I also didn't understand one thing you wrote. You said something like looking back over all your trips, you prob average about -$5k/trip. But you weren't replenishing your bankroll with "real life" money. So does that mean you were just keeping it propped up for a long time with poker winnings or something?
Edit: wrt the rfb, I agree w the poster who said it was prob just your host not being around to process it yet. I don't gamble heavy in the pit anymore, but when I did I always had the opposite experience with comps vs the complaints here. I always just left even though lots of stuff showed on the bill and the bill always got taken care of, and often extra stuff like tips were wiped off too. In my experience, if you're doing a bunch of -EV gambling they go out of the way to keep you happy with the comps.
Typically I play 25$ avg (5 hands), I've stepped it up to 50$ in the past but never as consistently as this last trip.
In regards to the bankroll, basically. At some point in my transition to a craps player my poker roll became a "general gambling roll". Since that point, it has steadily gone down (with the various upswings, etc). It's a little hard to figure since at several points I've deposited 10-15k for life-expenses, but then at a later date withdraw 5, 8, something like that to reseed the roll. So I guess technically I've taken from the "liferoll" to juice up the gambling roll, but in my rationalization world I don't see it that way since I "first" took money from the gambling roll to fuel the life one. Couple that with the random gift infusions from my parents and I don't know exactly where I'm at, but it's safe to say I've dumped a ton of money on -EV and have either busto'd my former poker roll or am close to it.
As far as the comps, agreed, it makes sense, it just would be nice to have it all taken care of immediately so we don't have to follow up on it later. I agree at some point it would probably be automatically taken care of, it's just that I'd rather not find out.
