Noob comp question... Noob comp question...

Back in June, was in Vegas for my usual trip. Apparently my one time slot play was worth more than I thought.
I just got an offer from the V for entry into a slot tourney (don't really care, but I'll play for the S&G of it) and 4 nights in a suite. I figure the gf might like a little midweek fall trip, so I'm thinking of taking advantage.
However, being as I haven't had an offer like this before, I'm curious...fine print says I need to maintain my historical level of play as of the date of the offer. I'm assuming that means I need to maintain while I'm there for this trip as well as playing in the tourney, that they'll charge me if I'm not playing while I'm there? And how do I go about finding out what that level of play is?

Did anyone here ever got charged if they didn't play on their comped trip?

From my experience, it only means they won't send you any additional offers in the near future if you don't play. I would not worry too much about keeping your action at least as high as last time, they wouldn't charge a customer for playing 10% less than before. If anything they want to keep their options in case somebody doesn't play at all or only very little.

Cool. I've never had a comped trip, so...
And since I almost never play slots, it's all kinda lol that that's what's getting me offers.

this is what is called a teaser offer. you dropped in and played some with no play history, they figure "maybe if we give this guy a free room he will play a lot and we will win a good longterm customer."

most LV casinos are usually willing to take that gamble with a couple comp nights, especially for (prospective) slot players.

just take the offer, maybe play a little bit only if you feel like it (or don't). I would be very surprised it they tried to charge you, but don't expect any more offers in the future unless you acually play at comp level during that trip.

+1

i've used Venetian offers like you have as well with similar play where I thought "oh man this is getting me 3 free nights? sweet" and was not charged at the end of the free stay. I did give them some pit play though, so I think everyone wins.

I mean, I'm not gonna NOT play. But I got lucky and played max for a couple hours and just kept winning. Honestly, it can't have been a ton of coin in...penny slots... so I can't figure it's all that high a level, but I'm not expecting the same initial results that let me play the way I did. Thanks for the input, everyone.

There is zero chance they will charge you. I've booked comped rooms before and never played a single dollar at the that casino (or sister casinos) during the trip and they don't bat an eye. The only thing they do is slow down your future offers. When you check in, they show you the rate sheet for each night and it will typically say something like "comp". That's what you sign It's been said in other threads but many will view these offers as a rebate on past play.
