Day 2
I'm up bright and early, tired but excited to be in Vegas! Plan for breakfast is the Peppermill. Here's a pic of the lobby of my parents' condo.
The pool is off to the left, and the security desk/main door/valet is to the right. Elevators to the condos are behind me.
I get chicken fried steak, while my parents get corned beef hash and steak and eggs. Sorry no pics of their food.
It's pretty hard to screw up breakfast food IMO. Some meat, don't overcook the eggs and make the potatoes crispy and you're there. Breakfast food will never win a 5 star award but when you're in the mood... nothing else will do. I'd give this an 8/10 as chicken fried steaks go.
Afterwards, I take my dad to the Wynn so my mom can chill. We fire bullet after bullet at the UX machine and it is ice cold. I think we collectively put in 10k (so I'm stuck 2k). We hit a few regular quads, but no big multipliers and certainly no premium hands. Ugh. We head back to the condo for lunch- leftovers.
After a nap, I decide to head back to the Wynn early. My parents will join later in the afternoon and we're going to eat at Lakeside for dinner.
I belly up to my usual TDB machine. The machine that has been great to me in the past, was super cold except for the last day last TR, and thus far pretty damn cold. It...
remains cold. Frustrated, I move to the next machine, even though it has no sound. Typically this is a deal breaker for me but I just cannot stomach the thought of dumping more money into the one that is ice-cold.
GOD. FINALLY. That's how it's done!
Now I'm even again LOL. Let's keep it going.
YES LET'S KEEP IT GOING! Note the 4th ace came in twice- once without the kicker.
OK, now I'm pumped up. Let's try the machine with sound again.
Nice try, but you can do better. Man, I'm the king of dealt "non-premium quads".
BANG!
OK, that was the bomb. I have about an hour before dinner and am up 5k now. I decide to head over to my friend the Walking Dead to relax a bit.
Theoretically, there's a non-zero chance of hitting the grand...
I play for a little while with the expected result- I hit nothing of consequence and donk 200$.
At Lakeside, we start with the stone crab claws (just the bomb), I get the bone-in rib eye with mashed potatoes, sauteed mushrooms and asparagus as sides. Mom I believe got king crab, Dad got filet (don't think I got pics of those two).
Stone crab. Not on the menu but if you ask, they'll get them from SW steakhouse across the way.
Rib eye. Definitely better than their NY strip which I've had many times. I'd give the strip a 7/10, this was probably an 8/10.
Sides. Mom's King crab made the pic, apparently.
Dessert is shared- some bourbon-infused cake with ice cream (8/10) and coconut cream pie. The pie is a 9/10- the cream is just super light and fluffy, nothing is too sweet, and the coconut is there but not overpowering (a common flaw with most things coconut IMO). It takes a lot for me to give something a 9 or above so if you have the chance I'd snap order this one.
My dad and I head back to hi-limit for another joint venture while Mom plays penny slots. We fire in 5k with no result. My parents decide to head home while I keep playing. It's pretty cold, with none of the pre-dinner magic. I move to 25c UX, TDB "bonus streak" (same game available at my local casino- too swingy for my tastes and probably too big, but I want to play UX/TDB and 1$ credits is DEFINITELY too big for me to take on on my own).
The gods reward my stupidity, with-
That's the thing about this game. If you multipliers working, there's a fair chance they'll be 12x (note upcoming 12x multipliers). WHERE IS THE KICKER! Kicker comes in, this is a 6k hand at quarters. Instead, it's worth-
I pump this back in in about 10 min before I decide to call it quits. As great as the pre-dinner session was, the rest of the day was pretty cold and I'm actually not up that much. Better than being stuck, I guess.
Day 2 result = +2k
Day 3 coming soon.
