The contractor for the backyard must be happy, but I don't live in SoCal so it may not even help get him out of bed.

Dad's in Taiwan. Might as well get it out here now since I'm sure the question will come up again at some point- he and my mom have finally separated after decades of an unhappy marriage. It's actually way better for everyone this way; my mom came back to the States herself to get a much-needed break.

I'm assuming he's happy, my wife just added grass to the project as well which added a few K. Sigh...

I know it's not Hong Kong expensive, but how pricey is Taiwan?

It depends but overall it's pretty expensive if you live in the city. I haven't lived there in almost 25 yrs, mind you.

Old, bad habit from college/poker days. I never smoke these days except when I'm in Vegas. All the old triggers, eg coffee, after a meal, etc I've conquered, but Vegas is the biggest trigger of them all for me.

I'd be disappointed if an Asian, big time gambler, didn't smoke cigarettes in Vegas.

Well...returned from Las Vegas last night.

I really wish I could emulate Leons results even one trip out of 3 or 4. Played great pay tables all weekend and put in a huge amount of volume. Ended up down 4 royal cycles worth of credits on 9/6 DDB that had progressive meters way high and 9/6 TDB.

Had aces only once and no royals, around 20 quads, not one premium with a kicker in 4 royal cycles worth of cash lol. Never got a dealt quad either, how does Leon get 4-5 dealt quads a a trip !!


Oh well, I did have a fun trip and some sports betting saved me a little bit. I think I may have to give up Video Poker at this point.

Leon’s of the world need Mathews to play through all the misses and cold streaks so he can stroll on through and hit the jackpots

Yeah...you don't hear much about guys who take their shot and miss. I'll tell you what happens to them, they end up back in Canada humping crappy IT desk jobs on graveyard shifts.

I had a picture in my head of me sitting in the high limit room of the WYNN Leon to my left and Riders to my right, playing Ultimate X 10 line max credit Triple Double Bonus, hammering dealt quads on max multipliers and I let that vision blind me.

The closest I will get to Vegas now will be visiting this forum and trying to figure out how I came up short.

I was just about to post this exact same thing. I played a good number of hands over the past weekend - 0 dealt quads. Even on a good weekend i'll get like 1 dealt quad. I don't know how leon does it.

Y'all talking about lack of dealt quads is a good lead in for my last trip to the local. I know I'm just running good, I feel like life is setting me up to get really screwed. Gotta hurry up and get dealt 4AWAK in a huge situation before the other shoe drops...

I gave UX Spin poker a try- not so good paytable, just wanted to play for fun and not bet too big. Turns out 25c credits with the variance of both spin and UX is plenty big. Had a good day-

To be respectful I’ll answer. I came in with like 3k and was around 5k at my tops with all other misc small hits like dealt straight flushes. Just posted the most interesting hits. Ok now, I’ll go back to my corner!!!

The recent "gimmicky gambling" post has gotten me thinking- I kind of want to do something to change it up/spice up my next trip. I'm considering either-

- walking up/down strip, putting 100$ in play at VP at every casino along the way, play until double up/busto/jackpot
- play every game offered at the Wynn (eg, the wheel, pai gow, etc).

Both have their advantages and disadvantages. For instance, I'm not really keen on walking super far down the strip (been there, done that), and I know the paytables at most places suck. OTOH, I'm not really interested in giving action on games I literally have never played before (eg, pai gow dominos???)

So, open poll- any ideas for a little gambling change up/foray for my next trip?
