That would be so badass. You could bet pennies and if the right combos line up BAMBAMBAMBAM who knows how big it could be. Like winning the penny Megabucks.

For some reason I'm picturing Mortal Kombat II or Killer Instinct, something like that. Pair of aces --> multiplier --> respin --> dream card --> Super ultra Combo! LOL.

If you can manage to get dealt a sequential royal on a 100 play machine on a 20xDSTP + 12xUX it would get you a nice 480,000,000 credit win. Then of course you could always play the 'double up' feature a few times to buy one of Steve Wynn's places.

LOL 480 million at 1$ credits. Anyone who would go for the double up at that point is the stone cold gambling nuts.

Hey do they have wheel poker in vegas? Not the build a wheel game, but wheel poker where you spin a wheel if you get quads or something like that.ive been dying to try that game for forever. Like years. It's just something I live with at this point.

Also, I've discussed this with leon, but other people might have missed us talking about the biloxi machines. They have some triple triple double game but the main one there is a dueces wild ddb. Not sure how it works but sounds fun

Really? Is it a virtual wheel, or an actual physical wheel?

I suppose that everybody already knew what I only recently learned; any slot that spins a virtual wheel lands on the low-pay segments (most of the time) because those segments of the pie are programmed to have a higher
probability than the high-pay segments.

I'm such a dummy that I always thought I just had bad luck hitting the "good"
slices of a the wheel

They have "wheel poker" at lots of places on Fremont street, 4 Queens etc. If you get a quad you get a random spin where you can win anywhere from I think 250 to 4000 credits.

It WOULD be nice if you could just push a button and get your choice of royal, 4oak, etc to win.

But damm, 90 coins for a max bet. I'd have to play nickels.

Almost caught up...

Sorry for not posting for a while- we've been super busy with my mother in law in town, then a trip to Disneyland, etc. Life stuff taking priority over an internet message board. In any case, I managed to get another Vegas trip in there as well, and I took a bunch of pics/plan on writing it up decently. For today, here's the remaining "pre Vegas" pics that I thought were interesting, and a little preamble...

Non-premium dealt quads. So standard.

Because who doesn't like a royal from a two-card draw?

Thought this was interesting enough to snap a pic. Holding an ace, and pick up small quads? OK, sure I'll take it- the odds on that have to be pretty similar to being dealt those same quads though (one less slot to draw to, no less).

Love the frequency of that 4th ace coming in. Wish they both had kickers.

On the first line, nice and big, so pretty.

OK good. Now they both have kickers.

AAGGGHH. Just make it a royal!

W.T.F. You F'ing tease!

So I'd been playing for the better part of the month or so, holding my own but clearly not hitting anything huge. My parents came to visit for a few days and we made several trips to the casino. My dad and I must have played 2 days' worth of multiline (he usually covers all 100 lines) and neither of us got any dealt quads. I know it's a rare event, but it got me thinking that it really has been a while since I've gotten premium dealt quads (probably Apr 2016).

The next time I go, I get this-

It was super pretty to look at dealt, and of course I found myself lamenting the lack of kicker (would have been a 6K hand that way). The draw itself was below expectation. Oh well...

The discussion with my parents (now back in Vegas) re: me coming to visit came up pretty much as soon as they went back there. If you've been following this thread, you may remember I was last there end of August for a more family-oriented trip. This time, it would just be me, and my dad has already signed up for a 10K buy in slot tournament at the Wynn. I don't want to go (and lose), but otherwise DUH Vegas how do you not go. I clear the trip with the wife and look up tickets on SW- they are LESS THAN 100$ each way- snap call. I'm slated to go early Oct.

Now I'm pumped again, and looking for an opportunity to play dreamcard. This is right around the time the earlier discussion in this thread about dreamcard was occurring. I've got my dad pumped up and excited to go to Red Rock. In the meantime, I play for free on videopoker.com just to feel the game out and for fun.

I go through a very long patch of not getting dealt an amazing start- I'm literally cycling through hands as fast as I can, not holding trips or anything, just trying to get dealt premium quads or a royal with the dreamcard. I'm trying to get a sense of how many hands it might take. Turns out, it's a lot. I knew this intuitively, but it's never a bad lesson to reinforce- those hands REALLY ARE THAT RARE.

