That last shot is nuts. The 4k hit times the multiplier could be 12 grand - no wonder you're hooked. I thank my lucky stars that TDB and Ult X has been brutal enough to me that I never play them.

Leon, looking some advice. I am heading to Vegas tomorrow for a few days, but have nowhere near the bankroll you do, thanks to house renovations this year. If I wanted to play video poker on a limited budget, what kind of machine, what kind of wager, how many lines, etc should I go with?

Wynn spa x 2 x wife who's free to choose what she wants = expensive.

Hmm. That's still a little tough to answer since I don't know enough specifics such as-
- are you trying to make a score?
- are you trying to last as long as possible?
- how much of a roll, exactly?

In general, if you're trying to last as long as possible, go with jacks or better or deuces wild. Stay away from triple double, double double bonus, ultimate x, or any game with a feature or multiplier (variance is ridiculously high).

OTOH, if you're looking for fun and/or a score, do the opposite.

No matter what, look for the best possible paytables (wizard of odds and other sites have a list of the best paytables as well as optimum strategy for each game).

In general, multiline with have less variance than single line for the same coin in- so 10 lines at 10c credits is less variance than 1 line, 1$ credits. Unfortunately, you can often get screwed on the paytables for multiline games.

Bankroll-wise, I can tell you from long experience that if you play a high variance game like I do, 5k will generally last a few hours of fairly fast play at 25-50$ per push. Obv if you play slower you'll last longer, and if you hit... so you can extrapolate- 500$ should last a few hrs at 2.5-5$ per push. Etc.

Good luck!

you'll need plenty of those considering the total return is 95.14% with perfect play......every time you bet $5 you're throwing away a quarter......play 1200 hands in 2 hours and that's goodbye to $300 on average. I'd rather watch a movie and save myself $290.

I agree that bottom paytable was horrendous. I was just pushing bottons (you can't see all but wild royal paying 100 and 5 of kind was like 60)
How about the top paytable (bar)? I believe that one is 99.73 according to Wizard of Odds (NSU deuces wild).

You are correct on the bar one. I accidentally put the wrong payout for the full house. I couldn't run the bottom one as I couldn't make out the full pay schedule. The top half was missing.

What % in comps do you get on the bar one? If you can get 0.25% then it's basically 100% with perfect play.

Nice hits- I went through a "loose deuces" phase a while ago (2 yrs now? Seems like forever) where 4 ducks paid 2500. I was playing 2$ credits so each hit was 5k, a few times I stepped it up to 10 credits (it was one of those machines that you could scale up to 20 credits per bet) and hit which was 10k.

I had a night in there where I was 3/3 for trip draws- dealt 3 deuces, hit the 4th. Rinse, repeat. Rinse, repeat. I turned a near 5k loss into a 7 or 8k win, something like that. Thought I was god

That money was gone in 2 or 3 subsequent trips I think I then went through a stretch of 15 consecutive trip 2 misses... I basically stopped playing loose deuces and single line after that. Too frustrating to play forever to finally get a draw, then only have a single 22.5-1 shot at it...

Late Sept. My wife is going to hike in the Appalachians for a week and I've got the kids with my manny. My parents will be in Vegas, so we figure a weekend there will be a fun way to keep the kids entertained.

How many oz. of the Kobe rib cap did you order at SW? Just trying to see from that photo how much food that is. Looks amazing.

I believe 8 oz.

Just bc I enjoy reliving the past memories, here's a summary of the rib cap for those that don't know. I brought this up in the May 2017 TR but this is the gist. The rib cap is that outside portion of the rib eye (one of three muscles). It's that part that as one website described "you know that part of the ribeye that always looks like it's going to be overcooked and chewy, but ends up being the most amazing part of the whole steak? Yeah, the cap is that part".

Obv it's pricey, but I'd recommend it to anyone to try- between the "free" bread and the inevitable sides people are going to get, IMO it's possible to eat a lot at a place like SW without actually ordering that much food. Lord knows we didn't finish 1/2 of any of the sides, the dessert, and we only had 1/2 piece of bread each.

Here for a shoutout - never really played anything other than single line JoB or bonus deluxe before seeing this thread but it has definitely given me the TDB bug

Was in Vegas this past weekend for my mom's bday just sweating her play some penny slots at casino royale while drinking $1 mich lights when I figured why not put in $20 at the bar top

Reloaded another $20 while waiting for my beer and maybe two hands later got this:

Biggest hit for me (typically a single line quarter player) - thanks Leon!!!

That's awesome! I love how everyone pays tribute to the Godfather, out of respect, on these hits.

This is the best thread in LVL.

Score! So sexy. Never gets old to look at. I think we've got another TDB player for life...

I'm thinking of when I've had that hand dealt. By myself-
- once 3 play (50c credits), once five play (50c), once 10 play (25c but could have been playing up to 100 lines ), highest value 10k
with my dad- 5 play, UX, 1$ credit = 36k, my share 12k

And then there's the ones I've personally witnessed my dad hit... I know there's at LEAST-
- 10 play, 1$ credit, but DDB for 20k
- single line 10$ credit! DDB, also 20k
- 100 line, 10c credit for 40k
- and of course, the whopper, 25 line, 2$ credit in May 2016 for 200k!!!

The man just makes that hand so, so often.

I think it's awesome how I started this thread basically assuming it would be the beginning of my bankroll's eulogy and now I have yet another reason to try and play until I die... that said, I need to bink one of these slot tournaments or hit a major (like 6 figure) score so the roll will have the gas for years to come...

So that means you're going to start playing progressives?

Wynn probably doesn't even have any at your limits, right?

Why would you think I'm going to start playing progressives? They actually have some rather large ones- there's a 5$ credit bank and a 10$ credit bank back to back right next to where I often play. Kinda crappy game (9/5 DDB) but I've seen the progressives get as big as >25k for 5$ and over 50k for 10$. My dad has binked the 10$ progressive 3x in his life.

I personally dislike it bc of single line/huge variance. I'm ok pumping in 25/50$ a push, but not with single line where almost certainly I'm going to hit nothing. Plus the progressive is usually nowhere near minor -EV, let alone +EV.

I think I told this story on one of my recent TRs but I'm just remembering the craziness again- we were eating at Red8 and my dad wanted my mom to pump 1k into the 10k progressive. He actually managed to convince her and they were planning on doing it. When we finished lunch, between paying and taking their sweet time they made it to the machines about 5 min later than intended. I had gone to do something else but was going to watch- when I came back, they were nowhere to be found. Then I looked and saw the progressive had been reset to 40k. So somewhere in that 5 min another guy hit the royal (was still there waiting to be paid), and my parents noticed it and had shuffled off. Not that it means anything, but the timing...

That's god saying, "see, you should have played".

You said you wanted a 6 figure bink. Don't know about the Wynn but other progressives I've seen have some fine print, a HUGE payoff for a dealt royal.
