It would be insane for them not to open before the Super bowl. So now your saying it won't even open this Friday?

I am curious about the room... but do people still go to the Sahara?

I am guessing the guy brandog74 that started the Sahara Poker room thread on Poker Atlas table talk is involved in the room, but don't know for sure.

He posted this an hour ago:
"Supplies held up opening, look for cards in the air this weekend".

So if true that sounds like confirmation of the chip issue.

No kidding. If the tournament chips aren’t ready for opening day here’s a novel solution...just don’t have a tournament.

And how frequently are the tables packed with female players? You know, the demographic you claim to be trying to entice to the tables...the demographic that just told you isn't enamored with sexist promotions.

Of course, you ALSO managed to concurrently demonstrate the very issue with some male players that ALSO serves to alienate female poker players from some tables...we aren't there to be eye candy.

I don't know the answer. Apologies if the wording sounded otherwise. I was just trying to say that a week from now it should be open, whether that's Friday, Monday, or somewhere in between.

What are you talking about? Do you even know what I'm saying when I say PH is doing well? I mean the pleasure pit next to a poker room full of dudes is a good idea.

I think she refers to attracting female players with barely dressed dealers, which is not going to work given that men are more physically attracted to women than women are physically attracted to men. Of course PH is doing well, the pleasure pit attracts a lot of men, myself included. Most men are shallow even if they won't admit it. Her argument is trying to attract women with the same tactic (but with barely dressed men instead of women), which I believe her when she says it's going to do the opposite.

I know it's just an artist rendering but I really hope they aren't some weird ass counter height tables/chairs. They are the worst for long periods of sitting.

Hopefully open next weekend. Wife wants to check out a new casino on this trip and we have never been here.

I'm a simple man who preferred the Sahara's old school poker chairs over the sitting rolling skates found elsewhere.

Funny, I'm a woman and I think a majority of the women in Vegas are dressing exactly to be eye-candy, even at the poker tables. Granted, there are a lot of women who aren't, too, but I don't see a lot of modest clothing on the women in Vegas

Absolutely nothing wrong with it -- and nothing wrong with the men looking. Who can blame them? I look.

I do agree that good-looking, scantily-clad male dealers aren't going to attract female players who wouldn't already be playing, but I'll be there if one of the rooms tries! Come on, Sahara!

Wat, you mean those chicks that wear stuff that has their boobs 75% hanging out actually DO realize it??

Am I supposed to look?

Or . . . . not?!

I'm so confused.

I don't even want to make eye contact with a dealer, let alone another player or "eye-candy"!

LOL

And MY comment was directed at the numbnuts who 1) believe that dancers are going to bring female players in and also 2) the ones who fail (like yourself apparently) to recognize that treating females as nothing more than a piece of meat to be ogled is NOT conducive to the stated goal of some in the thread of getting more women to play poker.

There are PLENTY of females who enjoy poker. However, what is NOT enjoyed is the sexism and misogyny that all to often rears its ugly head at the poker table. I don't know how pervasive it is beyond the $5/10 games since I have not generally played higher, but I see it at $5/10 and lower...there are at least some dealers who try to put the worst offenders in check. But when the environment is NOT something that females find worth putting up with, we aren't going to show up and put our cash on the table with any measure of regularity...

Today they said they weren't up to Fire code yet. lol

Seems like they should have started building much sooner. I mean they are getting the new stadium ready on time and they can't even build a tiny poker room in a few months and launch on time.

When did I imply that females are pieces of meat to be ogled? You should keep your feminist rant in check before throwing around accusations. Also, as many people ITT have pointed out, lots of women in Vegas dress TO GET ATTENTION. So yes, if they are dressed like that, guess what? They got my attention and I will stare.

Yea, none of them dress for attention on Halloween in Las Vegas.

Most people in Vegas, male and female, dress to “get attention” when they are going to a club or a pool party. Very few people in Vegas, male or female, dress to get attention when they are playing poker. The median age of women I have played poker with in casinos is well over 50 anyway. So I don’t see how this is relevant at all to this discussion.
