She said "redraw" so maybe there's a variation where you get two draws? In which case, she could have held 0 cards on the first draw and then got a dealt Royal, and then she held all 5 cards. I'm not aware of this variation, but it's the only way her story makes sense given the photo evidence.

Maybe she means it locked up on the handpay before she could hold???

I'm pretty sure it does auto lock up when you're dealt a royal.

Or you know, she coulda been dealt pai gow, held none, and got a fresh re-deal of the same suited royal five times, seems plausible.

I just went back and confirmed- all three of my lifetime dealt royals have been in diamonds. Kind of odd.

The only issue is why did the person go out of their way to say it was a redraw when it clearly wasn't?

This is what I want trying to explain. I held nothing. Machine auto holds it & pays on redraw. Side note: this was a bar machine. Bartender sees hit & says "wow... you should've played dollars.".. wtf?! Thanks Pal

Really? I've played a lot of bar VP and never considered a tip any more than the dollar per drink served no matter how much I won.

Bartenders are notoriously terrible when it comes to machine jackpots.

That's pretty ridiculous considering they have zero to do with you winning. At least at a poker table the dealer pitched the cards. If I hit a royal on a bartop there will be a pissed off bartender because I'm not giving him squat.

Leon: Check out the tweet of Kyle Cartwright when you got a moment. He hit his 5th dealt royal for $100 000 within a year. What are the odds of that? Pretty damn insane.

I make a point of avoiding twitter; have no idea who that is. That said, I don't think anyone can calculate the odds without knowing how many hands he played. I've hit my three since Nov 2016, so basically in 1.5 years. If he plays a lot , who knows? Maybe he's under-royaled!

I met someone once who told me she was dealt a royal twice in a day. I have no reason to doubt her. It happens. Actually now that I think about it, one of the regulars at the Wynn told me a story during one of my last trips-

- he was playing 5$ credits, 10 lines most of the trip and was losing big time. Stepped down to 2$ credits and was dealt a royal for 80k.
- he decides to lock in his recovery and steps down to 3 lines, 1$ credits. A friend is watching him play and he's mostly talking to the friend, not even really paying attention to the screen. At some point he hits "deal" and realizes he's been dealt his second royal of the trip... over 10x as small as stakes he was recently playing
- friend doesn't understand why he's pissed/pseudo-happy

I saw a guy hit a royal in clubs on JoB for $8K, machine locked up, so he moved to the adjacent one while waiting for a payout and hit another club royal within 5 minutes

Most I've seen was a guy lock up a Royal on $1 DDB single move a machine over while waiting and lock up that one with 4AWK

I took pics of all of them (since they were dealt). 3 memorable events in the last 1.5 yrs, including once last TR? Not that hard to remember.

Your statement makes me curious how many times I've hit a royal or 4 AWAK lifetime, that I have no answer for but obv the number is much larger.

Oh, I've never had one dealt. Chances of it happening are getting lower too, since I'm not going to be Vegasing as much as I used to. Although my everyday phone has no camera, I should take my other one that does, whenever I play. Just in case.
