So, gonna try one of these trip reports.

Two trips, with a possible third, that I'm hoping will be entertaining for some of yall.

In April a group of us that have known each other for 35 years are heading to LV to celebrate our "50th".

The cast of characters...

2 former cops
2 outlaws
A preacher
And a rich fitness enthusiast

The outlaws are warming up with a trip 3/15-3/20.

He will pretty much bet every tourney game.

I'll try to get in 40 hours of poker.

For yalls enjoyment, I'll hop onto every one of his bets. I know nothing about the current state of the basketball world. I don't watch TV and other than a Cowboys game and a handful of TCU football and basketball games I have seen live, I haven't watched a complete game in almost 4 years.

He fancies himself an expert. I have some faith in his ability, but also know his bucket has a lot of holes in it. The guy leaks in a lot of ways. I've described him as an idiot 100s of times over the years.

There will be weed. There will be whiskey. And if I can figure out how to do it, there will be compromising photos.

The third trip will be in May. One our buds from the same time period has a little band that will be in LV and I'm hoping I still have enough in the tank, physically, to make another trip. If the other outlaw doesn't go broke, I know he will be game for another run at it...

His bet sizes will vary so we won't necessarily both be winners or losers.

On second thought, we will be losers regardless of how it shakes out.

For one thing, I'm off the grid and we come from a pretty small town. My paranoia doesn't allow for over sharing on the internet.

We went to see him perform (without his band) several years ago and happened to bump into him prior to the show. He was very engaging and gracious. Asked (and remembered) my name, asked for a couple of requests (and played both), and insisted on posing for a pic (complete with cigar) with me.

At the time he had just established a tequila label, which he couldn't sell at the venue, but he did auction a couple of bottles. LOL! I still regret not bidding on them. I have no idea if his label folded (most likely) or is going gangbusters.

I just picked Kinky's old book Ten Little New Yorkers at the library today.

Checked in with the idiot last night. Several pages of notes and lots of road time on Monday and Tuesday for him to prepare for our weekend of beating the books.

I get in late Wed so my first bets will be Thurs games. I will be paying attention on Wed as I will be pulling for Frogs in the tourney.

Opened a new bank account as I use a small regional bank and want to make sure I have access to enough cash without paying ridiculous atm fees. (Needed to anyway as they have a decent 7 month CD I was interested in. Flame away...)
