Best TR in LVL history IMO. Love checking in to LVL every 6 months or so and seeing a Leon update that delivers. Thank you!

I cringe to think how many bankrolls are going to be wiped when people read this thread and start firing away at multi-line TDB, thinking they're gonna hit dealt quads every 30 minutes

Not wiped out, but I've definitely lost a ton more on VP due to reading this thread than I ever would have otherwise.

Edit: I'm a quick learner though and have no problem walking right by those machines now. Keep 'em coming leon!

I have played less VP because of this thread. No use playing if all the run good is taken.

Rest of Day 2

It's time for the free credit portion of the slot tourney! Mom and I head over, wife is still working but should be done very soon.







They've got about 62 participants and the prize pool has been increased accordingly. Top prize for each arm is now 160k, base prize is 2k.

Mom goes first, and gets an average score. I go next, and get a slightly above avg 38k. Still nothing amazing. Wife shows up, and posts an even better 41k. So we've got two slightly above average scores. That's not going to get it done on its own, but if the 4th bonus round is god... we could bink this thing. At least we're still in the hunt.

We've got a couple of hours before the bonus rd. Wife and I play some craps, and it's not very good. I believe I lost a couple k betting 6 and 8 450$ each, so it could have been a lot worse. After, we head to UX and that's cold too. I've hit 50k points so I qualify for both an additional 1k free credit and the 4th bonus rd for the cash arm of the tournament. I elect to play off the free credit.

End. Just abysmal, 50% payback. My freecredit conversion rate has been horrendous this trip.

I head upstairs and grab a quick nap. Then, it's back for the 4th bonus rd! Since wife has the best score of us, I have her play... and she comes up with 45k. So we know we're not winning this thing, but we're solidly in the top half. We should get at least 7500$ free credit back. Optimistically, if all of those people who had great rounds (I saw a ton of 50-60k rds, where TF do these people come from) only had crap rounds to pair with, maybe we crack top 10? One can dream.

We get changed for dinner, wife and I play a bit more UX and it remains cold, I believe I've given back 5k so I'm up 15k for the trip at this point.

Been looking forward to this, if for no other reason than it's a new restaurant. I grabbed some other pics of the Palazzo and outside the restaurant, but Imgur didn't accept the upload for some reason.

Short rib, post carving. 10/10. Perfectly cooked, so frickin' tasty, plus comes with-



Fried rice, fried with the fat end of the rib cap. 10/10, literally the best rice I have ever eaten. We were beyond full at this point but I still could have eaten the whole thing. It was so good we had them box it up so we could fly it back to the kids at home. It was that good.

Trust me folks, if you're a fan of short rib at all you have to hit Majordomo's. So, so good.

Dessert- they won us over when we saw them prepare this for another table.









Majordomo's version of bananas Foster, with sauteed donuts, whipped cream, ice cream, etc. Honestly just 7/10 (too sweet), but the show was worth it.

Overall, really happy with the choice. We'll be back.

Back at the Wynn, wife and mom head to bed, I head to hi limit and see if I can wake this multiline machine up.







Despite those hits, I book a loser for the session. I think I lost 2k. I head to bed pretty tired, overall satisfied with things though. Definitely an above avg score in the first leg of the tourney, the 40k upswing earlier in the day, awesome new meal... tomorrow is full of possibility.

That's the plan. I'll be back, but not right away. Already planning the next Vegas trip as we speak, picking new restaurants but Majordomo is not one of them.

Lol surprised the Wynn hasn’t kicked you out yet for cheating.

Disappointing is relative, of course. It was just a little too sweet and we were too full to appreciate it. If I got it again I think I could actually make it better on the spot- when they prepare it they finish the pan with some sugar and make a caramel out of it, which they then drizzle over everything. So I feel like if I ask them to put it on the side and not dump it on everything that alone could fix it.