Finally, after I don't know how many hours of play, I get this-

I send it to my dad with the message, "we need this when I come" or something to that effect. I'm ready and I have a bankroll- let's do this Vegas!

To be continued...

Vegas Oct 2016 Day 1

So to clarify, this trip already happened. I've been home now for about a week.

Flew in on a Wed afternoon and my parents picked me up at the airport. We elected to head straight to Red Rock to play- obv I'm down, and my dad has been itching to play all day.

It's a pretty far walk from the garage to where Dream Card is located, but we finally find it.

So it begins...

I'm trying to determine the denom I want to play; I know I'll be betting double credits, and the variance is going to be sick. I decide 5 lines, 50c credits is right- the same bet/push as when I'm playing 5 line, 1$ credits at the Wynn, each premium hand will be worth 1/2 as much but I should hit them more often, etc.

The first 1000$ is devoured in 5 min, I **** you not.

Sick. Ok, let's scale this back a bit. Mentally I had prepared myself to "only" lose 3k on the first day. I move down to 25c credits, 5 lines. Meanwhile, my dad can't hit anything either.

I play for a while- I hit quads 2s w/kicker drawing from trips, but otherwise nothing and I never get dealt the fabled "premium trips" or "4 to a royal" then the dream card. I'm now stuck 2k and pretty frustrated. I decide to move to 10 lines, 25c credits and pretty soon get dealt this-

OK, that helps a bit- but where are the premium quads? Put that money back into the machine, and get this-

Rinse, repeat. I got dealt non-premium quads one more time and didn't even bother to snap a pic. It's dinner time, I'm ravenous and stuck 3k, and my dad is stuck almost 8k. We decide to go to the BBQ place.

I get the ribs + fried chicken, side of greens and fries. It was decent- I've had some pretty high quality BBQ in my life and am generally underwhelmed- the sauce is usually too sweet, the meat is ho hum, etc. There is no place in SD to get decent BBQ, for example. This place is better than any place in SD- still not that good, but I'd come back. I'd give it a 7/10. My dad got a big bowl of gumbo which seemed alright and mom got a full rack of ribs and ate maybe three LOL.

After dinner, we decide to play more. Screw it, we're here, it's a far drive from my parents' place and we're probably not coming back. Plus we haven't reaped any benefit from the DC (but been raped for it repeatedly).

I put in another 2k at 10 line, 25c and get destroyed. I'm getting draws, I'm getting the DC, just nothing is coming in. I must have drawn at trip aces at least 100 times total and didn't turn one into a quad. Same story with 2,3,4s. My dad also gets drilled and loses over 10k. We are DONE with this ****ing place- oh well. The idea of DC is great but with the beating I took (at 25c credits!) and how far away it is, I can't see us coming back any time soon.

We go back to my parents and I'm still itching to play. Quite frankly I feel robbed- stuck 5k, basically didn't make any hands... I suppose I'll head over to the Wynn!

Ahh, I love this place. Love walking in from the parking garage- just a few min from my favorite machines, and I get to walk by the (old) poker room, where I have a few decent memories from my poker playing days. It's not quite the same without the Ferrari store anymore, but oh well...

Here is the main result from that session-
Spoiler:
Jack ****ing ****.

I hit no hands. I'm stuck another 2K, 7K total. What a great start. I head back to my parents with my tail between my legs.

Day 1 result: -7K

Day 2- a new beginning...

I go to bed around 11pm and aim to sleep in until at least 8am, knowing I need the rest. Vegas fever, of course, kicks in like a MF and I wake up for good at 7am. My parents are up and we make breakfast, then I decide I'm going to the Wynn for a morning session.

View of the Wynn/Encore from my parents' balcony- the skyline and view isn't the same with all the construction and changes. Still, Vegas...

I put 100$ into "my" machine and it takes it in a minute. Put another 100$ in, and get the result I'm looking for...

Spoiler:
It's a monster.
