Quick update... been a couple times to the local since my last post. All winners except for one really bad loser. Finally got hit by the negative side of variance on that trip- I got tons of draws but missed basically every one. MANY hands with absolutely nothing worth drawing at. A few dealt quads, none premium. I managed to turn that trip from a possible 2k loser into a 3.5k loser after my 2k got busto'd in less than an hour. Oh well.
I actually went into my latest trip with a bit of trepidation- with another Vegas trip hopefully soon around the corner, tax season (we for sure owe 7.7k estimated this month, and more after April), and a Disneyland trip planned (we just got back from 3 days there, it's not like I NEEDED to go to the casino for entertainment...), the smart move would have been to stay home, save money, etc.
Clearly, the gambler move is to go to the casino and "get back" my previous loss.
Played for a fair amount of time (5 hrs), mostly hovering around +500 to -500. I'd get up to about a G, tell myself I should leave when up 500, dip below 500 up, remind myself that I "came to play" and would then be ok with a 1k loss, get up about a G again, rinse/repeat...
At some point it got pretty late and I was up 500. Decide enough is enough and start heading to the door feeling very unsatisfied. Decide to try the machine out on the regular floor and leave up a hundo at worst- basically even, obv, but at least still a win so I wouldn't be so annoyed at myself when I got home. Dump 400 lol fast and say screw it, I'll play off the last 100 and leave dead even- what's the difference?
AND... here comes the rescue! K flipped to the final ace. Not sure if I should count these as "dealt" given the flip and pay feature... but I'll count it. 5th dealt 4 AWAK of my life.
Clearly can't stop now, esp with 7x points having kicked in at midnight which passed a few min prior. Play on, and soon after am dealt-
Dealt OUTRIGHT, no flip needed. There's a part of me that "regrets" getting this this way- save these for Vegas/non-flip machines.
That session ended up being 6k winner.
