Hi everyone! It’s the holiday season so figured I’d start this thing off. 2 weeks until we go to Vegas for two full weeks.

I’m not entirely sure that I’ll be able to post daily updates. The reason for that is I’ve been busy with work the past couple of months and the new company I work for is based in Las Vegas (yay!!) which means I’ll be working pretty much every day I’m there including business dinners during weekends. I will still obviously use the time off to play as much as possible, but no more playing nights jet lagged unfortunately and hopefully a lot less degen stuff.

Btw: there has been a lot of discussion about my last TR, I really like(d) to put my own emotions into the TR and share with you all the ups AND the downs of gambling. This did not come over well with many people so will just try and stick to summaries daily. People forget that I only do this for entertainment purposes and once it loses its entertainment value it all goes to ****.

So yeah anyways will post obviously but probably not as frequently and as detailed as before, will keep it as a daily summary and let BigWhale post more updates.

Oh also expect a lot of restaurant reviews and food posts as I have booked 6 or 7 restaurants so far.

As for the hotels I have the following booked, all comped:

13-16: Cesars Palace
16-20: Vdara executive suite
20-23: Cesars Palace
23-27: Vdara executive suite

Lots of moving between hotels but whatever, this way I can maximise comps. And since I’m still Platinum I can pretty much get checkin and checkout any time I want.

Last but not least, we are flying Malta - London Heathrow - Vegas and I have booked premium economy with Virgin Atlantic so will be really nice!

Vegas is confirmed. I will come back with a longer post a few days before travel, but to say I am excited is an understatement!

I will stay a few days shorter than MuckPls, but we will be on the same flights over to Vegas, and then I will go home on the 23rd of January. So basically 10 full days for me.

For hotels I went with Horseshoe for 3 nights, and NYNY for 7 nights - really looking forward to try out the latter for the first time. But will as always venture around a lot, and play poker anywhere I can.

I had a few nights in NYNY earlier this year. Found the rooms to be quite nice. Venue is easy to get in and out of. Plenty of poker rooms nearby if you want to play cash games, though it's a bit of a trek to the best tournament venues (Venetian, Wynn, Resorts World). Solid option overall though.

WRT the bold, do you mean driving? Years ago, to go north on the Strip from there, you had to make an illegal u-turn. I don't know how it is now.

It’s actually a smaller version of business class with 2 - 3 - 2 seat configuration. The upgrade only was $1300, but I had a bunch of points left which I used so was “free”. You also get priority boarding with business class and a bar area on the plane, plus welcome drinks and a special menu. So essentially business class minus the flat beds.

You've mentioned this before, but I'm pretty sure the last time I parked at ParkMGM, I could turn left or right on LV Blvd when exiting via Park Ave.

More importantly, why wouldn't you use Frank Sinatra? Only tourists drive on the strip.

It's probably been 15 years since I stayed at the Monte Carlo, pre-City Center I think. But I was talking about NYNY, and I flew, so I rode in cabs. The cabs made illegal u-turns to get headed north. I've never parked at NYNY.

ParkMGM and NYNY both exit to LV Blvd via Park Ave, and can go north or south on LV Blvd from Park Ave.

Sorry for the derailment. Just started making plans for a possible LV excursion for myself, but probably won't be arriving until the 28th. Trying to avoid Fri/Sat room prices and maximize LV time. We'll see. Sorry I'll just have missed you at the tables.

Does the new company being Vegas based mean lots more TR’s in the future?

Yes definitely, I will have to travel frequently between Europe - Vegas - Manila all year. But don’t know any other details yet.

It's honestly just a few weeks ago since I learned that it was Caesars, and not Ceasars So I have messed this up in TRs as well.

I just use CP, so I never have to think about it.

Good to know, thanks. With the degrading of CET comps I'm starting to consider trying to get higher status in the MGM universe. Is video poker a good way to accumulate points with MGM?

I used to work for a company that had a plant in Manila, and I constantly prayed I'd never have to go there. It must have worked. I don't envy your travel, that's for sure. Unless they could give me an iv that knocked me out for 95% of it.

Why? Manila sounds interesting, I have never been and actually looking forward to it.

It's a very long flight. If it takes more than 90 minutes, I start hating life.
