He did... I guess if he stopped now he'd be way above expectation. As is, sample size too small to say anything meaningful.
Rest of trip-
Let's figure out where we are-
VP- +30k
Craps- -15k
Overall +15k
We head over to Mizumi for dinner. We're sitting at the Teppanyaki bar as B is not a huge seafood fan. We're seated with a large family of accountants who try and make small talk. I'm usually not a fan, but they're really nice people so I make an effort and we end up having good dinner conversation.
Appetizer, sashimi with grilled corn and eggplant. The grilled corn was excellent, 8/10, but made the baby corn absolutely tasteless by contrast. Whole dish- 6/10.
We both get the Kobe and shrimp, 9/10. So full.
Included dessert, green tea cake/mousse with berries. I think I had like two bites.
After dinner, we finally make a smart decision with UX and... don't play. Instead, we head to hi limit. We tell ourselves "no more than 4k", meaning don't give back more than 4k. If we do that, we'll have 11k left for tomorrow and should lock in a win. Of course, that 4k evaporates ultra fast, and here comes tilt...
We leave hi limit and head to an old school machine. It's awful, stuck 6k. With tilt firmly planted, I decide to fire another 2k at spin poker. B is like "meh whatever go ahead" so I do. The 2k also evaporates ultra fast, we're now stuck 8k post dinner, only up 7k overall... so tilted. I have 40 credits left in the machine, not even enough for a full bet. I bet it off, more than 40 and now have a full bet. Bet again... down to 40 again. Bet the 40- third dealt quads of the trip?
Result-
I cannot describe how angry I am. Seriously. I hold the cards then punch the machine. B is shaking his head. WTF. Seriously, WTF. Lose 8k in less than an hr, don't have a full bet, somehow survive, once again don't have a full bet, and now it finds a way to deal us quads... and they're not even premium.
Whatever. We pick up the 2k, I say to B, "this isn't even going to last 5 min", and sure enough, I'm proven right. UGH. SUCH a waste. We head upstairs, and I'm legit worried about booking a win, despite two dealt premiums. When this game is cold, it's SO cold.
Day 3 result- -10k
Overall- +7k
Day 4
We're heading back today. I'm up at 5:30am and head to hi limit. Screw UX. Screw craps.
I lose 2k when B joins. We're down to 5k in the black, and I check my attitude again. We got to play, a ton. Everything comped. And we're still up. Let's have some fun. With the change in attitude comes three aces...
Alright, that helps, a lot.
We finally convert a pair of aces into 4AWAK (forgot to take a pic), and another 4k falls soon after!
This machine is downright HOT.
We decide to go to 18 lines, and are rewarded with trip aces again...
F YES!
I forgot to mention- throughout the trip B and I got dealt 4 to a royal 4 times. Whiffed everyone, including three draws at 15-25 lines. We FINALLY convert one.
We're now up 20k total. We decide to give craps one last try. And... it's FINALLY good. I'm playing small, 240 each on 6 and 8 and I have 80% of B who is in for 500. It's generally good, no amazing runs but most rolls were decent. I cash out 2k winner, B has doubled his buy in. We're up 22k with a little time to go...
Back to hi limit. The machine gives us some play, but ultimately we lose 2k and decide to call it. We have to pack and check out, and I get to do the always-fun "cash all my tickets and chips out", which actually is only fun when you've got more than you started with. I already know we're up 20k ish, I ship B his 5%.
Day 4 result-
VP- + 11k
Craps- +2k
Overall- +13k
Trip total- +20k (-13k craps, +33k VP)
We get the same Rolls back to the airport!
Overall, a super fun trip. Wish UX and craps could have been better, but that's the way it goes. We did get super lucky to book a win, and I'm really happy B was able to book a sizable win which just makes it more likely his wife will let him go next time
