Hmm. That's still a little tough to answer since I don't know enough specifics such as-
- are you trying to make a score?
- are you trying to last as long as possible?
- how much of a roll, exactly?
In general, if you're trying to last as long as possible, go with jacks or better or deuces wild. Stay away from triple double, double double bonus, ultimate x, or any game with a feature or multiplier (variance is ridiculously high).
OTOH, if you're looking for fun and/or a score, do the opposite.
No matter what, look for the best possible paytables (wizard of odds and other sites have a list of the best paytables as well as optimum strategy for each game).
In general, multiline with have less variance than single line for the same coin in- so 10 lines at 10c credits is less variance than 1 line, 1$ credits. Unfortunately, you can often get screwed on the paytables for multiline games.
Bankroll-wise, I can tell you from long experience that if you play a high variance game like I do, 5k will generally last a few hours of fairly fast play at 25-50$ per push. Obv if you play slower you'll last longer, and if you hit... so you can extrapolate- 500$ should last a few hrs at 2.5-5$ per push. Etc.
Good luck!
