I'll be staying at Red Rock casino (conference) and then LINQ for a total of 7 nights. Main question is best 2/5 games - looks like no poker at RR (but they do have bowling!), so will need to go elsewhere. This will be first week in December. Is there a big difference in the games on weekends vs weeknights?

Also, maybe a couple cool attractions to visit. Any tips appreciated.

Say what? Red Rock definitely has a poker room, though I can't vouch for their 2/5 game. But I know I played 1/2 the last time I was there.

My bad - I didn't see poker under "gaming" at the RR site, but google says RR poker is part of Stations casino.

RR has 1/2 NL $300 max buyin and they’ll have 4-6 tables going during most nights. They also have 2/5 NL $1000 max buyin but there’s usually only 1 table going.....maybe 2 on a Friday or Saturday night if you’re lucky. Flopped quads also pays $500 on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday and they have a BBJ around 140k but you currently need quad Q’s or better to win that.

The cafe also usually has some very good deals like a burger, fries, and drink for $5. Check their site out. You get $1 in comps per hour at the poker tables.

I stayed at Palazzo over Labor Day Weekend, 2/5 at the Venetian was very live when I was there. 2-3 straight donators who would rebuy at each of the 3 longish sessions I was able to play.

After hotel, bone-in ribeye, and rhino (obv), I wound up bringing back 2.8k more than I brought, not a bad little weekend.

But it was a holiday weekend so ymmv

Yeah Red Rock is where the author Steve Selbride plays. I've read all of his books. Recommend them.

How about a decent restaurant if a few of us from the conference wanted to go out one night? Nice, but something people could easily put on their travel expenses

Again, I only stayed at Palazzo, definitely check out the fine dining and casual dining threads...

Brunch at Bouchon (Venetian) was pretty awesome. Was like $115 before tip for 6 of us

The buffet at the Grand Lux at Venetian was pretty awesome, anything you'd ever want for breakfast for like 20 bucks

I had the bone-in ribeye at Delmonico (~60ish), two half-sides, and a couple glasses of cabernet, and it was everything I hoped the experience would be
