It looks like Bikeking19 took down a 10 handed tournament at Sahara. I saw the 2pm had 10 people.

Ha, probably right.

I agree maybe it’s time $1/$2 died but not to be replaced by $1/$3. If it’s going to go let’s make the adjustment to $2/$5. $1/$3 is such an annoyingly bad structure.

How many 1/2 and 1/3 players would make the jump to 2/5?

I'm going to hazard a guess: very few.

The 5 or 6 friends I know that come to Vegas to play poker . . . only 1 would play 2/5.

My opinion: the casual player who is willing to buy in for 1 or 2 hundred . . . isn't going to play 2/5.

Regs keep the lights on. Tourists are the gravy. Just my two cents.

most people like playing poker but can't afford to buy in and lose more than $250 a time. pros and regs would destroy low roller recs at 2/5

Who is rooting for failure? Personally I think it would be amazing if it thrives and if we have more games to choose from besides 1-2 or 1-3 NL.

When I first played poker in Vegas ten years ago, 2-5 was the lowest NL game spread at Bellagio. And it was far and away considered the premier room in the city.

But I can’t imagine a room only spreading $50 tournaments to be successful with it.

Yeah Bike and I ran this one today. Ten players, only seven unique entries.

The bad: The 10k starting stack is too short. Half the stack is a single 5k chip which is baffling. The dealers are nervous. One of the floor staff (of the four !!!! that were present) was new and didn't quite know how to work the system. The dealers were inexperienced and we had at least one misdeal per down. The floor started the clock before we had a seat for the button. Fifteen minute levels just aren't long enough. Big blind ante is implemented incorrectly (first level is 100/100, second level is 100/200 with the 200bba - if you're going to start it that early, make it start the first level, or delay it to the fourth level or so). Entry/re-entry ends after the fourth level but not during a break, which I absolutely hate. Last tournament is 9pm.

The good: Amazing room overall. Chairs are comfortable. Chips are new (duh) and feel great. Tournament table was 9-handed. Structure could be worse (still not great, but could be worse). TVs are huge and the video wall is amazing.

This room had an opportunity to take over the title of "Best post-7pm tournament in town" and dropped the ball. Or maybe they just don't give a ****. I really like the room. If I were a cash player, I'd be there quite often. But as a tournament-only player, it's not going to be on my regular rotation. At least not as set up now.

Yea, I looked at the structure and it sucks bad, If they did 15k with 20 min for at least 1 tournament a day would be much better.

5k chip out of the 10k, LOL

Agreed. They did have a bounty tournament tonight (which I did not play) which was a nice change. But 15 minute levels are just not going to make for good value. Especially with no guarantee. Especially when there are plenty of other turbo tournaments around. They did nothing to set themselves apart.

It looks like Jennifer got a bunch of casino employees together and they have 2 full 4/8 mix games going tonight.

They mentioned on twitter also that you get an extra $10 on you card for showing them that you signed up for Atlas.

What's annoying about it? You can multiply by two but not by three?

Yup, and the majority of players bought in for $200. Opening raise was usually $15 and seldom over $20. It wasn't a lot different than 1/2 or 1/3 at other places.

Am I wrong for thinking, ‘**** this Atlas bullshit” for requiring a registration to use the app or am I just a grumpy Gus and just register?

The window of opportunity to provide truly unique and differentiated offerings has been squandered. Industry veterans just can't think outside the box.

Once the initial enthusiasm of the opening ends, reality will set in.

If they can get regular mixed games running, that would definitely be unique for a small room at least.

not wrong.

Should be like Bravo where some features (like room counts) work without being 'logged in' - Poker Atlas USED to have some features which did not require registration (I remember since that was where some of the Houston rooms had aligned themselves).

Looks like they have again two full 4/8 Mix games going.

Does anybody know what games they have in the mix?

You don't need to register to see it on the website in your browser.

According to the website:

Quote:
$2/hour comp rate for live play with special $3/hour happy hour rates 10 AM to 4 PM Mondays & Tuesdays. Points are redeemable at any dining outlets including Starbucks and Bazaar Meat. Keep your earned comps!
I've heard good things about Bazaar Meat.

Pokeratlas also says they have two tables of 4/8 mix running on Tuesday night/Wednesday morning at 2am.
