I KNEW it. Kind of makes me pissed I spent all those years reading theory of poker and studying math. Shoulda just found a lucky rabbit's foot, changed machines until I "found the hot one", "didn't use a player's card" or any of the other tried and true techniques.

FYI DSTP (and I think STP) always/automatically pay the max multiplier if dealt a Royal. Something about you have to have odd better than 1:XXXXXXXXXXXX etc for your top payout. Because odds of a dealt royal on DSTP and getting both multipliers at 10x are insanely long

Is that where all the value (wizard of odds says that the extra credits add ~.5% to the listed standard payout iirc) is in STP/DSTP?

I think I read something like that. It's "if you get a dealt royal AND a multiplier it will always be 20x", NOT "if you get a dealt royal you automatically get a 20x to go with it". But yes, it satisfies some sort of legal requirement for the minimum EV from the top prize.

I doubt it. If you look at the table breakdown on WOO it's still a vanishingly small % of your expectation. Most of the add comes from all the other hits. Bottom line- paying for the multipliers is worth it (same for UX assuming one plays correctly).

I imagine the same is true if you hit quads w/kicker in TDB and the like?

Should be. Presumably the law that all of this stems from should apply to all VP games.

Was at PH last week and almost ALL of their VP machines are 7/5 LOL

And Keno was 2,500 for a 7spot, instead of the usual 7,000.

Plus all of their "VP" bars smelled like vomit.

DO NOT waste your time there.

Most Caesars properties have horrible pay schedules at the smaller denominations

I just got back from Las Vegas last night.

I played a ton of video poker all over the strip. Paytable wise CET properties are the absolute nut low lol. MGM properties actually have some decent games still.

Anyways...kind of a disaster of a trip since I hit four aces with a kicker twice ...when I, unfortunately, changed from Triple Double Bonus to BPD ...I was getting absolutely torched and lost big.

Had fun though...won in old town on near %100 payback machines and lost massively at **** paytables on the strip....Caesars, Aria, Bellagio and Cosmopolitan VP machines are brutal.

I was a pretty big pussy on the final night. I actually got on a decent run on a DSTP machine at Aria ( the best one on the strip which I won't mention where

Had got a dealt quad with a multiplier and had a decent clip in the machine plus about 25% of my bankroll in the wallet ....Was deciding on either going for it Leon style and trying to get back to even or in the positive ...but was so demoralized that I cashed out and booked the loss.

Leon would have pressed there, went up to 5 hand UX TDB and scooped a monster to make it a winning trip.

Sorry you booked a loss. Don't be so sure that I would have pressed and won there- pressed, yes, but lost more and have been pissed is a far more likely result.

Pretty sad how terrible the paytables are at most properties. It's part of the reason I stay at the Wynn- the paytables are downright good for a strip property on a few machines.

And finally, you see the dilemma with switching away from TDB... pretty much a lock to then make 4 AWAK or 2,3,4 w/kicker. Royals somehow never seem to magically pop out, of course.
