At least they have a high limit room.. so then there's that.

The Rob was meh... not as expensive as thought it would be.

Any buzz or reviews on Fontainebleau?

Doesn’t seem like it, I think we see why Vegas is correct in expanding its sports footprint with F1, Super Bowl, and other events

Casino market is saturated, any niche that is out that to be filled has been

I'd like to see the demographic breakdown on a place like Durango. Would they even attract whales if they offered stuff for them? I just don't see any reason for tourists to leave the Strip for gambling purposes if money isn't an objective.
I was addressing casinos in general.

If you go there at 11AM on a Wednesday don't they have the same kind of customer your local hometown casino has at that time of day?
I don't know. My hometown doesn't have a casino.

I called the Durnago resort directly. I was told there is NO live poker....

So, that's that, the rest of this thread is all side commentary in my view..... and I don't feel like the world is a better place for having another casino in Las Vegas which does NOT offer live poker.

No live poker room = nothing of special interest in a poker forum, in my opinion.

The only poker related thread in this subforum with any activity in the past 10 days is the vlogger thread.

I love buffets and don’t really care much for the food courts. I definitely won’t be going to a casino because they have a food court, but I have gone to casinos because they had a buffet. I don’t know of anyone that went to a casino because of a food court. Food courts are okay but if I invite some friends or family members to eat at a food court and gamble afterwards, I would get some strange looks.

Even a place like Aria, which has a new fancy looking food court has a burger place, a pizza place and a bar there. Aria also has all of those downstairs. So I always found it a little odd that they also have those places (especially the pizza and burger place) in the food court upstairs.

Agree. I'm very sad the Paris buffet is gone.

fyp...that's what Durango calls it...which is actually appropriate. So now I can rant again...

the Durango "Food Hall" is the first thing you must pass thru from the parking garage to get to the casino area. The problem is, instead of being a traditional food court with all of the restaurants along a wall, the "Food Hall" restaurants face each other maybe 10' apart and this extends a long way from the parking garage. Which means that the customers for each restaurant are crowding into each other anytime it is busy and clogging up the pathway trying to get into the casino area from the parking garage.

Again, the layout of this place is mind boggingly awful (in case I didn't mention that before).

Rant over.

Posted my review of Mijo in the casual dining thread but the general idea is that it was awful. Wouldn’t go back but still some other good options at Durango I’d like to try.

There was a massive hiring push to get this and other new casinos open, and the “word on the street” locally (no validation), is that both places saw a bunch of foot traffic to see what the buildings looked like and not as much gambling action as expected. Some have already experienced layoffs (if true not surprising).

The no poker room is a complete non-starter for me. No reason to go regularly.

That said, I did make a point of going there when I was in town nearby. I wasn't impressed.

It reminds me of the Mall of America.

I really don't know why the feel of a casino should matter, but I do know that gambling in the Mall of America fells wrong. Wrong vibe.

With no poker and and a really awkward vibe, I see no reason to go back unless I am dragged there. It is a shame. The southwest part of Vegas could have really used a good poker room. Red Rock, Orleans, and Southpoint are all sort of close, but not really.

The food hall is the only reason I'll eventually get over there sometime in the future. Shang Artisan Noodle, Nielsens and the Hawaiian spot are all places I'd go. The regular restaurants are the same bang average Mexican, Italian, steakhouse etc. that every casino offers.

OMG the Paris buffett was the bomb.

Play a few hours at Bally's (now Horseshoe) and get free tickets then impress you friends by taking them to a great buffett with anything a person could want.

COVID sucks.
