Wake up super early, before sunrise...





I dust off several thousand pretty quickly; can't remember the exact amount but I think 4k? I know at some point I stepped down to 5 lines. I've done very well with hitting 2k hands, but I've had a serious shortage of 4ks. With that thought, clearly I make

Move back to spin, give back 2k, then make another 4k hand!

Head upstairs for breakfast up 1k for the day. We get room service again, and once again I forgot to take pics. Got eggs over easy again, which went excellently with the croissant I treated myself to. After breakfast, my wife has a double spa session (two treatments + she's going to use the amenities afterwards). We figure it'll be right about 1pm before she's ready for lunch. I've got potential for a LONG AM session.

My mom and I head downstairs. I dump some more money at spin, and win some back at non-spin:



10 lines cools off, I switch back to spin.

Spin must have cooled off, bc I switched back to 5 line. Definitely gunshy this trip, I've got more to lose and I know I've already hit my likely only huge hand of the trip.



OK, that helps a bit. Nice and fat on the bottom line too.

I manage to book another 2k winner for that session, so I'm up 3k for the day. I figure I'd better take a break, so I head to the spa as well. I hit the sauna, then the hot tub/plunge pool/deluge showers and alternate between them for a while.

We're planning on Red8 for lunch. I make it downstairs a bit early and play some more 5 line while waiting for my mom. My mom makes it a bit late (had a few bonus games to play at penny slots apparently), but still no wife. Weird. I call her, and she's dealing with some minor work issues and will be down soon. Suddenly, I see my third dealt quads of the trip!



AND THEY'RE PREMIUM! 3s are HOT this trip!

Immediately realize I should wait for my wife and let her draw. I wait. And wait. WTF where is she??? I can see the auto-shuffler just getting pissed and skunking us on the kicker draw. Call her again- she answers in a semi-annoyed tone. I tell her to hurry up and she'll get it when she comes down. Finally she makes it down and starts telling me about her random work thing- MEH I DON'T CARE WE'RE DRAWING AT 4 THREES HERE!!!!!!

I explain the situation to her, and tell her to draw well...

Result-


Damn. At least we got one. Given I've been skunked before (including on a 4 ace/10 way draw), I suppose I'll take the 3.6k.

GREAT lead in to lunch. I'm up 6k for the day!

Wife always gets the oxtail soup. 6/10, don't bother ordering this until the evening folks- the soup needs a lot of cooking time.

The post lunch session is just a disaster. First, my wife and I play and hit absolutely nothing. I think we threw in some Walking Dead 2 as well; irrelevant, as we didn't hit the grand. I think we lost 4k when my wife decided to head upstairs. I of course stupidly keep playing, and lose another 2k, 3, 4, 5, SIX!!!!!!!

So sick. -10k in the afternoon. -4k for the day! So dumb too. I go upstairs to take a nap; should have done this hours ago.

We're supposed to eat at Mizumi for dinner at 7pm; I wake up at 6, still tired and potentially able to sleep more, but my wife comes in and tells me "she's bored" and wants to play. Huh, don't hear that from her very often, I suppose I'd better get up.

We hit spin, and I tell her we're not losing any more than 2k before dinner. The machine zaps 1k almost immediately, then we see the jackpot screen-





Nice. Pair into a premium hand is always needed.

We switch to 10 lines, give back another 1k, then-



Once with kicker and once without.

Play off the odd amount, and finish that pre-dinner session up 2k, only -2k for the day now.





Soft shell crab and spicy tuna hand roll. 7/10



Spicy tuna roll and soft shell crab roll. Obv we didn't order this, they messed up the order and rather than bringing my wife her hand roll, they basically gave us the cut roll version my hand roll order. Whatever, we told them it was fine and don't bother bringing the original order.



Wife ordered this- can't remember exactly but some kind of scallop roll? It was good- 7/10.

Post-dinner, we hang out with my mom and play penny slots for a bit. Play the lightning link progressive forever on a hundred bucks, then rapidly dump 3 or 4 hundred at Walking Dead. Bored with this, we head back to VP which is completely cold. I think we lost 4k inclusive of all the penny slots, so now I'm down 6k for the day. My wife decides to head upstairs- I tell her I'll probably be right behind her. We leave tomorrow so of course I want to play more, but I'm also down 6k for the day, 7k overall. I decide just another 1k and go to work.



SWEET. Premium quads twice. Really needed that.

Of course, I shoveled in money pretty fast during this session as well, but overall it was great. I stopped when I was completely even for the day- so it was a +6k session. What a crazy, swingy day- so many 4k hands, such long periods of ice, another dealt 3's... and LITERALLY no net change.

I only have one complaint about the 122 pages Ive read in this thread. And you echoed it this page. Being a one resort complex you are limited to meals at the same places over and over, and even if they are solid, it must get old.

I've always wondered how top notch restaurants here in St. Louis even see the same people every week. After 15-20 trips to Vegas, yes I have favorites but even my wife is asking to change it up from the ones we've changed to after the initial changes to our routine.

Ever consider a date night to another resort? Just to mix it up?

