Interesting question, that I ask about last night.

It seems like everyday the Bravo system shows two-three $2/5 games and 6+ $1/3 games, and several people on both lists. So I make the call to get on the list and then show up a few minutes later....and find open seating, wtf? I have seen this pattern develop multiple times recently.
Ther answer I got last night was, blah, blah...."oh , well, we do our system different than everyone else, so if someone has ask for a transfer it shows up on Bravo as a waiting player"...WTF? No it doesn't -not in other card rooms. So I told the dude ALL of the other card rooms seem to have accurate data on the Bravo system, why does Caesars always show extra [phatom] players? The answer I got was, "when you see our room on Bravo just subtract 2 from any of the lists you see and that will be pretty close"

that's been the problem with the bravo system for a long time byron... floors putting in bad information and trying to get players down there.

TY. Ok fine, I learned something. However my experience has been that the other rooms all seem to be pretty accurate, Wynn, V, Bell, Aria, PH, .....Caesars is the one I noticed trying to manipulate the system.

It very well could be to manipulate the system, but FWIW Harrah's does in fact put table change players on their wait list. In the room it reads as "John D. tc request," but on Bravo it makes sense that it would just list them as a waiting player.

Same goes for phone ins. Bravo may show 3 players waiting, but when you get there you may find 3 open seats because all three players have called to get put on the list. Seeing 3 names on a list can convince me to skip a room and instead head for the competition that shows about the same number of games running and no list.

Owner of Stratosphere launches free online poker site

The owner of the Stratosphere and Arizona Charlie’s casinos in Las Vegas have become the latest Nevada gaming company to offer free-to-play online poker.

American Casino & Entertainment Properties launched acePLAYpoker.com today. Gaming companies have launched poker sites over the last year in anticipation of laws that would allow limited online gaming, either by federal legislation or state-by-state.

Players can win prizes including show tickets and thrill rides at the Stratosphere and free hotel stays at American Casino & Entertainment casinos. Besides its Las Vegas properties, the company operates the Aquarius casino in Laughlin.

The Nevada Gaming Commission approved American Casino & Entertainment Properties as an interactive gaming operator in September.

“With the launch of this free to play website, we can now bring the excitement of play found at our properties to anyone with Internet access, no matter their location,” said Alec Driscoll, the company’s director of gaming development. “We are also positioning ACEP and acePLAYpoker.com for the potential approval of legalized online gaming.”

Not that anyone should ever play there... but I find it weird that while all the other MGM owned properties got added to Bravo....Mandalay Bay wasn't?

Mandalay Bay are technology Luddites. Comps are tracked by index cards and they don't have the Bravo player tracking displays on their tables. I'm pretty amazed they have a computerized waiting list instead of a clipboard, and shuffle machines on the tables.

'Course they still don't have the shuffle machines completely figured out ("RED LIGHT ON 3!"). Dealers are not permitted to clear their own jams. If the shuffler red lights, they have to call for help and have someone else come do it. I'm told the MB poker room manager believes it's against gaming regulations to do what every other room in Nevada does, claiming there's some prohibition against the dealer simultaneously handling two decks at the table.

Still, MB has certain charms. It's fun to visit now and then.

Monte Carlo follows the MB model. I think Kay was originally the manager of MC. Not sure the heritage, but many of MB's odd rules are applied at MC. There's gotta be some ties, still, between the rooms. And I haven't visited MC in a couple years--do they have the Bravo player tracking things on the tables?

to maximize efficiency... if you were MGM International.... shouldn't you just

a) shut Luxor & Excalibur's poker rooms and herd everyone into MGM Grand's room?

b) Shut MC's poker room and just get people to play at Aria

honestly harborlaw has set the bar very high...and riverman has made promises that are quite steep. If you do a tr it needs to be done with focus, attention to detail, and no 1/2ass kind of stuff. Are you ready for this type of comittment?
