Heading back to Vegas!! Flying in late Thursday 9/10 and staying until late Wednesday 9/16. Can I handle 6 nights in Sin City, including Week 1 of the NFL season?? I’m hoping I can stay disciplined enough and not degen too hard at the start of the trip. Six nights can be a longggggg time in Vegas! My girlfriend Kim is coming with me along with my buddy Ryan and his girl. We were originally scheduled to come out Saturday the 12th but Ryan and I decided to come out a couple days earlier. I’ll be staying at the Mirage Thursday & Friday night, got both nights comped, just had to pay resort fees. Saturday when Kim arrives we’ll be at the Aria for 4 nights.

I’m hoping to play a lot more poker this trip. I came out last October but played in a 3-day golf tournament which obviously ate up big chunks of my days. I plan on playing a variety of games and limits: 1/3 & 2/5 NL, for sure gonna play a few sessions at Aria & Bellagio. LHE from 4/8 up to maybe 10/20 depending on what’s available and how I’m running. Also wanna play some Omaha 8 at the Orleans, anything from 4/8 to 8/16. If I’m running well I’ll also mix in some 1/2 or 2/5 PLO if it’s an option.

I’m absolutely gonna be betting sports quite a bit also. My buddy Ryan puts in lots of research capping games and we’ve partnered up the last month which helped me build a decent roll for this trip. We’ll be hitting the Week 1 NFL, NBA, NHL and possibly some MLB. Hell we’re not above mixing in a WNBA game or two!

I do enjoy a table game or two, particularly BJ, Craps, Pai Gow & UTH. Ok that’s 4, definitely gotta control myself so things don’t go sideways!! My gf plays a little poker and also some table games so she’ll be in the mix as well.

I’ll be bringing a bankroll of around $4K for the trip. I’ve got a car rental reserved for the last 4 days so we can get away from the strip a bit. We’re planning a trip to Red Rock Canyon Monday. My 46th birthday is Tuesday and we’re hitting Fremont St that night. I’m not a big drinker but that night all bets are off!!

Gonna try my best to do updates as much as possible with lots of pics. Really looking forward to this trip, definitely had enough of the Covid mess!

In, looking forward to all of it. I can't believe the NFL is starting already, all my attention has been on NBA and NHL (with a bit of tennis thrown in).

Living vicariously through you and this post. My buddies and I did the same thing last year and it was amazing, we vowed to do it every year and then COVID hit, I'm really wanting to go but will wait a bit longer. Keep us updated! Any big NFL bets you are looking at?

Yeah I’m hoping enough places are open it’ll be close to the normal Vegas experience. My man Ryan is going deep into the lab to see what NFL plays he likes. Week 1 can always be tough but it’s especially tough this year. So far he really likes the Bears +3 and buying the hook. Of course he’s a HUGE Bears fan but I think they’ll be much improved.

I should mention that in addition to being a damn good capper, Ryan runs like God on the Buffalo Gold machines. Two weeks ago we were at the Hard Rock in Tampa when this happened...

Exit row seat on Frontier, take off 15 min away. I thought this would be a half full flight but it’s looking like it might be close to full. Either way we’re 5 hrs away from Sin City!!

Uneventful flight, landed 30 min early. Got in a LYFT pretty quick, check in at the Mirage was fast & easy. We did lose a couple bets already, Ryan has another friend already in Vegas and we had him bet a 3-teamer that whiffed. I also had $100 (he only bet $100 not $110) on Under 53.5 in the Chiefs game so that was a dumb beat to see when we landed. Oh well, hopefully we got the run bad out of the way. -200 so far, I’ll try to keep a running total. Gonna hang out at the Mirage and maybe play some table games...

Hopped around Pai Gow, UTH & BJ, ran decent and turned $200 into this...


Ryan did his thing on Buffalo Gold and ripped a $3600+ hand pay within an hour. This guy is just sun running the last couple months!!


He was in the mood to play some cards and I’m not that tired yet so we’re currently on the 2/5 list @ Bellagio!

Sat down @ 2/5 after a bit of a wait with the $500 max. Ryan agreed to take half my action, I tend to play better with other people’s money lol. Played a few orbits, won a couple decent pots and my stack was up to around $650. 6-handed table, older guy opens UTG +1 to $15, cutoff who’s clearly on tilt calls, I have two red Queens on the button and 3-bet to $60. The blinds fold and the other 2 call. Flop is 763 rainbow, checks to me I bet $90. Original raiser folds, tilty dude check raises to $200, I think for maybe 30 seconds and shove, he calls pretty quick. Board runs out J-3 and I lose to 5-3 off suit lol. Pretty disgusted, I managed to grab a pic of the aftermath.


I didn’t feel like rebuying so I played a little BJ, ran ok and got back $125. Cabbed it back to the Mirage, still wasn’t tired so back to the pits. Lost $275 @ UTH then caught a nice run @ BJ. Was in for $500 and ended with this...


After the dust settled I ended the night up $5. Late night eats @ Denny’s then hopefully sleep!