Wynn has nine fine-dining restaurants. Each one has 10-20 main courses. I think you could come to the Wynn >100 times and have a different meal/combo each time. And if he's getting it for free, why not?

Yea I could see how it could get a little boring to a reader. However for example my wife loves The Cosmopolitan and will eat at the same 4-5 restaurants there for two weeks straight and hardly get bored. Then again when you’re eating from like Jose Andreas and Zuma every couple of meals you’re in pretty good hands food wise. It’s not like you’re eating in n out and IHOP every couple of meals

We didn't realize they'd messed up the order until they brought the food, and we said it didn't matter.

I was on the 56th (out of 60) floor. We've stayed on 60 before, I think unless you're in some souped-up suite it's all the same (worse actually, just takes longer to get up/down to your room).

Used up the free credit the first night.

It does get old for sure. As other posters have mentioned, it's hard to pass up the value of a "free" meal. That said, that's part of the reason we hit the Thai place this time- so sick of the same meals over and over.

My wife and I have eaten at many of the nice places in Vegas- mostly in the past before we became Wynn regulars. We definitely need to branch out again and will do so the next time we're in town. I already inquired with my host about getting meals at other places comped- no go, unfortunately. We ate at Joel Robuchon's a few years ago and it was sublime. It's just tough to fork over a grand for a meal when things at the Wynn are already paid for.

looks like a summer trip to Encore Boston Harbor is in order

I lived in Boston for 5 years and still have gambling friends out there. If I get out there again no question where I'm going.

That kicks in at 50k pts. I've earned it precisely once. That's a very tall order (see below).

We can probably figure it now-
- I tend to earn 30k points on any trip
- 3 pts per 50$ coin in (I'm 99% certain this is correct, going from prior memory here and I know I wrote it down earlier in this thread, but I'd have to have the machine in front of me and actively coin in to confirm)
- 30k pts = 500,000 coin in
- I've been coining in 45-50$ per hand, so to make the math easy let's say 500000/50 = 10,000 hands.

That all seems reasonable- we should get dealt quads ~ 1/4000 hands give or take and I tend to average about 2 per trip.

That’s apparently the trade off for full pay VP. You get hella points or you get hella comps and full pay VP - but you don’t get both


Also am I right in remembering that Wynn doesn’t have a tier system for players club? The Red Card tracks your points, rated play and resort spend and then you can spend your points or if you played enough they will comp you based on your play/spend - that’s all.

Yeah, that's it- 7 per 100 so 3.5 per 50. I knew I was close.

Basically no tier system- but there is something called "Chairman's club" which my dad has been for several years. Not sure of the exact qualification needs but you get a swanky gold players' card (made of some sort of metal, it's heavy and legit). They sent him a brochure once with some of the perks, such as "get to request different types of games, reserve machines, etc". Obv increased comps as well but I think it's commensurate with level of play anyways.

Well an option is to take her to Dirt Dog, some times you just got to go low roll'n!

I bask in that glory for quite some time. I'm giving the wife more money, and definitely booking a win this trip, just a really good feeling. Finally, I decide to play on. I make one more hand before breakfast-



But give all of this back before I head upstairs. Give my wife the good news and another 2k cash, and take stock of where I'm at-



30k. So I'm up 10k. Nice

We head to Tableau for breakfast, and I get my usual there- corned beef hash with eggs over easy.



9/10, breakfast is just so much sweeter when you've binked a 5 digit hit.

After breakfast, we pack and make plans for the rest of the afternoon. We're going to hit Cipriani again for a late lunch after we check out, then my mom will get us to the airport. That gives me a few last hours to play.

I try and decide what kind of win I'm ok going home with (or maybe put a better way, how much I'm willing to give back). I decide a 5k win, plus 5k to wife is good under any circumstance. So I've got a 5k post-breakfast bullet- let's do this!

That initial hit gave me hope, but it wasn't to be. Things really went icy after that, gave all that hit back and most of the 5k as well. We stop about an hour before lunch to give Walking Dead 2 one last bit of action...



This hit was actually worth 720$ betting only 1.50 a push! Only one Michonne on the first reel- can't imagine how big it would have been if it had given me a whole column of them.

That paid for the entire Walking Dead session and allowed me to book a 200$ winner as well! We head to Cipriani for one last meal.



My lobster salad appetizer, 7/10.



Wife's tuna tartar appetizer, 4/10. Needed some flavor/pizazz.



My lamb chops, 5/10.



Greens that went with my main course, 3/10. Mushy and overcooked.



Wife's calf liver and fried polenta. She took a risk here and lost- 2/10. Overcooked, texture awful. Polenta was decent.

Overall, very underwhelmed with Cipriani in general. We gave them some action just bc of the newness, but I can't see us coming back any time soon.

And with that... another trip to Vegas is in the books!

Day 4 result- +8k
Overall- +5k (+5k to wife)

Snapped a pic of the random cash afterwards... this includes wife's garden money (30k at this point, minus what she's already paid). My bankroll sure would be healthy if it weren't for this backyard project...
