well my 2005 tahoe was stolen out ofAria 5th floor parking garage tonight so i guess be careful parking there. Pretty lame as they stole a bunch of stuff from the inside (have dark dark tinted windows so do not think this is why they chose my car) as well as obviously screwing up my door lock and ignition, but i guess im lucky because I have onstar and they located it. They dumped it at the Hooters parking lot. Police said they usually do this to see if it is a bait car or has tracking and come back after a few days. Hopefully this is an ok bad beat story

total bummer man. I had my car stolen once...it was amazing how violated i felt. It took me a while to get over it - just remember it wasnt personal

Ya not too upset about it since I am lucky they didnt disable the tracking and my car will be good fine after some small repairs that insurance will cover. Just a lil story to add to the book I suppose.

Whats the status of online poker for American players? I keep "hearing" things, but it seems its no closer today than yesterday.

How about Southpoints' move into hosting an online poker website..they were going to have up and running "next month", that was 3 months ago!

It's a bummer but u can still play on merge, revolution and winning networks if u can figure out how to get money on and off

No real promising news, it's still a waiting game unless you want to deal with smaller sites like Merge or Lock and sloooow cash outs. There have been some minor rumblings about legislation during the lame duck session but most recently there hasn't been much optimism for anything passing soon although the overwhelming opinion from all sides is it's a sure thing on some levels eventually.

Any chance you'll be at the Ceasar's buffet lunch on the 22nd? If I had to guess I'd say you'll be out of town for the holidays especially since you're asking about online games!

Interestingly enough, showing some age here, I started playign live -mainly stud & draw type of games. Then as time evolved and the opportunity came I started playing online. Now I'm back to live play, LOL. I'd play both live & online if given a legitimate chance...

what seems to be happening is that the promise of online gaming has gone away for at least the first quarter or two of 2013 even though a player or two are ready to rock is the word was given.

There seems to be a real disconnect between those pushing for intra state online poker in nevada and those that are pushing for a federal solution... a fracturing of gaming proponent resources between those that want nevada to be the first state and those that want there to be a federal solution. One additional issue that is really bogging down this process is that there are places like Delaware, which already has legal online gaming, that is being run by the state itself... which is a real issue for private corporations that have already invested tens of millions of dollars only to have the specter of the state or federal government making those investments useless because a state may ratify state based gaming.

on a positive note, there are ever increasing online gaming licenses being applied for and approved... and more of the main players are beginning to partner up with each other to solidify their positions. In addition, Zynga has now applied for a license to of cash based online gaming.

One thing I don't like personally is that many see this entire issue as being an overall strategy to offer legalized casino gaming online and NOT a stand alone online poker issue. Detractors continually talk about this being the "Slippery Slope" of casino's having a gaming link directly into every house hold within the USA.

I am contemplating moving to mexico or costa rica myself to check out living there part of the year so I can play online. we'll see, a lot has to happen before I do that, and perhaps if we are lucky, something might happen intrastate in Nevada as a temporary fix until federal legislation can be enacted.

This would be epic. Only reason I don't go there more is how inconvenient it is to get food from there mid session.

I just wanted to come in here and post that I met up with squid and he graciously sweated me while I played 1,2. First off awesome guy and a great poker mind to discuss hands with. If anybody else gets the chance to take him upon his offer I would snap do it. Even you wanna just pay for a coach I think he would guarantee improve anybody playing 1,2 or 2,5 for that matter.
