Yeah this isn't calling down and asking for a noon checkout instead of 11am (which is a common thing to do). You're asking for an extra 4 hours. I've never NOT seen a fee for this, be it a Vegas casino or a non-Vegas non-casino.

I'm checking out on a Thursday and an extra night would have been ~$150 with the resort fee. So $50 for 3pm is relatively reasonable in a place that sells 22oz beers for like $10 in the gift shop.

Agreed .... except that $50 likely never finds its way into the pocket of anyone who actually cleans the room....

Can't find anything to eat at the Wynn?

Urth Cafe
Red Eight
Mizumi
Wing Lei

If you can't find something to eat at any of those Wynn restaurants, stay home.

IMO, Wynn’s restaurants tend to be pretty basic but decently executed food at often extraordinary prices. Red Eight is very ordinary, Wing Lei just a fancy setting with well-executed ordinary food, haven’t been to Mizumi since it was Okada and thought it fine, and you’re really putting chain coffee shop Urth up there? If you can get it at LAX, it ain’t worth mentioning here.

If I’m eating at Wynn it would be SW, Costa di Mare, maybe Sinatra. But I know what I’m getting- nothing adventurous.

I pretty much agree with your take. I enjoy Wing Lei, but it's stupid expensive and nothing special - I don't really think the food is much better than at Red 8, which is their "casual" Chinese place.

I've had a couple of really good "special" items at Sinatra - we had short rib gnocchi a couple of years ago that were great, but I haven't seen it on the menu since, and I think they changed their chef recently.

I think to a large extent people are burning off their comp points.
