive in Vegas around 6:45pm. I cannot contain my excitement.



At the arrival gate, just waiting for my oldest son and wife to make it off the plane.



Limo pick up from the airport.

We take the limo to my parents' condo where I grab my cash (10k), my mom's (4k) and the car. Then, it's off to self-park at the Wynn! I haven't parked here in a bit, it was nice to see that they've added the green/red light feature that tells you when a spot is open. Much easier to find a good parking spot. I check us in while my wife heads to Red8 to order us some food- we're starving and the sooner we eat, the sooner I can get my gamble on...

Head down to Red 8, where my wife has ordered us- ma po tofu, baby bok choy, crispy pork belly, two orders of shu mai, ox tail soup, and cashew nut chicken. Unfortunately bc we were so hungry/wrangling the kids I forgot to take pics, and this will be a recurring theme of this TR- many meals with no pics. Oops. In any case, the food is standard for Red8, about a 6/10 overall.

After that, back up to the room. Set the kids up with TV on a timer. My wife has some work she wants to get done for our house sale, so I'm free and clear to gamble on my own. Perfect.

So... I've got 14k cash, 4k of which is my mom's. I figure I'll partner with her 50/50 for the first 8k and make the math easy. I've also got 1k free credit which of course I will use first...

I wash the 1k free credit through on 10 lines, on the hope I'll open up with a monster. It's not to be, and my final result of 1k coin in is



For basically 88% payback. Not good, but makes sense given I didn't make any premium hands. Now we're officially using "real" money.

Looking back on these pics, it appears that the majority of the draws were trip 3s. I remember during this session thinking that to myself and getting super upset and really pissed at how poorly the 3s were doing. As you can see I didn't make ONE premium hand.

I think I made quad aces, no kicker twice and a couple other quad 2,3,4, again no kicker that I didn't even bother to take pics of. Obv wasn't dealt trip aces even once. All I know is I cycled in a ton of money this first night and ran so badly. Ended up losing far more than I intended, which is pretty typical for me and my opening session, which makes me even more pissed that I let it happen. I've booked far too many opening losers and should have known better. I let Vegas fever get the better of me, lost more money than I should have and stayed up way later than I should have. Now I'm going to be super tired tomorrow and stuck in a big hole. GODDAMNIT.

Head up to bed really mad at myself, and mentally going 100 miles an hr which is going to make sleep really hard. I take some of those naturopathic sleep aids but they don't even help. I keep replaying the stupidity in my mind which keeps me awake. I think I tossed and turned until at least 1:30am, and woke up at 3 and 5 am respectively.

Day 1 result- -7k
Remaining bankroll- ~8k

Don't worry man, you have shown in the past you can rally. Remember to go for the "Canoe"--a big score to get you back to even--and then catapult past it.

Man I'm so tilted just looking at those misses, I imagine it's much worse experiencing it in person.