Although I'm obv not cheating, I have to figure the bean counters at the Wynn know what they're doing. I'm playing a -EV game and have just run hot. I've gone off on some big numbers too as you all know. It does raise the hypothetical question though, if I got banned how much would I care? I feel like the answer is a lot- I've gotten very used to the Wynn, know most of the staff by name, etc. I'm really not interested in having to find a new home base.

It would be fairly humorous if I had to convince the bean counters to let me continue to try and lose my money there. You'd think it would be the other way around.

No idea if Wynn bans lucky players playing -EV, heard this happening at other places. Would think your still fairly small potatoes and furthermore expect you’ll eventually pay it back, why ban.

That being said would be good story and there’s plenty of other shops in town.

Yeah I'm small time. The whole weekend I was there there were multiple guys in hi limit betting 1500-2500$ a push. I overheard one guy saying he was stuck 400k (inferring from when I bet 125$ or more at Barona, a 40k loss would be huge so big loss for him). Later when he hit 100k all the bystanders were cheering for him and he didn't even look that happy... I get it dude, I get it.

Being banned would NOT be a good story, definitely don't want to ever have to cross that bridge.

I have no understanding of how casino management thinks but hypothetically a player may have found a way to cheat that the casino/industry doesn’t know about yet. I would speculate that at some point that if a player was enough standard deviations away from norm that thought could cross their minds.

Years ago an acquaintance of mine was told by a table games manager, "I don't know what you're doing, but you're not going to do it here."

Not good management. Well, maybe it was in that individual case, but it would be terrible in Leon's case. He plays several different games on different machines. It isn't like he discovered a flawed machine.

I imagine if someone found a way to cheat at video poker they would be smart enough not to use a player's card. So Leon is as honest as the day is long in my book

This is impossible/absurd but I’d find it hilarious if it were something like Leon’s player account number caused a buffer overflow error that affected his win rate.

Agreed that Leon's amazing sun run is legit. On my way to rereading this whole thread from the start. Really interesting to see his progression from 3/5/10 play quarters to where he is now thru the last 5 years. Got me hooked on multiline tdb with occasional ultimate x as well.

Whether they used a player card or not, the amounts and frequency they were winning were enough to get them nailed. Who's to say if they had been less greedy that they could have continued by spreading their action all around vegas.

But at some point, seems a lot of the Vegas casinos nerfed tdb to 9/6. I think it is less concern about some players winning a lot and more why not, people will play anyways?

I'm a big fan of Dave Chang, Momofuku, et al...I heard there are like $16 French fries that take 3 days to make at Majordomo LA, did you happen to see these on the menu?

I'm dying to try out of curiosity and am bewildered why they take 3 days to prepare

Not using a player's card wouldn't really help, the instant you hit a jackpot you're on the record regardless. Not using a card simply prevents you from recording your loss all the other pushes to offset taxes. Plus I'd imagine it'd be even more suspicious if someone was a) a frequent player, b) hitting jackpots often enough, but c) too dumb/refuses to use a player's card.

One thing's for sure though- if I'd found a way to cheat I wouldn't be posting any TRs Just collect with as much anonymity as possible.

I could but that wouldn't help. It's the specific prep that makes her dumplings the bomb. She basically uses pork, shrimp, a little cabbage for the filling and her own dough for the skin. We pan fry them in the usual fashion. But it's the making of the dough and the way she rolls it that is a huge part of it- the skin is thick and has a real bounce to it, and they fry up perfectly. For the life of my I can't figure out how to roll them. I'm a total moron with the rolling pin, it takes me like 5 min to roll one and they don't come out right. She can roll twenty in that time, it's just muscle memory that she's long ingrained. But it takes a toll on her and unfortunately the rest of us are just too incompetent to help. Thus we don't get to eat her dumplings very often.

It's odd what the human body is capable of- I can play some pretty complex piano pieces and I watch her play and it's cringeworthy. But, I'm sure she cringes when she watches me try to roll and fold dumplings.

theres a great story told on one of the old GWE podcasts about a 2 man team of video poker players who found a jackpot bug on the old VP machines and starting exploiting it for lots of wins. They eventually got busted but it was a good listen if you can find it
