Played some tennis at Lorenzi Park. The courts are dope, but it does cost $5 to rent. We were tuckered out from the hikes so the caliber of play was pretty bad. Also, I'm bad at tennis.
To cool off, we hit the water slide at the Golden Nugget, which is where we were staying for free thanks to some sort of email promotion I received. That pool is crazy. The sharks have scary mouths.
Rinsed off and then went to the Buffet at Main Street Station. After all of the activities and not eating since breakfast, we crushed it pretty hard. That place is also delicious.
From there we degened pretty medium. I lost $100 playing pai gow. It was a rough end of the night. Went to bed fairly early and responsibly.
On Tuesday, we got up early and checked out of the Golden Nugget.
Went to the Plaza to have a nice McDonald's breakfast while sweating a bunch of tennis bets. We had a few hundred in play and ended up profiting precisely $4. Crushed it. The breakfast sandwich at the Plaza wasn't nearly as good as the one near Red Rocks.
From there we walked to Frankie's Tiki Room. We passed by the cool Frank Gehry Building.
Here's our first round of tiki drinks.
We had a few rounds, which is a lot in terms of tiki drinks.
From there we ubered back to the Golden Nugget at about 4pm, and I snap late-registered the 3pm tournament. It was probably a mistake since I was still feeling the tiki drinks quite a bit. Didn't matter though. I somehow took 3rd and was pretty in the zone. Just couldn't get the cards to finish things off when we hit the everyone has 12big blinds stage. Cashed for $191. Meaning I had about 100% roi on poker tournaments this trip. Totally sustainable.
While waiting for the floor to pay me. I checked a voicemail on my phone. It was a job offer starting in a couple months. Feels really nice to have a job lined up as mine is literally ending in a week. Really good.
At this point, having not eaten in like 10hrs and having drank a lot, I needed some food. We ran over to Triple George with like five minutes left on happy hour there. Solid food and the bartender was pleasant. Shared some sort of spinach dip and calamari. At this point I had gotten really lazy with pictures.
We had the Warriors -7 so we played some pai gow beneath a tv to sweat that. Both the basketball and pai gow went well. Then we grabbed an uber to the airport and flew to philly. That pretty much brings us to the present.
Extremely pleasant trip. I was break even at sports betting. Up on poker and down on table games. I did a bad job accounting, and I paid for some stuff in cash, so I don't actually know if I won money. But I'm only like $130 in cash (including paying for activities), so I may actually have won money gambling.
I think Ethan won a decent amount, and Brian was about break even.
Fun trip.
